Around 6:20, Katie sent me a message and told me she was pulling onto base, and to meet her outside. I jumped up and put my blouse on and made sure to do a final glance over in the mirror, before brushing my teeth quickly. I lost track of time watching the news, and the weather forecast for today. I have to say, I looked good. I felt good in this uniform, and I was happy I get to wear it again. My last command, we didn’t wear this uniform. We wore our NWUs. This uniform made me feel proper.
I grabbed my wallet and my phone, shoving it into the pocket of the wallet, and made sure my ID was in the easy slip pocket, since I will have to use it to get into the building. I made my way down to the lobby and got outside at the same time Katie pulled up in front. I smiled and jumped into her truck. “Hey” she grinned and handed me a Starbucks drink. And this is why she is my best friend. I laughed and took the drink. “Sis, should I be scared and nervous with to
The words, Fraternization, Captain’s Mast, Restriction, all flowed through my brain. I was trying to keep my exterior appearance as calm as possible. My heart, on the other hand, was beating so hard and rapidly, that that’s all I could hear in my ears. My breathing was normal though. So at least I could keep my façade going. Tyler, I mean, Chief, glanced at me quickly, that I wasn’t sure if he really did look at me. I numbly listened to the rest of the muster that Lieutenant Mays had to brief the work center on. Not that I had much input. Until I heard him introduce me to the rest of the crew.I smiled and stepped forward. “Hey, I am MM1 Lee. This is my first time on shore duty, so go easy on me. I am used to being on a ship, not on land. Don’t hurt me too badly.” I joked. The work center laughed. At least my slow wittiness can make people laugh. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Someone raised their hand, like they were in
“Uh, Hi Chief, what can I do ya for?” He laughed as he steadied me, so I didn’t fall over. “I heard LT said no PT for you today, and that you didn’t have to come back after lunch, so you can go move into your new apartment.” I nodded. I sighed, great, they talked about me, since they work in the same office, and I am in the office across the hall. “Yes, Chief. That’s right. I also noticed he hadn’t assigned me a duty section yet, so maybe I have a free week, besides working. I have a lot I have to get done, since transferring here to Florida. I have to make it to the DMV, and then hopefully find a car, this week. Otherwise, it will be difficult to get back and forth to base.” I didn’t mean to blurt out all of that, but Tyler seemed amused by my word vomit. I blushed. “Sorry, I am just overwhelmed. I hate moving, and I hate having no way of getting shit done. I didn’t mean to blurt all that out. It’s not your problem.” He shook his head. “Walk with me, I have a few minutes be
Lucky for me, Katie and I ate from the salad bar, instead of ordering food from the galley, so there was no waiting for our lunch. It gave us plenty of time, to go to the lodge, grab my bags, and check out, then take me to the apartment building, and her still have time to get back to base and back to work. She helped me bring my bags up to my new apartment, and she looked around. Same layout at hers, but with newer paint, carpets, and furniture. “Sis, how much did it cost to have it come furnished?” she asked. “Umm, I want to say 3 grand.” I shrugged. “They are going to have higher than normal rent payments until it’s paid off. But I am planning on writing a check just to have it paid off, and then just have my regular rent payments, each month. I have the paper in my laptop bag.” I know rent each month is going to be 800 unless I get a pet. Then it goes up to 835. Katie nodded. “I was thinking about going to the SPCA this weekend. Come with me. Maybe we can find litter mat
At 4:00 on the dot, my doorbell sounded, and I got up from my place at the counter and peeked through the peep hole. It was a delivery person. I unlocked the door and opened it up. I smiled and started getting handed my bags of groceries. I had 17 of them. I felt bad, so I handed the guy a $40 tip. A $20 for him and a $20 for the other kid helping him. I thanked them and closed my door. I was putting the groceries away when my phone started going off. Whoever it was, didn’t have an assigned ringtone because it was my main ringtone. Jurassic Park Theme song. Only special people in my phone had assigned tones. I grabbed my phone and was shocked to see Tyler’s name flashing across my screen. I stammered for a second, then answered the call. “Hello?” I cautiously asked as soon as the line connected. “Hey there Beautiful.” Oh smooth. Real smooth. “Chief.” Was all I said, and I heard him laughing. “In my defense, I didn’t know you were going to be in my work center, the new 1
After our impromptu trip to Walmart, Katie and I were heading back to the apartment building and my phone buzzed, letting me know I had a text message. I looked down at my phone and saw it was from Tyler. I totally forgot to send him a message giving him my address. I was kicking myself in the ass mentally. Whoops. I guess I got so caught up in setting up my kitchen, and knowing I needed things for the apartment still, that I just forgot. I’m sure he wouldn’t be mad. I texted him my address and which apartment I lived in. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” That was his response. I was confused by that, so I texted back. “Why would I kid you? Is there something wrong?” “LOL, umm… I live in the corner apartment, right next door to you.” My jaw dropped. I was no expecting that. Great. He is my Chief, and my next-door neighbor. This is just turning out to be lovely. Freaking. Fantastic. I basically choked when I read the message and Katie gave me the side-eye. “You good?” I nodded a
