“Hey, Zariya! What are you thinking about that? I've been telling stories here, but you haven't said any word. Are you listening, huh? Are you still with me?” I immediately turned to my friend Kaith because she was almost screaming next to me.
I forgot that I had someone with me because of the depth of my thoughts.
We are currently walking towards the library as she tells a story about the man she chatted with last night. I didn't even hear it all. As far as I know, it refers to an Engineering student at the other University and most likely, they have a mutual understanding of that man again. And now, she's telling me about her flirtation.
I just hope she doesn't end up being ghosted like the other men she talked with. When it comes to ghosting, she is always a victim. I'm not sure why she keeps talking to other folks!
She enjoys men who carry red flags. Is she a reincarnation of a flagpole?
“Huh? Pardon me, but what exactly are you talking about?" I asked. I haven't heard it, to be honest.
When I asked her this, she frowned at me, which suggests she was correct because I wasn't paying attention.
"Okay, I'm sorry.” I admit. "I was thinking about what I dreamed about last night.
That dream came to my mind again. They visit me more often in my dream. It's no longer just a coincidence because almost every night, they are the ones in my dream. There was never a day that they did not visit me. Surprising, isn’t it?
I'm already confused. What does that dream mean?
Who are they? Who are they in my life?
Those five Princes, I can’t explain but I seem to have known them for a long time. I just don’t know how and where we first met.
Kaith quickened her pace and faced me. I was stunned because she was in front of me now and blocked the path. Her shocked face was exposed to me. "Omg! Don’t tell me, you dreamed about the five Princes again?" She even covered her mouth as if she was really shocked. What's new? I tell her about my dream almost every day.
I just gave a nod in response. I started walking again and passed Kaith. She was following me. We were now in front of the library after a few steps. We first looked to see if there's any seats available, and because it was just 10:00 a.m., there weren't many students around. We walked up to the tiny table beside the door, where the log book was kept. We signed and then stuffed our bags into the cabinet next to the table. The cellphone, wallet, notebook, and ballpen were the only items we brought. We walked up to the Accounting bookshelf. I went through each one carefully in searching for the book I needed.
"Maybe you watch Korean or Thai dramas so you might dream about them?" Kaith wondered, resting against the bookshelves. She appeared to be foretelling the causes of my dream.
"I no longer watch dramas," I stated passionately.
It's been a while since I've stopped watching it because of the busy schedule we have right now. Instead of devoting myself to watching, I just review or advance reading.
"What does your dream mean, then?" Isn't it obvious that making that dream come true is impossible? Hello, we're in the twenty-first century! "Unless you have a time machine to take you back to ancient times," she said accompanied by laughter.
So I don't want to tell my friend about my dream because she will just laugh at me. It turns out that I could only have an ordinary dream.
Well, I can't blame her. It was really hard to believe those events in my dream.
She continued to laugh, but I'm still trying to stop her from laughing out loud because we will be kicked out, for sure. Did she forget? We’re in the library now. I think she even wanted to let us out in no time.
"It's just funny, you know. It's really impossible for your dream to happen in reality." She looked at me seriously. “Think about it, you are here in the real world so how can you and the woman in your dream be one? If that happens, how can you go to the other world?”
"I know that. It's really impossible,” I agreed.
I just focused my attention on finding the book I needed for review until my eyes focused on the white book. That’s the book I’m looking for, Intermediate Accounting 3. My problem is, I can’t reach it because it’s on the fourth floor of the bookshelf. I can’t take it because I'm not that tall to reach that. I turned back to ask Kaith for help, but she's not there anymore. Maybe she's busy too on finding the Financial Management book that she also intended here in the library.
I turned around, hoping I could get help. But I didn't see any other students because I was in a hidden part of the library. I am the only one here now.
"How can I get it now?" I whispered to myself.
I bent but it was still not enough to reach the book. Why am I so short? I'm already suffering a lot because of my height.
