Adira
That was two years ago and he was still just as handsome and almost cold. Though he did not know he'd met me.
"Charlie, down. Heel," I called out to the 120 pound rottiweiler who had been my constant companion for the last 6 years. He came right to me and sat down at my feet. I rubbed his favorite spot behind his ears as Gio called out to Valentine.
"Son, come meet Adira. You've seen her prints at the office and probably many other places now," Gio said smiling with pride.
Valentine stood to his full height and walked over to where we were standing. I kept one hand on Charlie's head letting his presence calm me and vice versa and held the other out to Valentine. He smiled a smile that didn't quiet reach his eyes as his large warm hand engulfed mine. I had forgotten how tall he was as well - 6'5'- as the last time we'd met I'd been wearing heels that were much taller than the tims that were currently on my feet.
"I'm sorry we're both a little dirty but it's nice to meet you," I said softly.
"Nice to meet you too. I'm sorry I've got to run father. I'm meeting the guys for dinner tonight. I'll catch you in the office tomorrow?" Valentine asked his father as he stepped away from me. I felt a little relived that he wasn't staying.
"Yes, of course. I'll see you in the morning, drive carefully son," Gio said giving his son a quick embrace before turning back to me. I watched for a minute as Valentine folded himself into his car before Gio called my attention.
"I had them prepare your usual room for you and dinner is in an hour if you'd like to freshen up maybe?" he said smiling and gestering me into the house. I smiled and walked ahead saying "Yes thank you. There's probably a pound or two of sand between me and Charlie."
After bathing Charlie and then myself I threw on an old sweatshirt and some shorts before heading down to join Gio for dinner. I grabbed my bag and threw it in the media room before making my way to the dinning room.
"Hi Adira hon. It's so good to see you back. I've made your favorite," Susan said as I entered the room. She set down the lasagna and came over giving me a kiss on the cheek. Charlie was jealous and barked at her playfully so she bent down and pet his head. "I've miss you too Charlie. And if you'll follow me I've got some treats for you too," She said to him. He wagged his little nubby tail and looked to me for permission. I nodded my head and said "Go on" before I took my seat next to a smiling Gio. Charlie followed Susan back to the kitchen where she probably had some fresh raw steak waiting for him.
We discussed my month in Egypt and how my brother had actually made it out to see me for a few days. It had been a few years since we'd seen each other in person as his ilustrious military career kept hiim busy. I told Gio about all the projects I had completed - almost double what I had planned at the start of the trip- and we talked about what my schedule would be like now that I had returned.
I'd already made almost a quarter million from the contracts I took for the Egypt shoots and that didn't include all the extras I had gotten done as well. I had been working almost non stop for the last 3 years as the work I'd begun right after college had finally started paying off and I was able to pick which contracts I wanted to take. I wasn't 100 percent sure on my schedule yet as I was waiting on emailed contracts for a few tenative events. It was the beginning of March and even here in New York the weather was a bit unpredictable.
I asked how things had been here for him and we discussed some new mergers from the financial branch as well as a new aquisition in the publishing sector that Valentine had closed the deal on finally. I was glad to hear business was booming for them as well. We discussed some charity events that his company was looking at sponsoring and we discussed some ideas that I had this year as well, some of which I had already signed up for. Gio's wife, Aria, had been big on charity and giving back from the time they'd made their first million and was an actual division under the umbrella of his company. He gave personally, and professionally and ensured that his team did as well.
That was actually how we'd met. I'd applied for the AR scholarship and Grant program my senior year and had been one of the 5 accepted. They'd been impressed that despite losing my mother and becoming imancipated at 15 that I'd been able to keep up with my studies as well as work to support myself. I'd kept myself so busy and even graduated early. Paired with my other scholarships, it had paid for my classes at Yale as well as my small loft and the equipment to get my photography business off the ground.
More and more each year Gio had been handing more of the business end of things to Valentine, allowing Gio to focus more on the charity division. I'd been working as many of the events as I could with Gio since my first year in college - either as a volunteer or a sponsoring business partner and had enjoyed the break from my usual photography stuff.
After dinner Charlie joined us in the media room and while Gio poured some wine for the two of us I set up my laptop. I set it on the table next to us so I could switch out sd cards as we went through each one. We settled on the sofa with Charlie curled between us keeping my feet warm as we began going through the shots.