Tyler was a natural in the kitchen. He moved with such ease and grace throughout and didn’t ask to go through my cupboards or drawers to find what he needed. I honestly didn’t mind. I got this warm and fuzzy feeling in my belly, watching him. “Where did you learn to cook?” I asked, as I moved out of his way, while he was measuring flour. “Wait, are we making homemade dough?” He looked at me like I grew two heads. “How else are we going to make pizza?” I tilted my head. “I learned how to cook from my mom. Both my parents immigrated to New Jersey from Italy. That’s where I was born though. We moved to New Jersey when I was 4.” “We were practically neighbors then. I am from New York. Born and raised. But not the city. I am from Buffalo.” I said and he grinned at me. “I’ve been to Niagara Falls before when I was in high school. It was a class trip” he shrugged and went back to measuring flour. I laughed. I didn’t want to mess him up, but I bumped him over a bit, so I could watch
Tyler pulled back from kissing and sucking on my neck, and I didn’t want him to stop, but if we were ever going to have dinner, I guess we had to. I tugged him closer to me again, since he pulled away, and I gently kissed his lips again. “We should probably finish making dinner.” He chuckled, and I grumbled. He took my hand and helped me off the counter, and then he put his hands on my hips and turned me around to face the counter, with him right behind me. He showed me know to knead the dough and stretch it, and he wanted to teach me how to toss it in the air, but I refused. We were both laughing, while getting covered in flour.I stepped from in front of him and watched him toss the dough gently through the air to stretch it enough to fit the pizza pan he brought over. He was a miracle worker with those hands, and I couldn’t wait to have them exploring my body. I blushed at the thought. I have never been like this before. What is he doing to me? He c
He made me look at him, and straight told me, never be embarrassed around him. I went to bite my lip, nervously, but he made sure my lip stayed out from between my teeth, by tracing my lower lip with his thumb. “You are beautiful, and now I understand what drew me to you at the bar. Those lips. And looking into your gray eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with gray eyes before. They are amazing.” I sighed. But it was a happy sigh.I have never felt the need to be close to anyone. I have never felt like this for anyone. I never wanted to date or be intimate with anyone. There was something about him. I couldn’t name it. I couldn’t put words to it. But it was just him. I was drawn to him. I wanted him. Forget me being a virgin. With him around, I don’t think that would be the case for long. But I was not going to push it.He leaned down and kissed my forehead before turning to cut the pizza. “Slices or squares?&rdquo
I got to working on this past week’s work orders that haven’t been finished, on my behalf. And I got them done before morning muster. Even though I am at home, I think it is easier for me to work from home, because I don’t have my junior sailors coming in and out of my office with complaints or just to talk. I was able to get everything I missed done, and even had organized the work orders into online files, and sent them back over to LT. I am sure, he would tell me to start sending them to YN2, or Chief. But he did pop up on a messenger app and said great work. He never really considered having someone work from home before, but he figured if anyone could do it, I can.I still will mostly work in office; I didn’t mind being in office. Honestly, I am chomping at the bit right now. I am going stir crazy. Plus, I wanted to know who our new female sailor is. I have the feeling it was the small blonde I was in the elevator with. I mean, if it is, I am scre
I thought that after dinner we would just go back to the apartments, but I was wrong. He took me to a pier, and we got ice cream and walked along the water’s edge. It was simple, but the sweetest gesture ever. I was never one for flashy and expensive things, so going to a boardwalk or a carnival or the pier was definitely in my ballpark. One, because it shows you aren’t showing off your money, and two, because it shows you like to have fun, with the simple things in life. Spending time together, versus, making a scene for everyone around you. Yeah, I prefer simple. We must have stayed out past 11, because by the time we got back to the apartments, most of the stores and stuff were closed. Geez, everything here closes early. I am from New York; things don’t close until like 4 am. But either way, we had a great time together. Just spending time and talking. I was feeling a bit better on the confidence scale. I still have to deal with the new sailor in the shop
I made the long, slow trek to the elevators from my spot in the car park and pressed the button to leave the darkness of the garage behind me. The doors opened and I stepped inside. There was this tiny little blonde woman. About the same height as me, but a smaller frame. She had to be naturally skinny, unlike me. I had to work hard for it. She had the perfect body, and the brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. I didn’t make it a point to ogle, but I had a bad feeling about her. At the exact moment, my phone buzzed, and it was Tyler.I answered the phone, “Hey, what’s up?” He went off on a tangent for a minute. He was complaining about the new sailor in our work center. How she was all over him and kept trying to flirt with him. I kind of laughed. It was unsettling but I knew if another woman was involved, I would have competition. He also said he couldn’t wait to see me when he got out of work, which would be soon. I told him about finally gettin
