“Good morning, darling.”

I stirred from my sleep when I felt a gentle kiss pressed against my forehead and at the same time became aware of the warmth of the morning sun filtering through the windows. Groggily, I opened my eyes. Everything seemed so peaceful and all worries seemed distant.

“How’s your sleep?”

I slowly pivoted my head to behold Aiden's stunning smile and disheveled hair, his arresting gaze captivating me. His presence stirred something within me that I had not felt before.

“I-it’s fine…”

I was about to stand up straight, when Aiden rushed over and guided me. He gently embraced me and helped me sit on the bed, before pulling away. That moment is when I realized there was something off; I could not move my legs properly.

“J-just hurt a little…” I whispered, looking down at my legs that’s numb.

“Sorry.” Aiden breathed in my ear gently, his warm breath sending a wave of comfort through me as he reached out and softly ran the back of his hand along the side of my face.
