Chapter 12 Met an acquaintance

Fu Chen was silent for a long time, and finally stood up from the bed.

He walked to his desk, opened the drawer, and took out his cell phone. His finger slid lightly across the screen and found the assistant's contact information.

He took a deep breath, pressed the dial button, and the call was quickly connected.

"Mr. Fu, do you have any instructions so late at night?" Assistant Xu's voice was filled with a hint of surprise.

Fu Chen did not answer directly. His eyes fell on the night view outside the window. The night was dark and the city lights seemed particularly cold in his eyes.

"Check what Tong Xiaoge is doing recently."

The assistant was obviously not expecting to receive such an order and was silent for a while before answering.

"Yes, Mr. Fu. Do you know where she might be? Or does she have any special activities in the near future?"

Fu Chen frowned, turned around and faced the window to prevent his emotions from being noticed by the other party.

"No, she didn't tell me any clues. But you can start from the places she often goes, such as her favorite coffee shop, the library, and some of her friends."

"I understand. I will take action immediately." The assistant's voice was full of affirmation and determination.

Fu Chen's voice softened slightly. "Also, this matter must be kept secret, especially from her family. I don't want her to have a harder time coping because of the pressure from her family."

"Yes, I will pay attention to it." The assistant answered promptly.

After hanging up the phone, Fu Chen stood quietly for a long time.

The air in the room seemed to become heavy, and every piece of furniture stood silently in place, as if witnessing the struggle and pain in his heart.

He walked to the window again, leaning his hands against the cold glass, his eyes complicated.

In the cold wind, Tong Xiaoge stood on the deserted street, holding the handle of her luggage tightly in her hand, her heart filled with anxiety and confusion. Her lonely figure under the street lights added a bit of desolation to the quiet night.

She fished her cell phone out of her pocket and prepared to call a taxi.

Just as she opened the app and entered her destination, a familiar black car slowly stopped in front of her.

The car window slid down, revealing the face of the person inside - it was Lin Shuyu.

Tong Xiaoge was slightly stunned. She had never expected to meet him here at this moment. Lin Shuyu's eyes were full of concern and surprise.

"Xiao Ge, where are you going?" Lin Shuyu's voice came through the night wind, filled with deep worry.

Tong Xiaoge's eyes were a little bewildered, and she forced a smile, "Brother, I...I just want to find a place to be quiet for a while."

Lin Shuyu opened the car door with a firm expression, "It's so late, it's not safe for you to be outside alone. Get in the car, I'll take you to the hotel."

Tong Xiaoge hesitated for a moment, looked at the deserted streets around her, and the uneasiness in her heart made her make up her mind. She carefully opened the car door and got in. The car was warm and quiet, in sharp contrast to the cold outside.

Lin Shuyu started the car and asked gently, "Xiaoge, what happened? You look unhappy."

Tong Xiaoge stared at the night road ahead and spoke slowly, her voice choking with sobs, "I left the Fu family and may never go back."

Lin Shuyu tightened his hands on the steering wheel, frowning slightly, "Is it so serious? What did the Fu family do to make you so determined?"

The atmosphere in the car was silent for a moment, with only the sound of the wind outside and the occasional sound of passing vehicles on the street. Tong Xiaoge leaned on the cushion, looking out the window, looking a little absent-minded.

Lin Shuyu noticed her emotions and didn't want to ask any more questions, so he changed the subject.

"Xiao Ge, if you don't mind, how about we go somewhere to relax? It might make you feel better."

Tong Xiaoge was slightly startled, then turned to look at him with a questioning look in his eyes.

Lin Shuyu smiled and explained, "There is a newly opened bar with a nice environment and soothing music . We might as well go there and sit down."

Tong Xiaoge hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded. "Well, maybe a change of environment will make me feel better."

Lin Shuyu turned the car and drove to the other side of the city, where there was a street street decorated with lights that was particularly charming. Whenever night fell, it became one of the most lively places in the city.

The car stopped in front of a bar called "Midnight Jazz".

From the outside, the bar's exterior design is very modern, exuding a sense of low-key luxury.

The lighting is soft and the large windows reveal a warm atmosphere inside.

They got out of the car and Lin Shuyu led Tong Xiaoge into the bar.

As soon as you enter the door, the sound of soft jazz music hits you, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

The interior decoration of the bar is mainly dark wood, with warm lighting, which makes it look particularly comfortable. Several high chairs and long sofas are scattered at the bar and in the corners, and several guests are talking in low voices or quietly enjoying the music.

Lin Shuyu took Tong Xiaoge to a corner and they sat down.

He motioned for the waiter to come over and ordered two specialty cocktails he recommended.

Lin Shuyu handed Tong Xiaoge a carefully prepared cocktail. The soft light left a deep reflection in the glass. He whispered, "Try this. Maybe it will make you feel better."

Tong Xiaoge took the wine glass and took a sip gently. The heat of the alcohol and the sweetness of the fruit intertwined on the tip of her tongue.

She smiled, her first real smile of the evening, but it was soon replaced by a hint of melancholy.

Lin Shuyu noticed this change and asked gently, "Xiaoge, if you want, you can tell me what happened. Sometimes, it feels better to talk about it."

Tong Xiaoge's eyes flashed with hesitation, and finally she spoke softly, with an unconcealable sadness in her voice, "Brother, you know, I have been trying to find my place in the Fu family. But no matter how hard I try, I always feel like an outsider. This feeling makes people desperate."

She paused for a moment, tears began to gather in her eyes, but she tried hard not to let them fall. Lin Shuyu saw this and her heart tightened.

"Xiao Ge, you are a warm and kind person and you don't deserve to be treated like this."

Lin Shuyu comforted her softly. He reached out and gently stroked the back of her hand, trying to convey some comfort.

Tong Xiaoge's tears finally fell, and she looked up at Lin Shuyu. "Thank you, senior brother. I feel lucky to have a friend like you."

Seeing this, Lin Shuyu gently reached out his hand and carefully wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.

His movements were extremely gentle, as if he was afraid of touching her sore spot.

On the other side of the bar, the atmosphere was completely different from the corner where Tong Xiaoge and Lin Shuyu were.