It’s hard to be small.
I have no choice. Maybe no one can see me and besides, CCTV can't reach where I am. I first made sure no one could see me before I put my feet on the second floor of the bookshelf. I just really hope I don’t get caught because I’m dead by chance.
I was very careful because it was a bit slippery because I was wearing stockings.
Finally, I got it! But it seems that bad luck really stuck with me because I couldn't balance my foot on the floor which caused me to slip.
My downfall is solid. I feel pain in my buttocks.
“Ouch!” I screamed when I felt my head hit the floor.
I closed my eyes because of the pain and dizziness I took.
I didn't know what happened next because I had turned around and my vision had darkened.
“Will she stay awake for a long time? The young lady seems to be sleeping well.”
“Do you know her? It seems like I just saw the young lady in front of us just now.”
"Where did you find her, Nesh?"
Even with my eyes closed I could still hear the conversation of people I felt were just next to me. All the voices I heard were from different men.
“I saw her in a tree in our garden. I can’t imagine what she was doing there. I was shocked when it suddenly fell and lost consciousness after falling to the ground."
I still haven't opened my eyes. I can still feel the pain in my back because of what I reached from slipping. I couldn't even move my legs. I really had a bad fall earlier.
"I wonder, she is not one of our Kharim so how is she in our garden?" He stopped for a moment before continuing. “She cannot be one of the people I have called to be given five grains of gold. She is not on the list too and the lineup of people is organize so it is impossible for her to be one of them,” the man added.
This man’s voice is indeed handsome. As if I wanted to keep my eyes open to recognize the man who spoke.
I didn’t care what they talked about. I just listened quietly.
"Maybe she's a spy!"
My forehead furrowed. Spy? I was stunned and it was only then that I realized what they were talking about and the voices of these men. Their voices are unfamiliar. These are not my classmates!
Wait, where am I?
I slowly opened my eyes.
"Oh my gosh! So handsome!" I’m referring to the man who looked at me now with a trace of concern on his face. “Are you an angel? Am I in heaven now? ” I added. I can’t help but admire the physical features of the man in front of me.
Looks like I'm in heaven!
"She's awake," said the man I was referring to with an angelic face.
He's also the guy with the attractive voice I'm referring to. His face, by the way, is also attractive. It is not impossible if you are truly blessed and God's favorite child. Maybe he was one of the swimmers on the day that flooded with handsomeness. Maybe he’s also diving that time.
Two other men were standing around me, one leaning against the window and the other seated in a chair near the window.
They're all five, if I'm not mistaken. In my entire life, I've only seen these five men just today. However, their looks and elegant dress have become familiar to me, and I am slowly recognizing them.
I remember now! They are the five Princes in my dream. How come they are all here in front of me? Is this a dream again? Am I in my dream again?
But it's impossible! I was with Kaith earlier before I slipped. I was just in the library awhile ago and I don’t know what happened after I fell.
"Kaith!" I shouted to call my friend and find out what was going on.
"What are you shouting, young lady?" My forehead furrowed again when he called me a young lady. He speaks very formally.
"Probably she had a bad fall and it affected her mentality, Ravi." I sat up from my lying down position when I noticed the man who called Ravi was now floating. Floating in the air seemed normal to him; he could do it without difficulty.
I no longer know how to feel and what I will do now out of fear.
He yelled, "Nesh, stop that because the young lady looks surprised at you."
I was not only surprised, but also scared.
"Get her something to drink, Dern, so she can relax."
A man standing next to me nodded. He immediately followed the order.
My eyes opened as his hand abruptly reached out the door, despite the fact that he was still standing next to me. His hand returned to normal a few minutes later, and he was now holding a glass of water.
How did he do that? Who is he? A stretchy man?
What kind of creatures are they?
"Do not be surprised or frightened. We have this power, so we can do things that ordinary people like you can't," said the man leaning against the window.
