Chapter 6

Nate 

I was stuck watching Maya. She sat on a bench in the garden and held the child, Axel while chatting happily with Lucas at her side.

The child had his back resting on Maya’s chest and with his tiny hands, he played with the bracelets that the girl wore on her wrist.

In the hour that passed the child had passed from arm to arm, welcoming anyone who wanted to give him a little attention and then returning to the arms of his mother, arms that claimed every time someone approached her, especially when it came to men.

By the time Lucas held him, Josh had approached Maya, with the intent to woo her, and the child, not happy with that approach, had begun to scream like crazy, claiming her for himself.

Maya had immediately abandoned Josh and rushed on to her son, while my colleague was blindsided like a fool.

She had done the same with Chris and Zeke. Maya had dumped any suitor at the time her son claimed her.

One part of me was surprised, the other was relieved that she refused any kind of advances. I didn’t even know if she was alone. She had a son, but she didn’t have any men around.

How was that possible? What sane man would let go of a woman like Maya?

\"If you keep staring at her like that, she’ll have holes in her skin,\" my sister said behind my back, making me jump.

\"I don’t know what you’re talking about.\" I said, looking away from Maya.

\"You also have a little drool on your lips.\" she continued, laughing at that, harpy Jess.

\"Stop it.\" I said sternly.

\"If it were another time I’d tell you to try but, don’t you dare get close to her Nate.\" said my sister sitting next to me and watching me grim \"I’m serious, Maya has been through too much and doesn’t need your needs to empty your balls all the time.\"

\"I didn’t mean to, Jess. Who did you take me for?\" I asked upset and hurt.

\"For someone who hasn’t stopped staring at her since she got here. I know you, Nate, don’t even try.\" Jess repeated, smoothing the green skirt of her dress.

\"What happened?\" I asked looking at her.

Jess settled the front part of the dress, placing her breasts inside the huge neckline of her dress, I was not surprised that Andrew always checked with the tail in the eye.

\"He left her, he didn’t take responsibility for the baby, and she was left alone.\" Jess said, continuing to smooth her dress.

\"Son of bitch!\" I said, I couldn’t help myself.

What kind of person would do that? What kind of bastard you must be to let a woman that you got pregnant, alone? How someone couldn’t want to do anything with his own child?

\"Yeah.\" Jess said, looking up and meeting Andrew’s.

The boy gave her a naughty smile and stared at the house as Jess bent her head to the side and looked at him winking.

\"I have to go.\" she said without looking at me and getting up.

She made a great stride to the house closely followed by Andrew, together they disappeared inside while I shuddered. Of course, I wouldn’t be in the house for the next hour, too many times I had caught them in somewhat questionable moments, and seeing my little sister being banged was not something that I cared about on that day.

I looked back at Maya, and I noticed that she was alone, I looked around to find Lucas but I didn’t find him so I breathed deeply, finding courage, and I approached her.

Maya had put the child on her thighs, while this one tried to jump around with bright lights and looked around with his wonderful blue eyes.

I stopped next to her. \"Hey.\" I said quietly.

Maya looked up and looked at me, I almost got lost in her gray eyes, \"Hey,\" she replied gently.

\"Can I?\" I asked pointing to the bench.

\"Sure.\" Maya said, moving around a bit, making some space for me.

I sat next to her and the child, Axel turned to look at me, putting one hand in his mouth while the other grabbed his mother’s hair as if he wanted to show who the girl belonged.

\"Hey, buddy, nobody wants to take your mom away.\" I said looking at him.

Axel in response attached himself to his knit neck and laid his forehead on Maya’s chin, looking at me with his blue eyes like the ocean. Maya laughed and stroked his back as she deposited a slight kiss on his forehead.

\"I’m sorry.\" I said, looking at Maya.

\"There’s nothing to be sorry about. We’re all fine.\" she said as she swung Axel making him laugh.

I didn’t know what to tell her, so I just stood there and watched as the baby curled up against her and kissed her.

\"Is it just me, or is he trying to mark his territory?\" I said raising my eyebrows.

\"He’s very territorial, it’s always been me and him and it’s strange to have other people around, especially men, he doesn’t like having them around.\" said Maya trying to sit him down even though he refused and kept staring at me.

\"Mark the territory.\" I said, making her laugh, nothing was more beautiful than her laugh.

\"Maybe.\" Maya looked me in the eye.

