The foreigners

Noah POV:

I can't believe that I'm going to be late for such an important meeting with ROK Studio! My phone keeps ringing, "I can't pick your call right now Lydia" I was referring to her picture showing on my phone screen as the caller, I can't concentrate when she keeps calling. "Common!" I kept horning at the driver of the vehicle in front of mine to move fast since the traffic light had turned green from his neck being snapped earlier.

"Gosh! If there's anything I hate in Lagos state, it will be the traffic"

I kept massaging the back of my neck out of stress, I checked my watch and it was almost 9am, I guessed the meeting have already started since it was scheduled for 8:30am. I picked up Lydia's call immediately it started ringing again to assure her that I'm almost there but her shriek voice made me take the phone away from my ear and put the phone on speaker.

Lydia: "Where the hell are you Noah Gbenga Adewale? I swear she's going to burst my speaker if she keeps screaming like that."

Noah: "Calm down babe, I'm almost there."

Lydia: "The meeting has started and my boss has started asking questions about your absence."

Noah: "Babe, I promise I will be there soon. I was caught up in traffic but it's clear now. Just some few minutes, I promise." I heard her breath down, perhaps to calm herself down.

Lydia: "Be here soon, okay?"

Noah: "I will" I smiled knowing how she can never be angry with me for too long.

Lydia: "Drive safe!"

Noah: "I promise. Now go back to the meeting looking all pretty as always with that signature smile of yours." I heard her giggling before the call disconnected. At least I made her smile, that for now, is okay with me.

I drove into the company and quickly parked my car at the space directed by one of the workers. I made my way to the receptionist who happened to be a young beautiful girl with a perfect set of white teeth that anyone would notice first, as she kept smiling at me. I informed her that I was to attend the ongoing board meeting, which made her frown a little knowing that I was late. I simply told her that I was stuck on traffic. She quickly made a call and soon she gave me directions but not before passing a little paper to me, "call me" she said as she gave me a wink, I smiled at her and took the elevator since the meeting was being held on the third floor. Soon the elevator stopped and I quickly walked out, "wow! This place looks beautiful and well organized" I thought. When I reached the door of the board room, I dumped the piece of paper that had the phone number of the receptionist in the waste bin, kept close to the door" she might be hot, but definitely not my type" I knocked and opened the door.

"I'm sorry for coming late. I got caught up in traffic" I quickly apologized as I entered. I was offered a seat which I quickly took and when I was a bit settled, I searched for Lydia by looking around. I found her sitting close to the young man who I presume is the CEO of ROK Studio. I flashed her a smile and she blushed. This caught the attention of the CEO who made eye contact with me and frowned.

CEO: "So Mr Noah, I'm aware that you own a automobile company and you just started a commercial transportation company also. I mean, you came highly recommended by Lydia Eseosa Osagie, my personal assistant. Please we will like you to tell us more about your company."

Noah: "Hi everyone, My name is Noah Gbenga Adewale, and I am the CEO of Bental car company which was built by my late father. I took over two months after his death and I will proudly say the company has been and will continue to do well. I wanted more in the automobile industry so Just few months ago my team and I introduced Bental Taxify. Besides our mission of selling modern cars in affordable prices, we want to be able to provide good and comfortable cars to others who won't be needing to buy cars over a short period of time, like tourists, visitors and even individuals living in the country. We have modern and sound cars for rental, we have well trained drivers and each car has a tracking device, so we can be able to monitor every car rented out." I gave them more reasons for them to sign up with my company.

CEO: "I love your presentation and I must say I'm impressed with every thing your company tends to offer. I will take your company's offer but I will need more from your company. Some well known international stars and their crew will be arriving Lagos international airport today. For the time they will be here, I will want their information and movement to be strictly confidential. Your company will be in charge of Everything involving their mobility. I hope I can count on you?

Noah: "Sure, you can."

CEO: "Good! I will send you the details of my partners as soon as we are done with this meeting. Their flight will be landing by 11 pm. You may take your leave now so you can make preparations with your staff. We will be seeing each other soon"

We both stood up and shook hands before excusing myself and took my leave from the board room.

I received a smiling emoji sent by Lydia which actually made me smile too. Lydia is not just my best friend but my childhood friend. We grew up together in the same province, we attended the same basic school up to high school, we only got separated when my father wanted me to further my studies outside the country but that didn't stop us from communicating with each other, she knew all my ex girlfriends and I also knew her ex boyfriends. I returned back to Nigeria after the sudden death of my father and since I'm the only child, I took over his company and since then I have made tremendous growth in the company. Now I have decided to add a taxi company to our achievements. ROK Studio will be my first big client' Thanks to my best friend Lydia!