I woke up to a text from Tyler telling me good morning and he will see me when he gets off work today. He also asked if I wanted to go to dinner with him, as long as I was feeling better. I rolled my eyes; I was cranky when I first woke up most mornings. I am so not a morning person. But I replied ok. And told him I felt fine. And that I would see him later. It felt weird that I had the rest of this week off. I think I do like my new command. They are understanding especially since I suffer from chronic migraines, and now we know the source of it. I got out of bed and went and started the shower. I need to wash my hair. From not feeling well, I have been neglecting washing my hair. Makes sense because when I get migraines, all I want to do is sleep or throw up. I stripped out of my pajamas and stepped into the shower.I showered and washed my hair, and then I got out, all wrapped into a towel, I brushed my teeth. I went and got dressed, and since I didn’t have to
At some point I fell asleep on the couch with some random cooking show on, but I woke up to my phone vibrating so much that it fell off my coffee table. The crash of it hitting the floor, jolted me awake. My migraine was gone. Finally. I reached down and grabbed my phone. I had several missed calls from Katie. The most recent call was from Tyler. I decided I should probably talk to Katie first because I haven’t talked to her since the dinner with her and Tyler. I was kind of being a bitch.I sent her a text telling her about my migraine and going to the ER, and that I finally felt normal again. I didn’t apologize for my mood or behavior though. If she wanted to talk about it, I’ll let her bring it up. She replied almost instantly, and said “Thank goodness you are still alive, I was getting worried there.” At that, I laughed. She then proceeded to tell me that she ordered food to have delivered to me, because Tyler ran into her and told her I wasn
“You are either going to medical when they open at 8am, or I am taking you to the emergency room right now. Deal?” Tyler told me sternly. I could tell he really is worried about me. All I could do was nod, before another wave of nausea hit me. Tyler kept up with keeping the wash cloth cool and dabbed it on my forehead or on the back of my neck then entire time. I was grateful for the small action. Out of nowhere, my mind wondered to what would happen if and when I ever got pregnant. I have no clue why that’s where my mind went, but it did, and it scared me.I have no clue how long we were in the bathroom for, and honestly, I didn’t care. I was exhausted. I don’t know when, but Tyler texted LT and told him, he was taking me to the emergency room, I am sure LT knew Tyler lived next door to me, and LT also already knows I still don’t have a vehicle. So, Tyler made me get dressed so he can take me to the hospital. It was useless to go to medica
I tugged on his hair as he kissed my neck, but I didn’t want him to stop. I knew we had to though. I tugged harder and it made him stop kissing me. The look in his eyes was pure fire and lust. I had to look away because I could get lost in those eyes. “We can’t right now.” I whispered to him. I didn’t dare to look at him. I was looking down and away. He took one of his hands and cupped my face and made me look at him. “It’s ok. I will wait forever if I have to.” I did not expect him to say that. My eyes must have widened at his response because he grinned and kissed the tip of my nose.I pulled back and went to stand up, but he wrapped his arms around me tighter. “Want me to stay with you tonight, just in case you need me?” He whispered. I wasn’t sure I heard him right, so I tilted my head, like I was a confused puppy. “What?” I felt dumb. “Do you, want me, to stay, tonight.” He broke it
I don’t know how long I’ve slept but the next thing I know, my phone is buzzing off the hook. I left it on vibrate so I could eliminate noise because of the migraine. But since my phone was on my night stand, it was vibrating against the wood, causing noise. I groggily opened my eyes and reached for my phone. It was Tyler calling. I sighed and answered the phone. “What?” I didn’t mean to sound so mean or rude, but I hated being woken up, especially when I wasn’t feeling too good. “Hey, I picked up dinner for you, I am outside the apartment.” I rolled my eyes and pulled the phone from my ear and looked at the time. It was 7pm. Oh, man. I slept for way longer than I expected.I told him I would open the door in a minute, and I hung up the phone. I noticed once the call disconnected that I had a lot of missed calls and text messages. From both Katie and him. I sighed and heaved myself out of bed and stumbled in the dark to th
By the time the inspections were done and over, my head feeling as if it would explode. I ended up going to get my other uniform so I could change out my dress uniform and changing as fast as I could in the bathroom. But I ended up getting sick. Like really sick. That is what happens when I get a really bad migraine. Luckily for me, I didn’t ruin my dress whites. That would have been bad. At least I didn’t throw up while still in my dress uniform. I had already had my NSU slacks on, which are black, so I could kneel on the floor and not worry too much.I have no clue how long I had been in the bathroom, being sick, until someone knocked on the door. I had my head resting on my arm, which was on the toilet. I had my white undershirt on, but never got to put on my peanut butter top yet. I stood up and washed my face with cool water, to try to make myself feel a bit better, but it didn’t help. I opened the door. It was Chief. “Are you ok? You look like de
