Chapter 22

Evan ignored Reuben's nonsense and focused. His hands went to work, and the silver needles fell right into place into the meridian points.

Evan used a five-inch silver needle for the last meridian point and pierced it into the Spirit Palace Meridian Point. Only the needle's handle could be seen poking out.

Lindsay noticed the black line on her grandfather's chest had appeared again.

Reuben grunted with disdain. "Stop putting on a show."

Evan took out the bowl of cooked ingredients that smelled good.

"What is that, Evan?"

Lindsy could see a blob of black stuff inside. Even though it smelled good, there was something strange about it.

"Crickets, frogs, centipedes, and ants!"

His reply gave Lindsay goosebumps. "Evan, did you go out to get these things?"

"Yup!"

"Why did you cook them?"

"To treat your grandfather."

"Huh?"

Lindsay was taken aback. "Do you plan to use these disgusting things to treat my grandfather?"
