She was no match for him but she couldn’t let him do whatever he wanted with her in here.
So she darted for the locked door but he grabbed her and pushed her against the wall again.
“Let go of me!”She thundered,pushing him away with all her might.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?Going after Griffin?Making him teach you how to ride a horse?Do you seriously think he’d want you in his bed?!Where the hell did you get the nerves from to go after a man like him?You barely ever responded to my touches and now you want him?!”
Daphne glared at him.
What was he getting angry about?
If it wasn’t because of him,she wouldn’t be after Griffin right now,trying to get him to take her father’s case.
She glared at him and snapped.”This is none of your business!”
Jacob eyed her.”I know what you’re trying to do.You’re trying to make me jealous.You’re trying to get my attention by being around Griffin.”
Daphne shut her eyes,briefly and wondered what she ever saw in him.
Right now,she found him despicable and stupid.
“Let me remind you Jacob that you paid lots of top lawyers not to take my father’s case and I wouldn’t be desperate for Griffin’s help if you didn’t frame my dad in the first place.I’m not trying to make you jealous.Trust me,I don’t give a fuck about you anymore so don’t flatter yourself.”
Jacob glared at her wondering why she was being so stubborn.
“Daphne,you’re mine.Even if I can’t have you as my wife,you must be mistress.”With that,he opened the door and stormed off.
Daphne let out a sigh of relief,glad that he didn’t hurt her but then recalling how vicious he was now made her knees buckle and she squatted on the floor with a heavy heart.
She just couldn’t understand how Jacob could be this mean.Recalling their memories together made her tear up and before she could stop herself,she began to cry,bitterly.
He had treated her like an egg.He had always told her that she was the most important person in his life.She had even imagined their wedding day,countlessly.She had imagined having three kids for him but then he didn’t waste time to leave her for Lucia,to throw away everything they had.
And just when she was trying to move on from him,he was hellbent on making her and her family suffer.
“Daphne?”
Layla’s voice pulled her back to the present.
Daphne sniffed and stared at the door.She froze at the people standing at the door.
Layla,her husband and Griffin.
Griffin had changed into a navy blue shirt and black trousers.
Layla stared at her friend,sadly and quickly decided it was best to call it a day.
“Since it’s raining,I think we should call it a day.We’ll come horse riding some other time.”She suggested.
Fredrick took the hint and agreed with her.
“Yeah,we had better get going now.Mr Reyes,can you please give Daphne a ride?Layla and I have somewhere to be right now.”
Griffin glanced at Daphne whose eyes were red and cheeks stained with tears.
A hard nut twisted in his gut.
He slowly nodded.”Alright.”
Layla didn’t know whether to feel good about her husband’s suggestion.She knew Daphne had been disoriented from her encounter with Jacob and now she has to leave with Griffin.

It was raining heavily.The parking lot was open-air so Griffin went ahead to fetch his car.
After a while,his Mercedes Maybach pulled up in front of Daphne.She didn’t have an umbrella but she didn’t dare to ask Griffin to get out of the car and hold an umbrella over her.
Daphne rushed to get into his car,the rain was pouring down relentlessly.Despite moving as fast as she could,she was drenched by the time she strapped her seatbelt on.
Water dripped from her body and she felt uneasy.She felt he would lash out at any minute for messing up his car.
But Griffin didn’t say anything.Wordlessly,he started his car and drove off.
The ranch was a very far from her house so it would take a while to get to her destination.Griffin had turned on the air condition but that made Daphne to start shivering.
When he got to the traffic light and obeyed the red sign,he reached for the back seat of his car and got a coat.
“Here,put this on.”He said,softly.
“Thank you.”Daphne murmured,taking it from him and immediately putting it on.
She sighed in relief because his coat helped a bit.But Griffin didn’t turn off the air conditioner.He was too busy monitoring the road ahead.
It was a stormy day,hence,there was heavy traffic.
Griffin lit up a cigarette and took a long drag.
“So how long have you been with Jacob?”
Daphne blinked at his sudden and unexpected question but she replied,anyway.
“Five years.”
Griffin’s teeth clenched.
Five years was quite a long time to be with someone like Jacob.
What did she see in him anyway?
Griffin’s eyes fell on her.He was trying his best not to make it so obvious that he was checking her out.
Damn it.
Each time he sees her,his urge to have a taste of her increases.
It gets him so hot and it felt as if he was having a fever.
He cleared his throat and pretended to ask, casually.”How many times have you had sex with Jacob?”
That question made Daphne’s cheeks grow so hot.
But the truth was,she’s never had sex with Jacob.
He said it himself earlier that she barely responded to his touches.
That had been a problem for them at the beginning of their relationship,even Daphne couldn’t understand why she felt so uncomfortable whenever Jacob touches her.
She had always felt she had a problem,sexually.
But Jacob had been quite understanding and he told her that they would overcome the problem together.
Now that she thought about it,that night at the hotel,when she and Griffin had kissed before taking off the masks,she hadn’t felt uncomfortable kissing him,she didn’t feel uneasy or disgusted.
She actually enjoyed the kiss.
Perhaps,her body was never in tune with Jacob’s.
Maybe she was just making herself believe she loved Jacob when she really didn’t.
You wouldn’t feel repulsed by physical touches from someone you truly love,right?
Her eyes dilated.
Does that mean that she loves Griffin?
No,no.
She barely knows him.Plus,he’s going to be Jacob’s brother-in-law.
She just didn’t want to be involved with him.
But another thing was clear to her now,with the way Griffin keeps talking about sex stuff,he really wanted to have sex with her.
Would he perhaps take her father’s case if she gives in to what he wants?
She shut her eyes,painfully.
She knew this was a wrong thing to do.
She would literally be selling herself but so far,she had been unable to convince him by just begging.
If she gives in to what he wants, her father would be free.
It would be worth it,right?
Swallowing her pride and summoning every bit of courage she had,Daphne let out.
“Mr Reyes,if you take up my father’s case.I will have sex with you.And if you want me to disappear after that,I will do it.I won’t cause any trouble for you or your sister.I just want to save my dad.”
