Emily's Point of View

Emily woke up to the sound of her alarm blaring, her heart heavy with the weight of uncertainty. Her brother Kelsey was still missing, and the worry gnawed at her constantly.

She dragged herself out of bed, her movements mechanical as she prepared for another day at school. The usual excitement she once felt was replaced by a pervasive sense of dread. After dressing in a simple outfit and grabbing her backpack, she headed downstairs where Tony and Chris were finishing breakfast.

"Morning, Em," Tony greeted, his tone overly cheerful in an attempt to lift her spirits.

"Morning," she mumbled, grabbing a piece of toast.

Chris watched her closely, concern etched on his face. "You sure you’re up for school today?"

Emily nodded, forcing a smile. "I need the distraction."

"Alright," Chris said, though his eyes betrayed his worry. "But remember, if you need anything, just call."

"I will," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
