The drive back to their villa was quiet, but not the uncomfortable kind of silence that had once hung between them. This time, it was a calm, peaceful quiet, filled with the hum of the engine and the occasional soft sighs from Isabella. David's hand rested on the wheel, but every few moments, his eyes flickered over to her, taking in her soft profile, the way her hair caught the dim light as the sun set behind them.

Isabella leaned back in her seat, her fingers playing absentmindedly with the hem of her dress. Her mind was full, swirling with the events of the past few days, but amidst all of it, one thing stood out clearly, David had never betrayed her. She had been wrong to doubt him. The weight of her guilt pressed on her chest, but underneath that, there was a warmth, a feeling she had long ignored.
