Oneil and Gwyneth have thought about visiting Geovensia because they knew that Esssi was heading to her flat. But they didn’t imagine seeing them arguing. Gwyneth could only be impressed at how the two ladies tried to reconcile before things might get worse. They were all awkward still. But Geovensia proceeded to break the silence.

“Now I see why you resigned from Willoughby,” Gwyneth said. “So coach, how do you support yourself now given that you don’t have work anymore?

“I have a separation fee. And it is enough for aiding my startup.”

Gwyneth wanted to ask why did the two of them fight. But Oneil prevented her.

“Can I borrow Essi for a while?” Oneil asked.

Geovensia was amused at how Oneil pleaded. “So this is why you brought some food.”

“Gwyneth can also help you while Essi is not around. We just have some things to do.”

Essi didn’t join their conversation. But before she could protest, Oneil had already taken her away. She

Beneath the pounding rain, Essi could finally let out how she was still trembling until now. She cannot make an illusion to herself to make that incident less terrifying in her mind. While she stood hardhearted in front of Oneil and Grant Mercator, she wanted to cry out loud in fear. She was never strong to fight against men who were armed with guns and readiness to hurt her. She was unlike those fearless girls portrayed in movies. The sight of her skin injured from the garden fence as Oneil and her ran away from the men made her feel weaker. She glanced at her hand and it is shaking. The phone is ringing, trying to be still alive against the raindrops. Oneil is calling her. What if Oneil and her got injured? No matter how she projects herself to be emotionless, she cannot deny how it affected her. It feared her to imagine the bullets war against her chest. She ignored his call. She knows that Oneil will keep on asking why she did it. Essi, herself, does not know why. Why di

Who knew that privilege could be an offense too? And no matter how Essi would spend it wisely, she is still to be seen as evil. For the stereotypical narrative has put her in this manner, that every thing is easy to her but at the expense of others. Corrine and Essi are in the same line. Maybe that’s why Corrine didn’t lose face to meet Oneil again in their house. For favors are on her, just like it happened to Essi. When someone bullied her in high school, the parents of the bullies kowtowed to Mr. Arlelle with the plea to forgive their children. She fled from her classmates when they attempted to treat her like a queen. If it were not from having a real friend like Geovensia, Essi wouldn’t have a normal high school experience. But Geovensia has also uncovered her sentiments about how much she tried to be like Essi, as if she is also living a privileged life. Essi tried denying herself from looking how it might her arrangement with Oneil will also affect the man. Ho

Jealousy could be cruel. Although Oneil already thought of many ways to pacify Essi, it is not just enough. For there will always be something that reminds her to hold up this kind of emotional rumble. But he should have noticed why Essi was not contacting or updating him about her activities after their dinner in Paris. She didn’t even tell him that she makes herself busy helping Geovensia for a clothing line startup. Indeed, jealousy is the reason why she practically lived during the past days as if she doesn’t know that Oneil was wishing to be by her side. Oneil thought of coaxing her. He did many attempts already. The first one was by calling her with his usual number. He wanted to make sure that Essi didn’t block him. “Who is this?” Essi asked. There was much flipping of papers in the background. “This is from flower delivery service madame,” he answered after trying to change his voice. “Really? May I know from what shop and who ordered it for m

She knows that her cousin has been trying all his best to comfort Essi. It is Gwyneth’s responsibility to help Oneil. Arranging their meet at Willoughby Riding School is the least that she can do. Her classmates asked if it would be timely since a certain company is willing to donate three horses. “The turnover will be today,” one of her classmates reminded. “But my cousin has no other chance because his girlfriend will leave Bordeaux by tomorrow,” Gwyneth replied. Her classmates are excited as Gwyneth does because this place holds many memories of Essi and Oneil. Perhaps, Essi could forgive him. And they can solve their problems together. Gwyneth’s suddenly rang. It was Essi. “Where are you Gwyneth? I’m already here at the balcony.” “You’re there already?” Gwyneth asked. “You told me that I must be here by 9.” Right, she’s always time-oriented. She never gets tardy. “Just wait Essi. I just need to talk to my classmates

Oneil also wants to scold himself for formulating angry yet unsaid questions to Essi. But how can he stop this feeling? He can only pretend that it didn't bring mixed emotions in him; fury, sadness, and longing. Oneil immediately hid himself when he noticed that Ethan has to leave. Gwyneth also called him for his whereabouts. "I'm already heading to the balcony." Oneil came to Essi with a sullen face. This has moved Essi for his cuteness. "May I know why are you here?" Oh, how he hopes that Essi didn't agree to Gwyneth just because she will be meeting Ethan in Willoughby, too. "Your cousin invited me," Essi replied and then sipped her tea. "How about you? Did Gwyneth invited you?" "Sort of." His eyes was quick to squint and scrutinize that he can use the unfolding event before them as his reason. But before he coul form words out of it, Essi is already watching him. He should at least tell the truth so

