Queen Winnie said, "I have verified that it is Dahlia that he is working with. She's not good at black magic, but she knows enough to make life harder for people. I really don't think any of the others would give him the time of day. Black Magic Witches are very self-centered. If there is nothing in it for them, they have no use for it. It is very rare that they participate in anything outside of their coven. I left a message for a contact of mine in that coven, to see if they are participating, just in case." I smiled at Queen Winnie, "Thank you so much!" She said, "Did you send a couple extra lightning bolts for me?" I nodded, "Straight to the nuts." All the guys grimaced, but she smiled, "Thank you." I looked at everyone and said, "That was the guy who shot me." I heard a resounding, "OH," of understanding, then applause. I smiled wide and bowed to my audience, from my chair.
We spent the next four hours planning our defense, when Queen Carina walked out. She came b
If you liked this chapter, please leave a gem. I would also love to read your comments. I may not be able to update for the next two days. My husband and I will be going out of town for our anniversary. Thank you for reading my books. I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate you.
I laughed all the way to our bedroom, because Conri was in a huge rush to get there. I said, "You can take your time. I'm not going anywhere." He said, "The way things have been going lately, I'm not taking any chances." I laughed harder as we got to our room. I opened the door and he wheeled me in. I said, "I would love a shower first." I wheeled myself into the bathroom and noticed a seat in the shower. He walked behind me and said, "I know this is not easy for you. I wanted to try to make it a little easier for you." I immediately started crying quietly. I suddenly realized what a life-changing event this is. I can't help but wonder if Conri is going to bored with me. I was quiet long enough that he moved to stand in front of me. He saw my tears and immediately lifted me out of my chair and held me closely. He said, "I will never get bored with you. Stop thinking like that. You are my life; my everything. There is nothing I would rather do than take care of you... Forever." I sai
I said, "I've been wanting to do that too." I went to the dining room, and Lupe met me with my protein shake. I said, "Lupe, you deserve a huge bonus for doing this for me." I took a drink and said, "Is that white grapes?" She smiled, "It is. Do you like it?" I said, "I love it. I just never thought of it in a protein shake. It's awesome!" Conri took a sip and said, "Can I have one too, Lupe?" She smiled, "Of course, Prince Conri." She walked to the kitchen and came back just a little while later. He took a drink and said, "This is really good." We finished our breakfast and went outside. Conri was pushing my chair through the grass, when we came to a stop on a hillside. I said, "First, I should check my lightning bolt strength." I levitated a huge boulder and asked King Fenris, "Do you need pea gravel for anything?" He said, "We always need it for something." He mind linked to get a truck near where we are. I levitated the boulder over the bed of the truck and struck it with a larg
I said, "King Uther, as much I love that idea, we really don't have time for it now. If it gets really bad, I will levitate myself." He said, "You're right. We don't have time. Let's get going." Conri picked me up and King Fenris carried my chair into the castle. I said, "Where are we going? I can't fight from in here either." King Fenris said, "I have the perfect place that you can fight from and be able to see everyone." He and Conri kept carrying me up floors, until we got to the attic. He opened a hatch door, and there was a huge flat spot on the roof. I said, "This is perfect! Thank you!" Conri said, "Trina and I will stay up here, to fight alongside you and to protect you." They put me in my chair, and I immediately started noticing them coming through the woods. I started sending lightning bolts into trees, making them explode, sending shards into the hearts of the hybrids and the eyes of the wolves. There were screams of pain, then there were tons of bats, everywhere. Blaze
When Conri and I went to the dungeons, the Fae High Court wanted to come with us. As we walked down the first row of cells, we couldn't help but notice they were packed. Queen Winnie came down and said, "Hmm. Just a little overcrowded. Let's do something about that." She stomped the floor and two more rows of cells appeared. Then she teleported some of the prisoners to the new cells. I said, "Thank you, Queen Winnie. You know, you all should be thanking her too." All I got was growls in return. "Oh dear," I said, "A bunch of ingrates. No worries. You won't have to worry about space for long. So, who wants to be the first to talk? I will make sure those who talk will die the fastest. Those who remain stubborn will have slow and agonizing deaths." I looked in the cell farthest down this row. I said, "I'm going to take this cell-by-cell. If you tell me any kind of information about your pack, I will make your death quick and painless." I looked in that cell and said
I've just finished training with Conri. It has been a week since the war with Abel and his minions, and I have taken a lot of great steps since then. I got the okay to eat solid food again four days ago. We celebrated with lasagna and garlic bread. I'm looking forward to our steak dinner tonight (I had to work up to that). All week, Conri and I have been working every night experimenting with positions, and every morning sparring and coming up with new fighting techniques. I've been trying to incorporate magic where I can too. That pisses Conri off a little, because he can't defend himself against it. I always find it funny. I have also started my physical therapy three days a week. Conri absolutely refuses to leave me during it, because the therapist is a male and he has to touch me to do the stretches. I always roll my eyes at him. This particular morning, Conri and I are just finishing up our training, when Queen Nina walks in. She says, "Today is your crowning ceremony,
