Chapter 38

A New Training Day

Emily was in a deep sleep, her dreams a tangled web of the night's events at the underground match. The adrenaline had finally worn off, leaving her exhausted. But her rest was short-lived.

She was jolted awake by the shrill sound of a whistle, loud and piercing. She screamed, sitting up straight in bed, her heart racing.

Kamsy's quiet laughter filled the room. "Let's start training, Emily. Wake up," he said loudly, his voice carrying a mix of amusement and urgency.

As her eyes adjusted to the morning light streaming in through the curtains, she saw Kamsy standing by her bed, and beside him, his father, Inishola, with the whistle still in his hand.

"Good morning, Emily," Inishola said, his tone firm. "Today, you won't be going to school. Your training is more important."

Emily rubbed her eyes, still trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. "Training? What kind of training?"