Can he read my mind?
“Yes, I can read that. Tell me, who are you? Why don't you know us?”
“I don't really know you! Where am I?”
The man sitting near the window stood up. He approached me and pointed at me with his left hand which suddenly transformed. His hand has now become a sword. I heard my heart pounding as he pointed it at me.
I couldn’t move, couldn’t do anything because the furthest point of his sword was pointed at my neck. One move, he might have scratched my neck. Just one mistake, my life will be taken away.
"Are you a spy?" he was looking at me seriously.
What spy is he talking about? What am I, agent? Did I join the mafia?
How can I be a spy? I didn’t even know them and I didn’t know how I got to this place. After all, they should be the ones I blame. Did they kidnap me?
I could not answer out of fear. The kind man calmed him down. “That’s enough, Cozen. She doesn't look like a spy.”
He gave me an evil look before his hand returned to normal and he sat down again. I took a deep breath as my life was extended.
"You are here in the Kingdom of Norland, in a world where nothing is impossible," said the man.
Norland? Is there such a city in Manila? Why is it unfamiliar to me?
“It looks like you fell from a tree badly, young lady. It is better if you stay here first as a kharim of the palace until you recover and your memory returns. ”
"K-Kharim?" I repeat because I did not understand the word he used. I heard that term just now.
“Yes, kharim. You will be one of our servants.”
Me? I will be the servant of these five Princes that they almost killed me earlier because of the unique ability they possess? I don't think so! I don’t want to die yet, not this time! I don’t even know what kind of world they have.
I will put my life in danger when I agree to be their servant.
What's going on? Why am I stranded in this strange world that I could only see in my dreams?
If this is another dream, can they just wake me up? I don't want to stay in a world that isn't for me.
Take me back to my world, the modern world!
"Who is ready for tomorrow?" Shane asked, our class mayor in the Philippine History subject. She was still giggling with excitement. This is also the reason why there is even more noise inside our classroom. Since our Financial Management instructor did not show up, she had the courage to sit in the front and ask us about our field trip that would take place tomorrow. All my classmates are interested in what we are going to do tomorrow except me. I’m not interested in talking about that topic because I’m sleepy. I want them to be quiet so I can sleep.Yes, I'm attitude. Who cares? My other classmates in the front raised their hands and were accompanied by loud shouts from the men in the back. I could not sleep because of the noise that prevailed in the room. Can they respect their sleepy classmate?"I'm really excited!" Kaleela shouted just in front of me."I'm more excited to meet the transferee later than the place where we're going tomorrow!" Isagn's voice was mixed with screams a
"You look confused, Haya. Let me explain to you what's happening now," he said as I couldn't figure out what kind of animal it was. My fear of him still lingered, especially since it had flown down and now landed on the ground.Another thing I wonder is, why do they call me Haya? That's not my name!Maybe I just bumped my head hard on the bus so until now, I'm still asleep and it's all just a dream. Hopefully, it’s just a dream. A dream that anytime, I can wake up."I would like to know first why you call me Haya? My name is Zariya," I corrected him."The word 'Haya' here refers to a young lady, it's also a sign of respect if the real name is not known yet."So, you mean that Haya is a young lady? Miss in English? Is that so? This world is really different. They have their own vocabulary! Seriously?"So don't be surprised if any creature here calls you Haya because you're just a newcomer and not everyone knows you yet."Does that also mean that everything he says is true about what i
Keeion's POVWhen I handed her the bracelet, she immediately stared at it. She became interested in that bracelet because she probably thought that the bracelet would help bring back her memory. She touched the engraved word there several times."Ellie," she read it. "Is this really mine? Is my true name Ellie?"I glanced at her. Her eyes spoke as she looked up and stared at me. Among the three of us, me, Tedson and Arya who are here, I am the only one who can answer all her questions. That is also my instruction to them, not to let the woman in front of us know what happened to her unless I'm the one who will answer her."I already told you, that's your bracelet."She's not just only complaining, she was also naughty. I told her twice that the bracelet belonged to her but she still didn't seem to believe it.If she repeated her question, I would not hesitate to take her bracelet back. My patience is short. I didn’t want to answer her repeated question. That's just a waste of time!F