It was just a moment before she looked back at the baby, but that little moment was enough to turn my legs into jelly and beat my heart out.

I wanted to reach out and move a lock of hair behind her ear, my hands were quivering, and they wanted to touch her. I closed them into a fist to avoid touching her even though my whole body begged me to.

Axel looked at me again and then I extended his arms towards me, Maya raised an eyebrow and looked at him frowning as he kept pushing towards me and stretching out his arms. I laid the glass on the lawn and took him in my arms. He held his legs in my thighs and put his hands on my cheeks, looking straight into my eyes.

I stood still, for fear of doing something wrong. He was so small, so minute and delicate. The facial features were identical to those of Maya, while the eyes were those of Dr. Sheppar, so dark blue that it resembled the ocean. I grabbed Axel under his armpits and held him tight while he struggled and tried to jump.

\"Strange.\" said Maya.

I turned to her and I looked at her and I tried to say something when I heard a noise like someone choking, and a rancid smell that reached my nose, while something wet covered my white shirt and reached up to my pants, I took a deep breath, As a chill of disgust ran from head to toe, I turned and looked down where I saw a vomit stain on my suit.

\"Axel!\" Maya yelled, \"Holy shit, I’m sorry Nate.\" she said, picking him up while he laughed and clapped his hands, proud of his work.

\"It seemed too quiet.\" I said when I got up.

\"I’m really sorry, let me help you.\" Maya got up and before she could get close to me, Axel threw up again, this time on her.

The regurgitation covered the front of the dress and a splash of skin, also covering his hair. Maya closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

\"Axel!\" she said in a very severe tone.

The child immediately stopped laughing and clapping and looked at her, while Maya electrocuted him. The child stretched out and printed a loud kiss on her lips. Maya’s gaze immediately softened as he snuggled in the hollow of her neck, proud of his work.

\"I’m sorry, he doesn’t usually do things like that.\" Maya immediately apologized to me while watching me swing lightly.

\"Don’t worry, May May, these things happen with children.\" I said, looking straight into her eyes.

Maya gave me a sweet smile and apologized again before she left and went back to the house where Jess and Andrew came out.

My sister did not have messy hair, the makeup was perfect as well as the dress. Andrew, on the other hand, had his hair all messed up, his tie was tied wrong, and his shirt and pants were completely creased. I couldn’t help but notice the satisfied smile on Andrew’s lips and the glitter in my sister’s eyes.

I shuddered at the thought of what they had done at home.

I knew my sister was an adult by now, she was getting married, but seeing and catching her with her panties down was not something I wanted to do so often as it happened.

Jess saw me and approached me, giving me a grim look \"Is that vomit?\" she asked disgusted.

\"Yep.\" I said.

\"Nate.\" began my sister pointing at my index finger, the nail was covered with red nail polish. \"I told you to stay away from Maya’s skirt!\"

\"Damn it, Jess, I didn’t slip into her skirt, I was making conversation!\"

\"And why do you have vomit on you?\" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Andrew approached behind her and surrounded her waist with one arm and left a kiss on her temple.

\"Is that vomit?\" he asked looking at me.

\"He’s trying to fuck Maya!\" said Jess exasperated.

\"Wow, well done!\" Andrew answered.

Jess shoveled her mouth open and turned her head towards him, she looked like the child of the exorcist, I got a shiver of terror when I looked at her.

\"How are you sorry?\" she said looking at her fiancé.

\"Maya’s a beautiful woman, I’d try too.\" Andrew said happily without thinking about it.

I closed my eyes and I prayed for him, then I opened them up and I looked at him Your fault mate, I told him with my eyes before my sister gave him an elbow in the stomach.

\"Excuse me?\" she asked, turning around and putting her hands on her hips.

\"Come on, babe, you know I don’t mean that.\" he tried to defend himself.

\"Oh no? Do you find her sexier than me? Because she has huge tits full of milk and I don’t?\" she asked.

God, Maya’s boobs, I didn’t have enough time to admire them or touch them, just the thought of it made my crotch bleed.

What was I, 15?

\"Please stop it now!\" I said before I could see the image in my head, but it was too late now.

\"I think I’m going to vomit.\" I said, squinting.

\"Say something like that again and I swear you will never see or touch them again.\" said my sister, throwing her arms around his neck and giving him a kiss full of passion.

It was better if I walked away from them immediately otherwise I would have caught something else that I absolutely did not want to hear.
