Chapter one
"Again!"I stare to those gleaming suspicious brown eyes. Darting I observe her name badge pinned on the right side chest.
Mrs Karen Howard
"Again I ask you to take a brief look into this picture," the police officer asks with a broad smile."So, you haven't seen this guy lately?".
"No, we haven't!"Kristin responds boldly.
The officer turns toward Kristin ceasing her brows and squinting her eyes very thoughtfully. Heaving a sigh her glare averts back to me.
"The people investigated at the cafe claimed that he was on his way to deliver pizza at the Brooklyn street but," she pauses for a moment meeting my glance thoughtfully."Its supposed to be no one on that street saw him after all"
I swallow harder. Tension hangs in the air my heart pounding.
Mrs Morrison the school principal shifts her gaze to the officer under her glasses." Hope the investigation is over now?".
The officer heavys a sigh rubbing her temples." I'm suspicious about things though"her eyes momentarily meet mine taking my breath.
My heart pounds harder against my ribcage and I could feel my veins throbbing while the blood system seems to run faster than before.
"Where do your parents live?" she asks regarding me under her sceptical gaze.
"Mm...New York"I declare hiding my intense fear.
"Were you at Alexander Maxwell's party last night?".
My hair stood on ends, my face turns pale and I could feel the cold of my hands on my thighs. Paralyzed with fear, chills running down my spine I force myself putting all my efforts to speak up.
"I - I "
"She wasn't at the party!"Kristin at once cuts in between.
Officer Karen Howard shifts her glance to Kristin tilting her head with narrowed eyes frowning confused.
Making a steeple of her fingers she clears her throat. "Dixie told me that Madelyn was at the party last night and was involved in a fight with her, What about that? are you trying to lie to me?"
A wave of terror passes through me.
"No no, I was at the party," I blunt. "It was Kristin did not see me at the party"
Her eyes dart towards me distrustfully."You two are affirmed to be best friends and never leave each other's side, how comes you didn't meet at the party?".
A sting pricks my soul."Well I did not inform her that I was going to the party and neither did she"I shift my glare to Kristin who stares at me with her suspicious glance wondering what could she give as a response.
I arch one of my eyes at her and she hesitantly nods forcing a fake smile.
"Yes she did not inform me and did not know I was at the party either, "she plasters a fake smirk. "I told her I was not well the day before and she might have not known that I - I would be there -".
I clear my throat grabbing Officer Karen's attention before Kristin blusters something unwanted.
"I haven't seen this guy before if I did find some information I would inform you!"I declare putting all my efforts to act normal.
"Dixie also told me that you left the party early can I know why was that?"Officer Karen asks a hidden suspicion in her tone.
I let a soft sigh forcing a smile." Well, exactly I wanted to finish my assigned projects and also I did not feel well at the party!".
" Screw her ass when I find her !"Kristin whisper beside me.
"What did you tell?"Officer Karen suspects her curiously.
"Mm, nothing barely a fly trying to bite my legs" She smirks.
"Well then," Officer nods. "Investigation is over, for now, Mrs Morrison," she turns to look at our school principal who sits stiffly on her chair watching us sternly.
"Furthermore any investigations to be done I would find my way here again!" She says adjusting her gun pouch at the side.
I sigh in relief.
Its been hours since Officer Karen Howard as arrived at the academy with her assistant officer a slim lady with a vacant expression investigating about a boy who disappeared last night in the Brooklyn Street.
Her consecutive questions made me anxious and frustrated.
Officer Karen's assistant picks up the pictures of the guy and puts it inside the black leather file she has carried along when they arrived.
The whole class had been recorded with there statements after Mrs Morrison had granted permission to do.
The inner fear made my anxiety overwhelmed.
Finally, this is over...
I rub my forehead with a sigh.
"And," Officer Karen's voice grabs my attention towards her. "Next Sunday I would be visiting all of the houses on my list of suspects!"
Freezing I stare with wide eyes my eyebrows raised.
My stomach crunched panic ceases me making my cheek warm and my vein throb.
Next Sunday I would be visiting all of the houses on my list of suspects!...
Her words alarmed in my ears again.