"Are all the ingredients complete?"Kharim Celia did not bother to arrange the vegetables on the long wooden table, you will notice that it is really durable. I looked around the kitchen. It is very spacious and almost complete with all the cooking utensils. I'm just not familiar with other things because they look old and I can't find them in the modern world. These are probably their tools in ancient times. It is still similar to what is used in modern times, it has improved more because of the technology and creativity of the people.I turned to Kharim Celia who was still busy preparing. Kharim Celia was accompanied by five other waiters in preparing the cooking utensils. They seem to cook a lot. From the door, I stepped closer to where Kharim Celia was. I would have planned to help with the cooking to speed up the work. I haven't done anything yet so I'd better just help."Kalea?" She was shocked to mention my name when she saw me next to it. "What are you doing here? You should s
After King Valor and his five Prince Sons ate, I also helped clean up the mess. I stacked the plates used by the five Princes so that I could take them to the kitchen only once. A servant was assigned to wash the kitchen utensils. Fortunately, it's not me because I'm tired of washing dishes in the modern world, because I'm the cleaner in our house. There is no sponge at this time so it is not motivating to wash. When I had placed the five plates, I walked over to bring them into the kitchen. There is only a little clutter left on the table and my fellow servants can put it away. After I put the plates in the big basin, Kharim Celia called me to eat."Sit there because I'm going to serve you. We are really like this here, after the King and the Princes have eaten, that's the only time that we can eat finally," she said to me while pulling a chair and helping me sit down.Kharim Celia laid the plate in front of me and placed the bread. She also mixed me with coffee beans. I taste it and
"Zariya?" I was blinded when I felt a tap on my right shoulder. I rubbed it first before waking up to look and find out who was the person who had disturbed my deep sleep."K-Kharim Celia? Is it five o'clock?"I'm yawning strangely because I'm still not losing sleep. I'm not used to waking up this early. It often even takes me to eleven o'clock when there is no school in the modern world. We were able to save on food because I had breakfast and lunch at the same time. But Mama's sermon is what I take every time I wake up."Not yet but you need to get up. Today is the day you will report to your Queen Mother," he whispered to me.No one else can hear so why does he have to whisper? There are only the two of us in the room."Princess Amity, you need to come back before the Princes wake up," it added. She got up and went to the cabinet that was just on the side of her bed. She seemed to be looking for something and in a few minutes she handed me a cloak."What is this for?" I asked when
"Ah... Uhm.. I was-," I trembled.I don’t know what I’m going to excuse, what I’m going to tell them. I turned to Kharim Celia but even she had traces of fear and concern on her face."Zariya and I were together earlier."I turned to the person who spoke. He just came in and walked straight to the dining room table without even looking at me. He didn't care that he was the only one not at the table and he was the only one they were waiting for.“She took herbal medicines,” Prince Cozen added. He sat down in the chair that was for him.How did he tell me that I took herbs? Anyway, I'm actually carrying herbs so I'll just ride what he says instead of getting caught."Yes, Prince Cozen is right. I had a hard time finding medicinal plants in the forest so I got up early. I'm sorry if I'm late and I didn't help in preparing the five Princes' breakfast," I apologized."It's better if you call a guard to accompany you to get the herbs then, you won't be late and your safety will also be ensu