Conri POV When those doors opened, I had the perfect view of her. Good Goddess! I am the luckiest Lycan on Earth! She is being pushed down the aisle by Chloe, with her arm in my dad's. She looks so regal and beautiful in that color. I need to remember that color for the future. Dad pushes her up the ramp to the stage. One of the Elders, Adoff, will be performing the ceremony. When Ashina is in front of me, I smile, "simply beautiful." She mouthed the words, "Thank you." We both turned to face Adoff, and he smiled as he said, "We are gathered here to celebrate the crowning of our new Princess and I know I speak for everyone when I say it's about time." Everyone laughed for a moment, and he continued, "We are all so honored to have a bold, brave and loving Princes
Ashina's POV Conri and I are on the stage, staring out at the crowd. The ceremony went great. I do wish I could've walked down the aisle though. Maybe I will get to surprise Conri by walking down the aisle at our wedding. "Don't worry, girl, I got you," Nyla says, "There is a lot of damage and it's a lot like trying to rewire the Pentagon." I said, "Okay. I trust you. I will just do my best to keep my legs strong." As I'm finishing this thought, I hear a pop. Nyla says, "In the balcony." I look up and find him, still aiming. I neutralized him and another shooter. I refuse to let this mess up our evening. I will deal with this shit tomorrow. I finally get to change into my other dress. I go to my room with my security, my mom and Lupe. When we get there, Trina s
I took a deep breath and said, "I want to thank all of you for coming. It has definitely been a journey getting here, but I'm so glad to be in this spot tonight. I want to let you know that I will do my best to be a fair princess, no matter what. I am not the type to make someone else do my bidding. I will always be right there, getting my hands dirty with you. As long as someone tells me I need to be there." Everyone laughed and I continued, "I want to thank Queen Nina for helping organize and plan this event. I would've been lost without you. I also want to thank Princess Chloe for decorating both rooms for this event. Chloe, the big sister I never had, I love you so much! Thank you." Then I turned to Conri and said, "And I want to thank Conri for loving me enough to stay with me through all of the challenges we've had so far. It would've been so easy for you to reject me because of this wheelchair, but you didn't. You are the love of my life, and there is no way I could live with
Wow. Just wow. That is all I can seem to say these days. My triplets, Jack, Josh, and Brianda are already thirteen years old. Niki is fifteen, Luna is sixteen, and Caleb and Kurt are seventeen now. It’s crazy how time flies. Sylvie is now eighteen. She first shifted at sixteen, and still hasn’t found her mate, but we knew that It’s going to take an extra strong mate to be able to handle her omega powers. There have been several attempts to take her, but she has done very well at defending herself. It also doesn’t hurt that we now have assigned two more bodyguards to her. She hates it as much as I did, but she admits that it is needed. My mom is having her annual ball for unmated species, so we are in my old pack, visiting and letting Sylvie, Caleb, and Kurt go to the ball. Sylvie decided she wanted a leather dress, like the one I wore on the night Conri, and I met. We went, with my mother, to the same leather shop that I shopped in, and I immediately saw a dress that I felt
We were about to start Sylvie's party, when Nico, Brenna, and their twins, Alex and Ashley came in. They were followed by Seth, Shayla and their three children, Kevin, Kasey, and Kinsley along with Seth's parents. I was so happy to see Seth so happy. He deserves that. Lupe and Mike came in with their two children, Caine, and Kaylie. Mike looked happier than I ever remember seeing him. After we got back from our honeymoon, I told Lupe about Mike being the mate I rejected, and I was so happy that none of that mattered to her. She knew there is no way I would go back to him now and I knew that Mike was blissfully happy with her. He came to realize it too and apologized to me for the tough time he had given me. I told him I forgave him and to just be happy with Lupe. That was all I wanted for both of them. Trina has since been changed to a Centaur, and she is a beautiful one. They have four children now and could not be happier. After celebrating Sylvie's birthday, Conri a
So, I'm sitting on one of our garden chairs, watching our children play. It's so hard to believe that five years ago we were handed this sweet little girl who, literally, put peace in our hearts. Today, we are going to be celebrating her fifth birthday. We have never kept her story from her. From the time she was old enough to tell her bedtime stories, I have told her the story of the beautiful and brave mother who gave birth to a child who would be a gift to all in our species. The mother was sad, because her Alpha was an evil man who would lock the child away, if he knew she existed. So, she wrapped the baby in a warm blanket and added a note, asking whoever found her to take her to the king. She knew the king was known as a kind and caring man. The king suggested the Prince and the Princess raise her as their own. They all loved her the moment they laid eyes on her. During all the celebration in finding such an amazing child, the Alpha got very angry and started searching for the
