Lanie gave us chips to play roulette for fun, just to make our night a lot more interesting.

“But what if we make a fortune here? What are we going to do with the money?” I asked Jake with humor.

He chuckled as he stacked our chips on top of each other. “Then we will be rich, you and I,” he replied, making me laugh too.

Lanie betrayed us, actually. She brought us here, but barely stayed with us. According to her, she had some matters to take care of regarding her work, so it was up to Jake and me to have fun alone. There was a roulette table in front of us, with its own wheel and betting layout. Lanie had offered chips worth a thousand dollars to each of us, since the intention was to have fun.