"Zariya, you seem to be thinking deeply?" "Huh?" My trance returned when the person opposite me, Ysabelle, spoke. We are currently in the lake now and busy washing the clothes of the five Princes and also including other fabrics used in the palace. This was the day set aside for laundry and Ysabelle and I were assigned to do this work. This is also the first time I have been to this stream. This stream is so clean, unlike the modern world where garbage is dumped, that even the color of the water you would think of coffee because of its earthy color. In the stream of the Kingdom of Norland, you can even bathe in super clean water. Not a single dirt you can see floating. Its mineral-like water makes you soak. If I am not mistaken, this stream is also connected to the lake that is there in the palace garden. It was only a few kilometers away from the palace but even though it was very close, some soldiers still followed us. Think about it, our role here is servant but we also have a
We almost toured the entire vicinity of Simala Shrine Church and it was also close to twilight but until now Prince Arsh still doesn’t remember me. Soon we will go home and leave this church. It's a pity because what I expect is that he will remember me while we are still here because this church design helped a lot to remember our memories when we were still in the Kingdom of Norland."Oh, why are you upset about that?"I looked up at Kaith who was still busy taking pictures in the mini garden at the back of the church. I was sitting dejectedly behind her.I didn’t answer her and the expression on my face still remained. There seems to be no real hope that he will remember me.I will have a harder time reminding him when we get back to campus. Only the History subject connects us and that ‘time’ was not enough to remind him who I was in his past life. But what if he was right?Maybe I was wrong. He wasn't really Prince Arsh. That may be because I miss the Princes so much, I'm just lo
“Simala Shrine Church is a religious structure and establishment here at Sibonga Town, Cebu's southernmost province. In the 16th century, European missionaries, who are Spanish, planted the seeds of Catholicism in Cebu Province, and churches were built,” our Philippine History instructor explained. “Simala Shrine Church is now one of the most popular religious destinations in the Philippines. One of the most important aspects of most Filipino Catholics' lives is pilgrimages or visits to religious sites. This feature helps them maintain their confidence and persevere in the face of adversity.”Ma’am just kept talking but my brain didn’t absorb it. My mind was floating and no matter how much I wanted to listen, I couldn’t. I hear what she says about the history of this church but I don't know why I still don't understand anything. My brain is floating in the air so I can't focus now. This is because of the extreme embarrassment that happened earlier. I just gasp every time I think about
"Ouch!"A shout came to me when I opened my eyes."Wait! What's that?""Man, slow down to brake!"I heard loud complaints from various people around. Just a few moments later, I also complained because of the sudden bump on the seat in front of me. The right hand that supported my forehead was withdrawn so I was stunned completely.I slowly lifted my head to see what was happening.I still held my forehead bumped as I rolled my eyes all around. My eyes widened when I saw where I was.I'm on the bus!Am I in the modern world now?I saw our Class Mayor Shane in the middle and checked one by one with my classmates to see if anyone had bumped badly. Isagn and Kaleela, on the other hand, remained standing and seemed to be catching gossip about what happened to the bus we were riding. I want to approach them and hug them because I miss them so much. But even if I wanted to do that, I couldn't get close to my friends because all the students were standing there so that they could occupy the
"Aren't you coming down yet? Do you just want to let Father know?" It was the voice of a familiar person."There's no need because I'll be next after I put this herb on Zariya." My heart softened when I heard his voice. There's something about me that makes me want to wake up but what I'm doing is too painful."In that case, I'll be the first to go downstairs."I heard the conversation of two familiar people. Although I wanted to know if my suspicion that they were the ones talking was correct, I couldn't do it because I still felt pain in my head. I chose to close my eyes but keep my mind awake and continue to listen secretly. It will only take another pain when I insist more.I can't wait for an answer. I just heard the door close, it looks like one of them has come out. Just a few seconds later, I felt something cold land on my forehead.I could feel what the person next to me was doing. I heard him grind on what it was and again, he applied something to my forehead. Is that the he
