Chapter 6

(Isabella POV)

Awkwardness filled the air as I looked around the room.

We have been sitting here for 15 minutes and we haven't spoken a single word.

I once again glanced at him but I instantly regretted it.

He was looking at me. Both of our eyes widen before we look away.

I blush hard red and I know I must have become as red as a tomato. 

“Ummmm…. What is going on?" Another voice rose as I looked to see Nancy looking at us confused.

“Nancy? Wh-what is it? You want anything?" I asked trying my best not to stutter.

“Oh no. I just saw you guys as I passed by. Please continue." She grinned winking at him. I groaned and covered my face knowing exactly what she thinks.

“Are you alright?" he asked as I looked at him by making space between my figures.

“Yea" I said clearing my throat.

“Can you tell me more about you?" he asked as I looked at him with wide eyes.

“Umm like what?" I asked scratching my neck nervously.

“Anything is good. I just want to know more about you" he said as I blushed and nodded.

Why am I getting frustrated when I talk to him?

“Well umm… I'm a doctor" I said as he burst out laughing.

My eyes widen as I looked at him shocked.

It's the first time I saw him with emotion. He usually has a void face.

His laugh is beautiful. He looks even livelier and my heart kept skipping beats.

“I know you are a doctor," he said as he finished laughing.

Stupid girl! He is right! What type of reply was that! Of course he knows I am a doctor.

“Tell me something else like where is your family," he said as I smiled at him with embarrassment.

“Well. My mom died when I was 5 years old. She had Leukemia. My dad… My dad was killed in the first invasion. He was dropping me to my school when thunder struck in front of us. Our car got into an accident. I was able to escape but my dad was killed as a Zylian blasted my car. After that the refugee took me in. I was trained by the government to be a doctor and I was also assigned this clinic. It’s been 3 years since I started working here. This is my family now" I said as he looked at me with many emotions.

But I saw one emotion stands out.

Guilt.

“I'm sorry" he said as I shook my head.

“It's ok. It's not your fault" I said as he sighed and looked down at his hand.

“When will I able to go?" he asked as my head whipped to him shocked.

“Huh?" I asked as he sighed.

“When will I be able to walk so I go?" he asked again.

“Oh. Well your wound is healing fast. We can start the therapy in a week. Since it's just a minor injury, we will be able to do it in a month." I said as his eyes widen.

“A month? I can't stay here for a month. Let's start therapy tomorrow" he said making my heartache.

Does he want to leave so quickly?

The thought just saddens me. I feel an urge to say no to him.

“Yo-You will experience a lot of pain since the wound is not fully healed" I said as he sighed.

“I am alright. My wound doesn't hurt badly. Please start the therapy tomorrow" he said as I stared at his void eyes.

“Ok" I said before walking out.

(Prince Nyx POV)

“Ok" she said before walking away. She pulled the curtain and walked to her table.

Her eyes held sadness and it took every fiber in me to not pull her to my lap and kiss her.

My hands formed to a fist as I stared at them. I need to control myself more. I almost lashed out when I saw that man touching her.

I don't think I can control myself around her. I feel so frustrated when I can't touch her.

It's so hard when she is so close to me yet so far.

I have been trying my best to not get involved with her but she is the only one I trust. I don't want any other humans to touch me.

The sparks I feel are even worse.

Lord! I can't even handle these 2 days. How the hell will I control for a month? Besides they must have started their search for me.

Today I heard the earth warriors tell that there was a sudden attack. As far as the plan I have initiated, we don't until a week.

Father must have announced an attack to find me.

As much as I hate earthlings, I wish they don't find me. If they do I know they will kill everyone in this place including my mate.

And what's worse is that I won't be able to protect her.

I looked at my mate who was now sleeping uncomfortably on the table.

Her father died right in front of her. He was killed by a Zylian.

Would she hate me if I say I am a Zylian?

Would she look at me in disgust?

Would she despise me?

But why am I worrying about that? She is one of my enemies.

I shouldn't care. But I do.