GiovanniI always watched Adira's photojournal entries when she posted them online so I was able to keep up with most of her shoots as she vlogged quite a bit of them. But seeing the final photos was something entirely different. I listened to her talk about each shoot and was glad to see her smiling and laughing as she told me her stories. She had finally been making really good progress with her anxiety and it was really starting to show in her work and what she was capable of doing. She had been participating in more of them in front of the camera again and had even picked up a few side jobs there, which didn't really surprise me as she'd been doing that more and more. I picked out several to get prints enlarged for the office. I had sold the last set she'd brought back from her trip to Alaska. Clients and associates alike would ask about the photos and after her second destination trip we had both agreed that I would allow them to buy them when she brought a new set, but t
ValentineAfter dinner and several drinks I decided to head back to dad's place as it was closer than my apartment in the city. We'd stayed out late as it had been awhile since I'd had time for dinner with my cousin and friends. I had always kept a few things in my room at his house just in case, but over the last few years my visits home had been much more rare. I texted him to let him know that I was going to stay over and was surprised when he answered.Papa I'm going to crash at the house for the night if you'd like a ride into work in the morning. Si grazie figlio. Will save Toni a trip. Drive safe. When I pulled back up I saw that Adira's pickup was still here and I wasn't surprised. She had a room here too we had just never been here at the same time. My father had taken her under his wing years ago and in some ways I had been greatful as it shifted some of his focus off of me and allowed me to really grow into my own without pressure from him. I knew that she'd be com
AdiraCharlie and I made our way back to my room, a small smile on my face. Valentine wasn't nearly so bad when he was relaxed. And man did he look delicious out of a suit. He was the type of man that could make a potato sack look designer. It was the way he held himself, his confidence just oozing from him. But you can see there was more to him - so much more behind his eyes. And the way his face softened when he laughed...I sighed as I brushed my teeth. I should definately not be thinking about him right now. Or about how I wanted to run my hands down his chest and follow the trail of hair lower... He was a man's man. I had always found chest hair sexy on man, somrthing more primative and utterly masculine, especially paired with that short scruffy beard. Most of the men I photographed now a days waxed or even did laser treatments to be bare and smooth. Each to their own I guess. I laid down on the bed and Charlie laid down behind me, his warmth against my back a sooth
Giovanni"Thank you for calling me. I am sorry they caused so much trouble for you and I appreciate you not charging them," I said, shaking the Chief's hand while pinching the bridge of my nose with my other hand. Valentine's drinking had only gotten worse since his mother's passing but this was the last straw. "It's no worry Mr. Rossi. I was young once too. And I heard your boy graduated Validictorian, so congratulations. Just tell him and Mr. Agosti to keep the partying to a more normal level next time," the Chief replied smiling. Sometimes it paid to be a big supporter of our local police force.I watched as my son and his cousin Matteo were escorted from the cells in the back to the front desk where I was waiting on them. They were so wasted they could barely stand. I scoffed and colsed my eyes taking a deep breath, trying to gain some patience. Tomorrow they would be in for a rude awakening. My driver Toni came forward as we approached the doors to assist with gettin
AdiraThe gallery opening was less than two weeks away and I was stressed and excited at the same time. Though I still had 7 shoots to do before then most of my time would be focused here. I had sent out all the final prints from my Egypt trip, closing out those contracts and only needed to finish setting up the space here for it.I could hear Adrian on the phone with one of the newer photographers that I had invited. This gallery wouldn't just be for my works, it would be a way for new and up coming photographers to show off what they got. It had actually been Adrian's idea to help fill the space and take some of the focus off of me. He had been a find and I honestly don't know if I would have been able to get it off the ground without him. When I had told Gio that I wanted to open a gallery he helped me set up interviews here in the empty building. He acted as the one actually looking and I sat in playing the role of secretary. Adrian was the only one who greeted both of u
ValentineMy father had called earlier and asked that I join him for lunch. I was mildly surprised as he had been in and out of the office a lot this week. I had a meeting at 1 so I asked if he minded ordering in. He said no problem and he'd see me at 12. It was 12:15 by the time I stepped out onto his floor. I noticed the difference immediately as instead of blank walls desert prints now hung. While I had always seen the photos that hung there, I'd never really paid attention to them. They were amazing. I felt like I could reach out and touch the sand in some of them. Adira must have been by.I hurried to my father's office and walked right in. "Sorry I'm late. I couldn't get Craig..." I started before realizing my father wasn't eating alone."Well come in. Don't just stand in the door. Craig is always the worst to get off the phone," my father replied as my eyes stayed on Adira. She smiled at me a little and I nodded back. "Hello. I saw your photos out there. They
Adira"Micah, tilt your chin up slightly. Yep right there. Now look into the lens and lick your lips slowly," I called out, snapping away. "Alright. Head back, arch your spine a little and stroke it. I'm gonna play the audio, just do what feels natural."Micah was the last of the 3 "Tattooed Hotties" that I had today. I had learned early on that it was hard to keep them hard while giving them completely unsexual direction during filming and since I sure as hell wasn't going to touch them I needed to give them ammunition. So depending on where we were shooting I had several options for them, allowing them to choose what made them most comfortable. That was a big reason why I was so popular.Micah was currently listening to excerpts from one of the erotica novels I'd read and recorded. Men won't usually admit to reading it, but hearing it was apparently a huge turn on for them.Micah was close to finishing and I called out to him. "Look this way Micah," I said softly, waiting
AdiraSaturday was a perfect day for the shoot for Emilia and her friends. I had told Emilia that the girls could get ready here together while I set up the sets but I actually had a surprise for them. I was already at the door with Charlie when Toni pulled up and the girls piled out. Emilia came over to hug me and introduce her friends while Toni unloaded their bags onto the porch. Charlie was excited having the girls all fawn over him and even Toni laughed at his antics. I told the girls to grab their bags and head into the first room on the left. Once they were in Toni came over and handed me 4 checks - one for each girl. "Seriously, thank you from me and the other parents. They couldn't believe how little you were charging," He said smiling and shaking my hand. I smiled back and said "Did you tell them you got the friends and family discount?" He laughed and said "Yep I sure did. Now show me to the grill and I'll get the brisket on for you." "You're a life saver. I
