Disappointment

It was later in the afternoon that the car came to a stop infront of the huge villa. Asriel got out of the car and opened the door for Zia. He didn't allow her feet to touch the ground and carried her bridal style into the house. He had to do everything possible to impress his soon to be wife.

Asriel took her to her room on the first floor and helped her into the shower. All the while Zia kept quiet and let him do everything for her. If this was the treatment she would get for being pregnant then she wouldn't mind.

After close to thirty minutes the two held hands as they walked out of the room.

" The attorney is here, we have to sign our marriage today," Asriel said.

" Did you really get the attorney to come here my love, you must be abusing your powers,"

" It wasn't me dear, I had called for an appointment yet he offered to come here on his own." Asriel said proudly.

Everyone in the entire country had feared the Gedor family, filthy rich and ruthless in their deals. They controlled several multi million companies that dealt with almost every important sector of the economy. It was that family that even the most powerful billionaires feared. They could make you go bankrupt in a second.

Zia was happy that her childhood fantasy was finally coming true. Her dad had been a close friend to the Gedor family which made their children close together.

Zia had fallen in love with Gedor as a teenager but didn't think it possible to get married to him till one day he asked her to be his girlfriend. Several ladies from equally powerful families had lined up for him but he chose her.

Zia's family wasn't that powerful, but was wealthy too. Zia was glad that her father had left her in charge of their company. That had been her dad's last present to her before he died in an accident together with her mother. She was orphaned at eighteen, but with all the wealth she had, she could take care of her siblings.

Zia's older sister Zichi is 25 years old and her brother Cai 22, yet her father had left the entire company under her name. Zia had learnt that her father had married her mother when she already had two children from her previous marriage.

Cassandra had never failed to show her that she preferred Zichi and Cai over her.

As Salem's only legitimate daughter, her father had adored her and spoiled her with love. He taught her everything in the business world and was the only suitable successor to his company. Even though Cassandra was against the idea, he had everything under her name, with the responsibility of distributing the wealth to her siblings.

Though it felt like an insult, her siblings seemed not to care about a thing, it was as though they already knew their position in her dad's life. They supported Zia and had never given her a difficult time, always accepting the decisions she made.

Zia let go of her thoughts as they descended the spiral staircase. The attorney was already there, and to her surprise her siblings as well.

" Little sister I'm really sorry for what happened, we were informed last minute that the wedding was cancelled, then we heard that you were at the hospital. We had to rush here to see you," Zichi said as he hugged her sister. Cai did the same.

" It's alright sis, thank you for worrying about me, Cai, thank you for coming,"

" Now that you two are here would you mind being her witnesses for our marriage," Asriel said.

" It would be an honour. Congratulations to you both. Who knew you would get married all the same," Zichi said.

The sarcasm never escaped Zia's ears but she let go of it, her sister had always been that way, one time she is genuinely happy for you the next second her heart would be exploding with jealousy.

Asriel had his grandmother as his witness. Zia had thought that her mother-in-law would attend their wedding or even be there for her son at such an important function, but she couldn't voice it out loud, not after the kind of relationship Asriel and her mother had. Since Drusilla was present, she didn't mind at all, moreso since Asriel was closer to her than his own mother.

Asriel and Zia formally became a couple after the signing was completed. Zia didn't know whether to feel happy about it or not. She hadn't envisioned any of this to happen on her wedding day. She had always wanted a beach wedding, but here she was infront of an attorney.

Asriel who noticed her expression was pained, but he couldn't do otherwise. He got up from the couch and went down one knee before taking out a small red box which he opened revealing a beautiful and shiny diamond ring.

A gasp escaped Zia's lips when the beautiful ring was presented to her. Slowly Asriel slid the ring into her finger which made a tear escape her eyes. In the end she was still a bride. Zia did the same to her husband, their wedding finally sealed.

Five months later Zia walked out of her company building. She had had a stressful week and needed time to relax away from everything. Asriel was on a business trip and life couldn't be more boring.

Zia was about to get into her car when her sister called after her.

" Zichi, what are you doing here this late in the evening, I thought work ended few hours ago,"

" I had to complete this project we had and have you approve it before you head off for the weekend,"

Zichi handed over the document which had been arranged neatly which she quickly went over. Zia was glad that her sister was a reliable partner. Zia had made Zichi the vice President of the company especially since she had proved herself to be resourceful. With this an idea suddenly struck Zia's mind.

" Sis would you mind taking over the operations of the company for a week, I have something urgent to do,"

" I would be glad to help little sister, infact you need a break, you two hadn't even gone for honeymoon due to your tight schedules, I advise that you take as long as you wish, I'll help take care of the company. When you return you'll find everything as perfect as you left them,"

" You are a life saver sister, I'm sure you'll do everything in your power for our company to grow. I'll inform the chairman of this so that no one hinders your operations. You'll have full powers as the CEO. Hope when I return you'll hand over everything back to me."

" Of course sister, I know that you trust me enough to leave everything in my hands, I assure you I wouldn't do anything you won't like,"

" Perfect, I'll head off now. Your proposal is fine, anyways you are now the CEO, you know what to do,"

Zia turned and got into her car and failed to notice the devious smile on Zichi's face, it was as though Zia had jumped right into her trap.

Zia made a phone call immediately she got inside the car. She then headed straight for the airport. She couldn't wait to see her husband, he had been gone for a week now.

Zia alighted from the airport and went straight to the hotel her husband had booked. She felt hungry being seven months pregnant, but it could wait. Her baby bump was getting bigger each passing day, but as a married woman she wasn't disturbed at all.

It was exactly nine at night Zia alighted infront of a magnificent hotel room. It belonged to the Gedor family and having been there countless times, she made haste and entered the building. No one stopped her since they already knew her identity. She went straight to the private elevator which led her to the penthouse.

She unlocked the door with her finger print before slowly making her way inside. Zia figured Asriel night still be out and she should prepare something to eat. She placed her bag on the table and was headed for the kitchen, her stomach wasn't giving her any peace, she had to find something to bite.

Zia however stopped in her tracks when she heard a sound coming from the bedroom. It seemed Asriel was inside and maybe he was on a phone call. She turned around and headed for the room.

She was at the door when she heard two male voices coming from inside the room. Her heart skipped a bit. She couldn't tell why something had struck her heart. She slowly pushed the door opened and peeped inside the dimly lit room. There on the be bed a figure lay.

" Asriel," Zia called out in a whisper before she stepped inside, they hadn't noticed her presence. Zia switched on the lights and was shocked seeing the two naked figures on bed, busy with each other.

" Asriel! Cai! " Zia exclaimed as she cover her mouth, unable to believe what she was seeing.