Who knew that they would steal time again when they had already been doing it in the beginning? Back then, it was about turning the minutes of the day’s break into something meaningful. But now, it is more ambitious. It is as if there’s no tomorrow that Oneil wanted to give Essi the best. But instead of bringing her to places where they could be alone, he decided for them to stay in Willoughby. This is his non-verbal declaration that he wouldn’t let Ethan have his way to earn Essi’s heart. The arena blends them with other people as they watch the showjumping. Veterans and rookies are showing talents with their seasoned horses. While they are watching, he suddenly received a call from a mysterious number. He answered it anyway. “Sir Oneil, may I know if you are with Miss Essi?” Victor asked. “Yes, why?” “I couldn’t seem to contact her. Her phone is out of range.” “She’s with me. We’re both reconciled,’ he answered after moving a little away from

Oneil returned to the mansion wondering how he can bust out Ethan’s men without noticing it. Whether Ethan has something to do with the attack or not, it still cannot be denied that it worried Essi so much. She kept having nightmares. As her man, he wanted to warn them off and not mess with him anymore. “Oneil, where have you been?” his mother asked when he passed by the hallway. She’s already halfway on her magazine and tea but she left it to check Oneil. “Did you eat already? Let me prepare for your late lunch.” “It’s alright. I already have one,” Oneil replied as he halted on his tracks towards his room. He looked for Frederick. His mother told him that he is on the second floor, dealing with Grant’s great grandchildren. Oneil proceeded and saw how messy the place is. The boys were challenging Frederick for a martial arts match. Although he politely declined, the kids didn’t listen but attacked him. Other than his training, Oneil is also up for knowing more about the Antareses. This is something that he cannot tell to others, especially to Essi. She might freak out if she will find out that he took this troubling path. He also have no one in his house that he can tell with about this. Sometimes, he couldn't help but wonder if he had any friend. "You have one. But he's married already. And he moved to St. Tropez to start a new life," Gwyneth told him when he randomly asked. "Unlike Essi, you had many friends. But all of them are gone to deal with their own lives. You're left with no one." "But do I at least have someone that I can trust and tell my problems to?" Gwyneth shrugged. "You were so inclined to Grant's most basic principle. He taught you that you cannot simply entrust your personal problems to others. You cannot just show to others that you're weak." Hearing that kind of principle is no more profound to him. He expected it and has

Essi has always believed that meeting people like the Binici Siblings meant a good thing --that be it in business or social partnerships. But what Karina offers to her is quite different. Her words have stronger meaning underneath their simplicity as if Katrina had been always trying to interfere in Essi and Oneil’s lives. “So you people are just engaged. It means there is still a greater possibility for any of you to quit, right?” she asked Essi with a hint of excitement. Her words simply do not respect the relationship between the two. Essi chose to not pay attention to it. But Katrina was bugging her in another way by trying to set Essi up with Wyath for coffee nothings and casual dinner. “I do not have much time. If this meeting does not make any sense, then I won’t go, Miss Binici,” Essi declined. “My brother is willing to marry the girl he likes,” Katrina inserted just to make the phone call go on. “Really? That’s good for him then,” Essi commented but was about to excuse he

When everything got settled, she found herself already bringing the large paper bag filled with the three casings where the jewels in their trinket boxes are placed. Her chauffeur waited for her outside and walked with her down the stairs of the auction house. Her car is also set to conclude her night from the Legalion. But before she took a step, Wyath went to her again. “Essi, since it is rare for us to meet, may I ask for your contact number?” Wyath was implying the personal one. “Okay,” Essi said and gave him her number. “But you should also give yours since my phone automatically sets an unknown number as spam.” When they got done exchanging numbers, Katrina went to Wyath to remind him that they must go home now. “Essi, it was nice to meet you. We’ll go ahead for now,” Katrina bid and dragged her brother to their car. “Will you still proceed to the hotel madame?” her chauffeur asked. “Yes, you can also take your time to enjoy things around,” Essi grinned and reminded him ab

It is the actual bidding night. With the preparation of the lights and the friendly interiors of the Legalion Action House, Essi knows this night shall be friendly to her vision. She takes a simple white dress with puff sleeves and white heels. She takes a silk cloth as her headband. Her appearance for the night is elegance mingled with youth and enthusiasm.“Welcome, Madame Essi,” the guard said upon recognizing her card. “This way please.”Essi followed the red carpet leading them to the Jewel Auction Hall No. 1. It is her first time to join an auction by herself. Oftentimes, she would just accompany a family member when they would like to purchase something from the auction. She continued walking around and not recognizing any familiar faces around the auction hall except Wyath. Wyath quickly noticed her too when he turned around. He approached her with a smile. He even introduced his sister to her.“This is my sister, Katrina. She’s the reason why we’d like to buy some of the Maes

