At that moment, when Jake and I were still hugging each other facing the High Roller, lost in our own thoughts and fears, my cell phone rang. When I checked who it was, I saw that it was Bruce. I sighed and looked at Jake.

“It is Bruce; I need to talk to him to see if he'll let Peter come here,” I told him, pointing to the cell phone.

He nodded. “Of course, you can talk to him,” he replied.

I walked away from him a little while answering the cell phone. “Hello, Bruce.”

“Is it true that you want Peter to go to Las Vegas?” he asked.

“Yes, I miss him, and he misses me,” I replied.

“You know I can’t allow my son to go there, right?” he said, already making me sigh in disgust.

“And why not, Bruce?”

“If you want to see your son, then come back to Denver. Besides, your anger at me is already getting too long; It's high time you came back here,” he said without any qualms.

“Bruce, you have to clear one thing up. I'm not going back there; There's nothing good for me there except P
