Chapter 34: Trauma

I watched as my father talked to Pietro. My grip on my champagne tightened as I observed the exchange between them.

Even with this great distance between us, I could tell that father is giving Pietro a hard time. I don’t know if I should feel amuse or if I should feel bad about Pietro. I know how hard my father can be. I inherited that trait from him.

Even though Pietro is more powerful than my father, it doesn’t stop him from pushing his buttons. My father loves to poke sticks on sleeping tigers.

I sashayed towards them, to put their delightful conversation into a stop. I’m also curious about what they were talking about even though I know that they wouldn’t let me into their conversation.

I slowed down when I have arrived at enough distance towards them. I was planning to hear some of their conversation, but I already arrived too late.

The two is now done talking and they are having a staring contest instead. I could even feel the tension between them from this distance.