Essi had a simple target in heading to Normandy. The Legalion Auction House announced its 25th jewelry auction. Essi was never attentive towards auctions. But this one sets a great importance in her agenda because it was the jewelry collection made by Maestro Marco. She had two important target items because of the discovery that she arrived upon studying the decoration and details on the jewelry portfolio of her grandmother Priscilla. Two pieces of jewelry are no more in the possession of the Paulsson household. It suddenly became included in the auction series of the Legalion because it is made by Maestro Marco. The first piece was dubbed as Ingrid’s because Essi’s grandfather had especially commissioned the jewel maker to make a bluebird-inspired jewelry as a ready gift for his daughter once she will be brought to the world. And yet the owner, continued sleeping. The second piece was a fancy yellow diamond about 80 carats filled with many more white diamonds on its side, forming l

Victor has to weigh many company concerns. First, for the Amyrgia-Gautarza. Second, to Essi’s Gautarza Company and third, to the Mercator Group. Concerning the first two, he can see the clear directions on how the owners would take their future paths. But for the Mercator Group, he couldn’t see exactly where it even errs or go on correctly. He became an instant breadwinner with a clear source of income because the other Mercators in their humble barn house have to lie low for a while. His great ally on the discussion for the Mercator Group was his father.“Our hope in raising this alarm is to the interim chairman himself,” Paulo said. “If only he could also be cooperative to us.”“I don’t see any reason though that he wouldn’t,” Victor stated. “That is why I talked to him about the deliberation of a new policy concerning the selling and purchase of shares.”“What do you see is the problem about the shares then?”“I see some problems of the old policy. It may allow the shareholders to

Sometimes, amid all trials, one couldn’t help but wonder how others felt for them. It was in Victor especially when he regarded how Mr. Arlelle must have reacted to the fate that chased the Mercators. Yet, hoping to be always in his favor, Victor could only remain in silent and work with perseverance. It must have been a good asset that he was not heard as a Mercator because no one would chase him in the hopes to scoop out a splice of an information that can serve a cup of tea. Victor was on his way back to Arlelle’s office, bringing the reports about the recent confirmations he received on his email. But while he was outside the office, he heard some key people of Amyrgia-Gautarza.“How come that you still keep him sir? Is he not a member of the Mercators? It is quite unsettling.”“How can I not when he is still officially a part of the Amyrgia-Gautarza? And what has he done then that he should be fired out?”“But he is a Mercator.”Victor couldn’t deny that maybe in the business wor

Because of the conversation Lady Imeldine and Latifa had in the dining room, Grant went to them with some mud on his jumper and polo. He was worried that Latifa cried again while no one was watching.A shine light hit his eye when he tried to look at what is on the table. He marched slowly until he could see what is inside the box.“Is this your last jewel that you would sell, Latifa?” he asked because he couldn’t recognize the jewel. It was pretty understandable. Because he was never able to see this ring right from its bidding and until his wife’s death. It was Paulo who kept it because Grant didn’t know about the many things that his wife bought. His daughter-in-law didn’t answer yet but his recognition was also now to the visitor. “Your highness,” Grant said. He bowed even lower because he is ashamed of his situation. Knowing that Lady Imeldine was a shareholder, it would be harder to explain his situation to the royalty.“Please, may you be comfortable in dealing with me for I am

It was surely a grave offense that Louis made only to stain the reputation of the house of the Emirvas. But Lady Imeldine couldn’t even make greater punishment against him by sending him back to their country because he would face more grievous repercussions from the entire royal clan concerning the ring. After all, she has compassion to this lad who was also alike to her, almost impossible to receive the crown. He is but a royal and yet has to live in a manner that could promote his name despite the absence of the crown. So Louis was grounded in the rest house and every inch of his move was under Lady Imeldine’s strict supervision. When he tried to beg to his aunt that maybe he could go with her to talk to Essi, she glared at him.“Isn’t it enough that you made a careless work here?” she snarled. “Louis! You even brought shame to our family in front of the Paulssons.”“I’m sorry,” Louis cried out barely having any sincerity since he said out of annoyance to his aunt’s endless squawk

When the prompt for writing kicks, it is sometimes hard to stop the feeling of typing it all. But when Essi got done, she was unsure on how she should continue her article. Because there was something missing about the details of the maestro. Until she remembered what Marco’s wife said when she asked why is it okay for them to look.“It’s just like our twins are also cheering for him.”Essi’s tears escaped from her eyes. Now she’s doubting if she should tell his story. She tried to call Oneil and glad that he had also picked up.“Why? Are you alright?” Oneil asked because it is still not yet 11PM. It means Essi must be still working for something. “But with all the curiosity that Essi has, she hesitated in asking.“Come on, you can tell me,” almost pleaded because when silence starts to answer, it means a bothersome case.“Did Sir Marco ever tell you that he would like some people to interview him? He’s quite famous as a master jeweler.”“You were inspired to write about him, is it?”