After the reception, Conri and I slipped into Sylvie's nursery, said goodbye, and we left for our honeymoon. To say the honeymoon was amazing would be an understatement. He took me to a private island in the Caribbean, and I was in heaven. We spent our days, laying in the sun, fruity cocktails in hand, and our nights having the most mind-blowing sex we'd ever had. We celebrated being in love, being a family, and, most of all, being best friends. I never imagined in all of my life, that having a mate could make you feel so complete. Conri held true to his word, we went to a restaurant just a few times, but we mostly had a private chef come in and cook for us. I told Conri that I could cook, but he would have no part of it. He just wanted us to relax and just enjoy being together. I loved this side of him. I also loved his playful side when we swam in the sea. I loved jumping on his back and making him fall into the warm water. It was all a dream come true for me. One day, I voiced th
A tall, blonde woman, that I haven't seen in years, stands in the doorway. I hand Sylvie to Conri and wheel my chair to her. I hug her tightly, "How are you?" Maia replies, "I'm doing great! My life is nowhere nearly as exciting as yours lately, from what I'm hearing from dad and Aidinth! I laugh, "What can I say, Things tend to happen in my presence. It's a curse." She laughs and I find out that she found her mate in another kingdom and moved there. She now has six children, and she is over the moon happy. I smiled, "I am so happy for you! I haven't seen you since I was around six years old. I am so glad you are staying for our wedding. I want you to meet my mate and my new daughter!" Maia got excited, "That was fast! A daughter already?" I laughed, "Adopted daughter. It's definitely a story to tell." We went to Conri, and I said, "Prince Conri, please meet Princess Maia. She is Aidinth's sister!" He smiled, "It's very nice to meet you. I heard the story of the way you all
My mom said, "Honey, take the honeymoon. You guys will only get this one chance before life gets crazy. You two need this time for yourselves. Do it while you have an overabundance of babysitters who are more than happy to help you. This will give us some needed bonding time with Sylvie too." Conri said, "What if something happens?" Mom said, "Queen Winnie will come and get you, and teleport you back." Conri looked at me, "You did say you wanted to work on giving Sylvie and baby brother or sister. This will give us two weeks to try." I laughed and said, "Okay. But we spend the rest of today and tonight bonding with this little one." Conri said, "Sounds good to me." We sat in the conference room until Queen Carina, Queen Winnie and King Izzoth came back. They all reported that there had been no survivors, but they couldn't be certain that he was dead. I said, "King Izzoth, if he's dead, wouldn't he be in your realm?" He said, "No doubt about it." I said, "Is there a way for y
I was so wrapped up in the moment, that Conri was able to sneak up behind me and whisper, "See something you like?" I turned around and put my arms around him and said, "You know, I never even gave children a thought before now. I knew I wanted them, eventually, but I figured it would happen on its own." He laughed, "It might help if we weren't using protection." I laughed, "Yeah, that might help. Seeing our families with Sylvie is making me want to give her a baby brother or sister." He said, "I don't mind starting on that right away. Do you?" I laugh, "Maybe after she goes to sleep tonight." He said, "You do know that until she can go in her own room, we are going to have to be quiet too." I said, "Yep. That may be an issue. We'll just have to wait and see what happens." He laughed, "You got it." A knock on the door caused us both to look warily, just in case it is someone who is looking for Sylvie. When the person was let in, she was a bloody mess and barely standing, "He
When we got to the castle, we were met by King Fenris and the warriors. King Fenris was barking orders to his warriors when I asked, "Have you found out how they got past the patrol?" King Fenris said, "We lost two warriors." I shook my head and got mad. I said, "I need my chair. I am not wearing myself out over rogues." Queen Nina was already on it, "Ashie," she yells, "I walk up to her and say, "You are amazing. Thank you." She said, "Just be careful. We can't have either of you getting hurt the day before the wedding." I said, "I plan on just using magic. Conri will stay by me." She said, "That's good to know." I yelled for Conri, and when he approached, I said, "Why don't we go on the roof again. We don't know how many we are dealing with, and I want to be able to heal our warriors as soon as they are down." He said, "Good idea. Dad! We're going on the roof!" King Fenris nodded and yelled, "I'll join you in a minute!" We went up to the roof, and we were met with an unbel
I woke up this morning to the most exciting and terrifying thought of my life. Tomorrow is my wedding! I am excited and anxious and scared to death all at the same time! Conri is definitely the love of my life. He keeps telling me that he's loved me since we were ten years old, but I never have gotten to tell him that I fell in love with him at about the same age. I don't even remember when it happened or how I realized it. I just always hoped he would be my mate. Which is why I was so happy to reject Mike. The guy was a fucking idiot. My Conri, my Prince, is a thousand times better; in mind, body, looks and heart. I know there are not many men who would've stuck by me when I was paralyzed. I also know that, if they had stuck around, they wouldn't have taken the time to research ways to cater to me, without making me feel like a burden on them. Conri has always treated me as his equal and no less. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I will never take it for granted... ever.
