Chapter 4: A New Beginning

In the following days, Stella Clinton continued to stay in the hospital to take care of her father. Thus, his wound has also recovered. Despite Stella's advice to stay here longer to observe. Her father still wants to be discharged, because he doesn't like the atmosphere of the hospital. And he didn't want to bother his daughter either.

Just like that, Stella had to go to the hospital to discharge her father. Right at the check-in place, she also accidentally met Lucas. It seems that he is also doing the procedure for his mother.

“Are you preparing for discharge, Stella?” Lucas after seeing her, he asked.

"That's right, you're also doing the discharge procedures for your mother?" Stella asked.

“Yes, my mother did not like the atmosphere of the hospital very much. So she asked me to do the discharge procedures.” Lucas explained, though before. For similar questions, he just answered it. But right now, he couldn't understand himself why he did such things.

Lucas quickly went to get the car to bring her back, before going to the company to work. He told his mother to rest and he also instructed the housekeepers to take care of his mother. After finishing the instructions, he left the house.

After a while, Caroline took out her phone and texted a familiar number.

[Carol: Veil, are you there? I have an important request to ask. I want you to investigate for me someone.]

A stream of text messages was returned as soon as she sent hers.

Mrs. Caroline smiled slightly, then quickly sent another text message to the other person.

[Carol: I've always been a rule-follower, Veil. The person I want you to investigate might become my future daughter-in-law, so I want to create an opportunity for my son.]

[Veil: Is what you said true? I thought that kid would be single all the time, but he's already found the right person?]

[Veil: That's fine, he won't worry the lady anymore. So who is the person you want to investigate?]

[Carol: According to the hospital records, that girl's name is Stella Clinton. I'll send you some of the information I got from the hospital records, thank you.]

[Veil: Of course, madam. I will not disappoint you.]

Just like that, the message between Caroline and the man named Veil also ended, she and a few people working in her mansion confided a few things. One of them was probably about the story. Her son fell in love with a girl.

When hearing these things, most people around feel that this is a wonderful story. Because all of them found this extremely hard to believe, after all, they had taken care of Lucas since he was a child who rarely said anything. But after all, they have been with him for a very long time, so they are all very happy for him.

It was getting dark, and a long time had passed since Stella and her father returned home. On the way back, her father confided many things to her. And Mrs. Caroline also received a file that fully records all of Stella's activities and work. Therefore, she is also quite secure when creating a chance meeting between the two.

When she looked at the file of what Stella did in the morning, she immediately told Lucas.

"Lucas, I really want to eat Deilt's food right now, can you go and buy it for me?" Lucas' mother asked with a thoughtful face.

"Okay." Although it felt a bit strange, Lucas quickly responded.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked.

“Can I choose to help you?” Mrs. Caroline asked.

“Of course, mom.” Lucas replied. After talking with my mother for a while. Finally, Lucas drove to Deilt and bought some food.

After waiting for a while, Lucas also received all the items he needed. And then, as he was about to leave, he seemed to have bumped into someone.

A faint sound resounded in the air, seeing the person about to fall. Lucas quickly pulled the other's hand in time.

"Thank you." The other said.

When he heard the other's voice, Lucas was a bit surprised at first because he couldn't believe it. But after seeing the other person clearly, he confirmed it correctly. This is Stella.

"Is it you, Stella? I thought I was looking at it wrong." Lucas said surprised.

"Lucas? Is that you? Incidentally, I didn't think we could meet here or there." Stella spoke up.

"Me too." Lucas quickly replied. The two then exchanged a few work-related things. And then Stella had to leave because she needed to go to her company.

After the two said goodbye to each other, Stella's phone rang. But on the phone screen are strange numbers

Because she didn't want to miss anything, Stella quickly picked up the phone.

"Excuse me, this is Stella Clinton's phone number. What are you…?" Stella asked.

At first, there was no voice on the other end of the line, so she was about to hang up because she thought the other person had called her by mistake. But then a familiar voice spoke up.

"Stella, I'm sorry. Can I see you?" The other man's voice rang out.

"Royle, you don't have to apologize to me. Maybe you still don't seem to get what I mean, you and I are already over. So please don't disturb my life." Stella said.

"Obviously you still love me? Why did you change so quickly? Is it because you changed your mind early?" Royle said loudly, with a hint of reproach in his voice.

"Don't you find this extremely funny? The more you say words like that, the more I think we have nothing to say to each other." Having said that, Stella did not continue the conversation. She hung up the call and went to the office.

On the other side, Royle was extremely surprised by Stella's act of hanging up the call. Because before, he would always be the one to hang up the call first. Because of that, he became even more suspicious of Stella's change of heart soon.

But in the end, he'll probably never find proof. Because he was already wrong.

After coming to the company, Stella also realized that the company she worked for had changed owners. Because the former director has transferred the franchise to someone else. Incidentally, today is the first day that the other person takes the position.

Stella quickly fixed her hair and her clothes. Fortunately, she was born a beautiful person, so she did not need to spend a lot of time on makeup but just applied a little lipstick.

"Stella, our new director is coming. We should check around for a bit and then come out to greet the director." A colleague said.
