"Really?" I said as I whipped around in the direction of the voice, "Brian, what the fuck? I thought we were past this?" He held up his hands, "Sorry. Just kidding. You did a lot for us when we didn't deserve it at all. Besides, to be honest, you were the hottest loser I had ever seen." Damien growled and Adam said, "He was with me when we saw her trying on the formal gown and that leather outfit." Damien chuckled, "Now I get it. Yeah. Both of those are really hot. I'm the lucky guy to have touched her in them." Brian said, "Lucky bastard," and punched Damien in the arm, playfully. I said, "Are we done with the dick measuring contest?" Amy and I rolled our eyes and the guys laughed.
Amy and I went to her garden area and talked while the guys talked Alpha stuff. She said, "You look like you're doing well now." I said, "I am, now that Dina is officially dead. She was the only one who was just terrorizing me my whole life. I'm sure there are probably some in the pack who

I stood and said, "While I do appreciate all of the apologies, I have moved past all of that. I hope you all do too. Raise your children to know that treating people like that is wrong. For now, all of you are forgiven. You were when I found out that Dina was the cause of all of it. So, let's put it all behind us and focus on the future now." Everyone applauded and I sat down and started eating the dinner. Damien leaned into me and said, "Looks like two packs have learned from your experiences." I said, "My experiences were also this packs' experiences. They had to know that what they were doing was wrong, but they had a self-proclaimed Future Luna telling them it had to be done." When dinner was finished, Damien and I stood with Adam and Amy at the door of the dining room greeting people and telling them good night when a woman stepped up to me and said, "Luna Abby, I have to tell you that I am so sorry. My mate and I did not raise Dina to be like that. She was just a selfi
As Damien and I made love, I couldn't help but feel more loved than I have ever felt before... even by him. It brought us even closer than we ever were, and we were almost inseparable before. If I thought there was no way I could live without him before, now I absolutely knew, without a doubt, that I would die without him. He is my other half, no more questions about it. I am so lucky to have a mate who will stay by my side no matter what and will continue to love me, no matter how huge I get. When we came undone together, for the last time tonight, I lay in his arms feeling more content than I have ever felt before. I was trying to figure out where that feeling was coming from, when Damien said, "What are you thinking?" I said, "It's just weird. I have always felt close to you, but tonight, I feel like there is absolutely no way I could ever live without you now. I have never felt more loved than I do tonight. I don't even know why." He said, "Because I fell in love with yo
Abby POV I realized, when I saw her again this morning, where I remembered her from. When we were looking at the real-time footage of this pack, before Dina took my parents, I saw her flirting with the vampires. I saw her willingly let one feed off of her. I couldn't help but wonder if they changed her and she was able to mask her scent. There was one way to find out. I walked to the kitchen and asked for a clove of garlic. I scored it, to release its aroma, then approached her. She backed away from me as soon as she smelled it. "Garlic! Ew!" Okay, she may just not like garlic. Let's try this. I took my necklace, that was a cross, and held it out to her. She hissed, her eyes glowed red, and fangs started showing. Adam saw this and he i
After changing clothes, Damien and I took two of our security guys, and left to go shopping. He said, "So, where would you like to shop, my Luna?" I said, "I have never shopped in Union Station. Why don't we go there?" He smiled and said, "I would love that. I want what makes you happy." As we are riding in the back of a Hummer, I slide close to him and rest my head on his shoulder. I said, "You are so comfortable." He chuckled and said, "Comfortable? That's not something I hear every day." I said, "I can always totally relax in your arms. I love that." He sighed and said, "In that case, you're comfortable too. I always totally relax when I'm holding you." I said, "It's that damn mate bond." He said, "Okay. I really want to hear the story behind that saying. you and your parents say it all the time. So does Kayla." I laughed and said, "Okay. I will tell you about it over dinner at the mall." He raised his eyebrows and said, "You're really going to make me wait?" I said, "I d
I said, "Okay. The story behind the damn mate bond." He laughed and said, "It's kinda been driving me crazy since the first time I heard someone other than you say it. At first I thought you were saying it because you were worried about me hurting or rejecting you." I said, "At first it was. But that's not where it started. It started with my grandparents, actually. My mom's parents." "The one thing you need to know is that my grandparents are like my parents," I said, "They are the perfect example of what the mate bond should look like. Madly in love since day one, but my grandmother was like me. She was a pack omega in a very cruel pack. She has scars all over her body because the pack used silver on her a lot. Knives, whips with silver-dipped tips, you name it. Her pack held a ball for unmated wolves and invited other packs. That's how she and grandpa met." My grandfather was the Beta in Cold Springs Pack. His brother, Gabriel's dad, was Alpha. They went to the ball and m
When we were done with our shopping trip, we went back to Silver Moon Pack to see if there was anything else we can do for them before we go to the next pack on our itinerary. Adam said, "There is one more thing we need Abby to do. Abby, do you think you could go through your old house to see if there is anything your parents may have left that they would want?" I said, "Sure." So, Damien and I went to my old house and, as soon as I looked around, I started thinking of all the good times in this house. They were the only good times I had, with the exception of the time at Kayla's house. As we looked around, Damien walked into my old gym and said, "They left all of your old equipment." I said, "They did have to leave in a hurry." Damien agreed and said, "Why don't I send a crew up here to completely empty both houses and clean them for Adam?" I said, "Then mom, dad, Leah, and Beau can go through all of their stuff and see what they want, and what they want to give away. Good
When we got to the pack, I noticed that they had their own little town set up with shops of all kinds, a school, and a post office. I said, "Does anyone venture into a human town at all?" Beta Rule says, "No, Luna. They are all afraid." I said, "How are humans supposed to get any other idea of what you are if they aren't exposed to you?" He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Beats me. That's the same argument I've made." I said, "When was the last time a human actually ran into one of you?" He said, "The last recorded one was fifty years ago." I said, "Okay. A lot has happened since then, and humans actually want to see a werewolf." Alpha Arnou says, "The werewolf and vampire books." I said, "Those books have been turned into movies, and people are actually choosing if they want to be on the vampire side or the werewolf side." Alpha Arnou and Beta Rule laugh and say, "If they only knew the truth." We all laugh together as we enter Alpha's office. The Alpha's office is not som
One of the men on the council furrowed his brows, "Would you care to explain that statement?" I said, "Certainly. You see, it is in our basic nature to protect. We protect our mates, our children and our pack with a fierceness that cannot be matched. When we love, we love with everything in us. There is no divorce in the wolf community. The Moon Goddess, our creator, sends our mate. We normally only have one mate for our entire life. That mate is the one who completes us; the other half of our soul, if you will. If our mate rejects us, we feel it in our heart. It is a physical pain that is awful. If they don't get a second chance mate, their wolf can die, then the person dies." The woman on the council said, "That sounds so romantic." I said, "We don't see it as romantic. We see it as everyday life. There are instances when a wolf can go mad. If they are rejected or banished from the pack. Those are the two main reasons. When this happens, they usually end up having to be put down.
