Kristen's POV

The shocked expression on their faces gives out how they weren't expecting to see him. I can tell they're wondering if it's truly Calhoun, or his ghost.

Alpha Ezra is the most surprised out of everyone.

Bruce takes this as a cue to toss his fake wine bottle aside and quit the act he's been putting on earlier.

With the way Calhoun is standing in front of me for protection, I've never felt so much at ease before. Alpha Ezra thought he could have his way with me because everyone else didn't speak up or tried to stop him, except Ben.

Right now, he's blinking in uncertainty, completely unsure of who is standing in front of him.

"Is that truly Alpha Calhoun or someone who bears an uncanny resemblance to him?"

"I don't want to think I'm starting to see things because we just buried him a few hours ago."

"What in the seven hells is going on?"

People aren't whispering this time, they're talking aloud, showing their confusion.

"Congrats, Kristen. You're two weeks pregnant," Doctors Christopher breaks this news to me with a huge smile on his face."What?" I shiver-jolt upon hearing this. Is there something wrong with my ears or I misheard him?"You're pregnant," he says again."No," I disagree, shaking my head, "perhaps you brought the wrong test result." My hands are already balled into small fists as my heart keeps doing dangerous backflips in my chest.Doctor Christopher just smiles and nudges the test result to my side of the table so I can take a look at it.I hesitate because I want to think this is an expensive joke because I came here this morning to run some tests thinking I was ill. It was still Doctor Christopher who suggested the pregnancy test, something which I nonchalantly agreed to.Picking up the result, I raise it to my face and let my eyes skim through it.My first and last name is written on it, and cold runs through me that I shudder because it's almost like I am thrown into a bathtub

It came up when I was least expecting but I am still overjoyed.Thinking about a miniature version of me has this huge smile on my face. I will do everything to protect both Kristen and the baby. Kristen is still so hardheaded, I get that she doesn't want to live with me because Natalie is in the picture. Still, I want to take care of her because she's not alone anymore. Upon reaching home that evening, I asked the servants to prepare dinner for both me and Natalie, since we needed to talk. "It's been so long we've sat on the same table like this," Natalie has a small sad smile resting on her face as she pulls the chair backward so she can sit.
