Chapter 37: Lauryn

2024-10-29 19:42:56Sitting down at my desk, I think about the weekend and what it means in the grand scheme of things. Is he planning on asking me to marry him? Or live with him full time? Be his play thing? What?
Not knowing what his plan truly is for me, I shake my head and give up for the moment. Picking up several papers strewn on my desk, I file them and see a note hiding under the lip of my desk calendar. It has my name on it written in cursive.
Curious, I open it and look inside. The only thing in it is a note card. Plain white business card stock, the kind of thing you see wedding or baby shower invitations printed on. It says, Meet me at the fountain on Tuesday. Be there at 11 a.m.
Looking around to see if anyone is watching me, I slip it in my purse and start filing my papers. Who in the world wants to meet me and why? More importantly, why so secret?