I turn to Kristin and see the same manifestation on her face.
Officer Karen clears her throat clasping our awareness. Her momentarily meets us dubiously.
"And, you two I would be visiting you sooner," she says. "Inform the classroom!, thank you, Mrs Morrison, for sparing some time to cooperate with us!" with that she leaves the principals, room followed by her assistant officer.
Fear quacks through my body intensely making my body and thoughts numb.
She will be visiting us sooner?..
"Two of you can go back to the class!".
Kristin nugs my arms trying to focus me to verity and with a nod, I force a smile standing to my feet.
" This was laborious!"Kristin remarks as we walk out of the room.
"I didn't expect this so quick either!" I agree.
I heavy a sigh when we step into the hallway when a familiar voice states a statement to us.
"Finally the bitches are back!" Dixie smirks checking on her nails leaning on her locker.
"Mind who you call a bitch Dixie!" Kristin bristles.
I urge forward clenching Kristin on to her arms impeding her from attacking Dixie.
I squint my eyes frown at her mocking nasty smirk.
"You told Officer Karen about our last night quarrel?" I ask her sternly.
"Yes I did," she arches both of her eyebrows with a smirk. "I wanted her to know what kind of a bitch you are!".
" Stop calling her a bitch!"Kristin threatens to warn her beside me.
I stand stiff and cross my hands to my chest.
"Not all popular girls are bitches Dixie remember that!".
Dixie lets a laugh.
" Go and tell that to your stolen boyfriend Alexander Maxwell!," she smirks. "He would be blindfolded but not me okay? come on tell me what kinda spell you put on him, huh?".
" Spellcasting is your exploit, not hers!"Kristin states harshly.
Dixie giggled.
"Whatever that is -"
"Hey, Alexander and Eric are onto the match!" a voice cries out along the corridor while few of the students rushed passing us.
Casting me and Kristin a disgusting smirk Dixie catwalks following behind them.
Letting a heavy sigh I rub my hurting head.
"This is horrible!" I remark.
"She is!" Kristin agrees.
My heart pounds again when my thoughts run back to the words of Officer Karen.
She told she would be visiting us in no time.
Chills run down my spine my stomach crunching.
What if...
My thoughts divert to that gorgeous ocean blue eyes.
Alexander
Will he be the same friend if he knows that I killed someone and hide them in my back yard?..
Chapter Two"So, he was a pizza guy?"I sigh. "I guess he was?"."What do you mean guess," she says. "He exactly is! he works at the cafe at the corner of the Brooklyn Street!".A sting of fear passes through me.I slump on to the edge of my bed rubbing my forehead. Thinking about the situation just made me paranoid and chills ran down my spine." I did check on him he was wearing a normal white tee and blue jeans!"I say trying to recall the appearance of the stranger. "I didn't see him carrying a pizza box"."Maybe he was on his way after delivering it?"."I don't know"I raise to my feet and walk towards the room window which has a clear view of my back yard.My eye lingers on to the beautiful planted red Roses. The tight buds had begun to open. A gentle breeze passing by touches its body and makes it shiver slightly dancing in a slow rhythm.I heave a sigh."I'm afraid of Officer Karen, she sa

My body feels cold and weak. Quivery, my muscles twitching I rub my forehead confused."Where am I?"."Madelyn, "I hear a familiar voice beside me. "Are you okay?".Slowing moving I met Kristin's grey eyes."What happened,?"I ask her. "Where am I?"She regards me for a second frowning before she answered my question."You passed out as soon as we walked out of the class!" she ceased her brows together."What!?,"I blurt weakly. "Passed out as we came out? didn't we just walk along the corridor?".I stare gloomily, confused at her."Walked? wha

A wave of nausea hits me with rising panic and I hold Kristin's shoulders. A cop was right there in front of my house porch, while a dead body was buried in my backyard under the rose bed. There were no roses in my garden. I got it soon after the burial of the body, to cover the place. My heart pounded with a dread twist in my gut. What if I get caught? How will I explain this to my parents? Will I end up in jail forever?Sighing Kirsten pushes my hands off her shoulders.
