Dakota POV . . I tried to sleep and just forgot everything that I saw that evening, but heck, who was I kidding?! I had already rolled on the bed many times, but still, my mind was wide awake. "Huh?!" I jolted on my bed and sat up, staring blankly at the darkness. There was only one dim lamp serving as my light in my room. Although there were light posts outside the villa, and they were on from the evening till the morning, the navy blue curtains were blocking them from penetrating my room. I wiped the sweat on my forehead and planned to go downstairs to get some water. I remembered I skipped dinner, and now it was past midnight. However, I couldn't feel any hunger at all. I guessed I lost my appetite because of the two annoying jackas*s in the house. Where were they now anyway?! I stealthily crept downstairs and headed to the kitchen to get a bottle of water. I was about to open the fridge when suddenly somebody clamped my mouth and hugged me from behind. I was restrained
Dakota POV . . "Are you sure about this?" My best friend, Amy Leah, asked me for the nth time. I planned to leave New York for good. I would like to go back to London and just help my brother with the family's business. Warren was now the CEO of Bailey's Enterprise. The business company that was once led by our cousin Liam, Amy Leah's deceased husband, a long time ago. "Yes, Ams, I am very sure about it. And please don't tell your husband about my whereabouts. Although I know for sure that Martin wouldn't mind, I just want to play safe here. Desmond's family is my enemy and Martin... is one of them now!" I took a deep sigh, thinking about everything that happened in my life since I met that gorgeous-looking but as*hole mafia god. Amy Leah sighed. "I think I can't stop you anymore. I'm going to miss you, Kota. Please keep in touch, okay?!" She hugged me tight, and this time, I couldn't help but be emotional. I told myself not to cry in front of her, but I guess that wasn't e
Dakota POV . . "Why are you leaving? And where are you going?" He clasped my hand that was resting on the table. A sullen look laced on his face. "Dakota, is there something wrong?" "Paul, Martin and I broke up!" I confessed. I pursed my lips to restrain the tears that were about to leak. "I am going back to London. I miss my life there. Also, I want to help Warren run our business!" It was also one of the reasons why I had to go back to my country. I called Warren the other day, and we talked about it. He said he was always swamped with the tasks and responsibilities of running Liam's company, The Bailey International. Aside from having a major in fashion design, I was also interested in marketing. I had a double course when I was studying. It was a grind to the bones, but I could say it was worth it. "Well, what can I say? So, I shall see you there then!" His smile was off the roof, and I was also stunned at his response. "What do you mean? Wait, are you also going t
Dakota POV . . "Martin?!" Paul repeated with a question. He glanced at the door but there was no one there. "Kota, are you alright?" "Huh?! Oh! Yeah! I am absolutely alright!" Who was he to stop me? He broke up with me after everything that I had done to him. So, who was he to control me now. "Paul, let's dance!" I placed my hands on his shoulders. "Now? Where?" Paul was confused and thought I was just kidding, but when he saw my serious look, he sighed. "You mean on the first floor? Sure, you want to have fun tonight, huh?!" He smiled and intertwined my hand with his. "That's why we are here for, Paul. To have fun. Besides, we're both leaving this place soon, so let's put a lot of memories here, shall we?!" I winked at him, and he just chuckled. We both went downstairs after closing the VIP room and talked to the server to just place our order on the table. Some of the people from the other VIP rooms did the same thing. The music was at its loudest, and the cheers
Dakota POV . . "Dakota Weasly!" his voice was like thunder startling both of me and Paul who were in the middle of a heated kiss in front of everyone at my best friend's wedding. However, instead of stopping, Paul even deepened our kiss, his tongue swirling inside my mouth searching for my tongue. I couldn't no longer focus, my side glances were on the man coming with big thunderous strides. I hastily pushed Paul when I saw Martin was now just a couple of meters away. Not that I could measure our distance, but his expensive manly cologne assaulted my nostrils. If there were alarms here, they would be ringing now. DANGER! Paul halted when he noticed I was no longer responding. He condescendingly held his head high and faced Martin while his hand was on my waist, holding me firmly, for he noticed my legs wobble. I was on the verge of dropping to the ground. The face of this scarred-face mafia boss didn't seem to scare Paul. Not even a bit. Not that he knew he was a mafia,
Martin POV . . "Hah!" I swiped all of the documents on my desk out of fury. The scene of Dakota kissing that surgeon couldn't get out of my head. "No one has ever defied me before, woman!" I roared, lifting the laptop and throwing it out of the wall, creating a loud crash. "Martin!" Desmond's baritone voice revolted at the entrance, slamming the door of my study room open. "Goodness sake, you've got to calm down!" he roared back upon seeing the mess I made. "You know d*mn well that was already me, calming down, Desmond. If not for that temptress, I've already put a bullet in that bastard's forehead!" he knew well how I could turn a lovely occasion into a horrible one. Weddings or birthdays, if I was provoked, I could turn them into bloody funerals with just a snap of my fingers. My blood brother raked the strands of his silky hair as he went back and forth in front of me, murmuring something I couldn't understand. "Questo è un disastro. Perché ho dovuto invitarli al mio m
I groaned as I woke up, my head was splitting in half. Did I drink too much last night? I couldn't even remember how I got into my room. "What time is it?" I whispered, talking to myself. As I glanced at my wristwatch, I hastily got up. "F*ck! Two in the afternoon?!" I had an appointment at 11 o'clock! I picked up my phone on the table and called Luke right away. "Boss?!" he answered. "Why did nobody wake me up?!" I roared. "Did I not tell you how important my appointment was?!" I yelled at him. Even on the phone, I could feel his fear. "Boss, we tried, but Madam Shantel said she'll take care of your appointment with Mr. Vianchi!" Luke answered, his voice quivering. "What?!" my roar was louder this time. Who the heck gave her the authority to deal with my affairs? What time did she arrive here? Was that early?! "You call Shantel now!" "Right away, boss!" he was about to hang up when I stopped him. "Wait! I'll call her. I'll take care of it!" "Okay, boss!" "Next ti
"I want everyone to fix this stuff before your boss arrives!" I could hear Shantel commanding my staff inside my office. "See this?! They are not well-organized. I will give you till six in the evening to finish all of these!" her madam aura anchored in her voice. I cleared my throat, earning all of them a glance at the main door. Shantel gradually turned around and met my serious face. She sauntered with grace in her one-piece white business attire, which hem was an inch above her knees, hugging all the curves she had. The beige stilettos she was wearing highlighted her flawless legs. Her brunette hair was flowing gracefully at her back. As I continued checking every inch of her, my eyes caught sight of the diamond necklace hanging on her lovely neck. Before I could talk, her hands had already wrapped around my neck, and my nostrils had my nose sniffing for a familiar perfume. "Martin, finally, you graced us with your presence, our dear boss!" she sweetly uttered. "Hmm!" I he