Where am I?I’m not familiar with where I am. In the few months of staying in the Kingdom of Norland, I have only just been here. To my knowledge, there is no such place inside the palace. I’m not at Norland palace right now so I’m very curious how I got here.I turned around to look all around. I was amazed at what I saw. What a beautiful place!Extensive fields planted with a variety of flowers are here. I was in the middle and surrounded by flowers that were not familiar to me and I wanted to know what kinds of flowers it was because the color was so bright and so fragrant! It is entertaining to watch the whole surroundings, especially the butterflies flying in the air. This is similar to what Prince Arsh and I used to go to when we picked flowers for King Valor’s birthday, the Garden of Fragrance. But the only difference is, the Fragrance Garden is far wider than this place."What am I doing here?" I could no longer stop talking to myself. It really puzzles me how I got here? I lo
"Father, are you really sure you can do it? Maybe your body is still weak, maybe you still need to rest. Same to you, Mother," Prince Ravi said worriedly. "That's why we can even if you don't come anymore."He had asked question earlier after question whether King Valor and Queen Amelia were sure to join us in the raid on Norland which is now led by Queen Emily. He couldn’t help but worry because of what had happened to their parents. King Valor had just recovered from poisoning while Queen Amelia sustained wounds due to the captivity of my ruthless Queen Mother."Don't worry, your Mother is feeling good about us. This time, we will not allow ourselves to not be together in this battle. We will be more confident that we will win because we have joined together and will work together to recover. our home.”When our meeting was over we immediately prepared for the second war. We had enough rest and strength to dive again. It would be better not to prolong our invasion because that might
"How can I face Father with our youngest brother who is no longer alive?" The voice of the first Prince trembled. We are now surrounded by Prince Ravi who is sitting while holding Prince Nesh who has passed away. Of the four, Prince Ravi was the most affected. He blames himself for the death of the youngest Prince. He said he could not save it and let it perish. Earlier the Prince had been crying incessantly and trying to talk to his brother's cold corpse. He could not accept that it had passed away. After what happened to Prince Nesh, we suddenly disappeared from the palace and found ourselves in the basement where the Kingdom of Norland stood. We will all be doomed if we stay in the palace because we have no opponent. It’s as if we’ve even helped the opponent succeed if we insist on fighting back. So it is better to just leave and come back when we are ready to overthrow them. It’s just sad because we didn’t bring the other soldiers. They are constantly fighting and are not afraid t
I immediately ran to the whereabouts of Prince Arsh when I saw the three Lacandia soldiers who had been behind me earlier. If Prince Arsh hadn't seen it, I would probably have been in their position, I'm the one lying on the floor now. Little did I know that my life had been on the brink of death. I would have seen San Pedro soon.I still can't fight them because there are three of them. What am I up against? Three versus one? Also, I don’t have enough fighting knowledge yet. I definitely lose when it happens. It’s good and ‘the Princes still don’t realize that I’m a Princess but I don’t know how to fight."Don't be afraid, I won't let you get hurt." Prince Arsh greeted me with a tight hug and gently stroked my hair. He was trying to erase the fear I had felt before. In those hugs, I could feel that he would never leave me and that he was always there, ready to protect me at any time.It didn't take long for him to hug me because it also came loose immediately. There are so many oppon
"Zariya?"My gaze stopped in emptiness when Prince Arsh waved his hand in front of me. He tried to grab my attention. That's when my trance returned."Are you saying something, Prince Arsh?" I asked.Ever since we escaped the Kingdom of Lacandia my mind has been flying. I couldn’t focus because of what happened. The trauma left me when we were still captives by Queen Emily. I really feel that we are still confined and have no opponent until now.The conscience I feel is really overwhelming. I even hurt Prince Cozen for telling me how I really feel for him. I have no intention of hurting him, I just want to make him aware of his wrongdoings and correct them before it is too late. But I don’t regret directing him. If that act gave me too much conscience, to Prince Cozen it would have been well done. As a result, Prince Cozen opened his eyes that he was spelling in the wrong direction. At first he also could not accept and it was hard to believe him but with the help of their Mother and
