Kristen's POV

"I don't think this is a good idea," Whining, I turn to head back inside when they pull me backward.

"Only one drink, Kristen. It won't hurt the baby," Maddy urges, hooking her arm around mine.

My friends are not to be trusted. Their one glass of beer equals seven and one glass of tequila is ten.

"I just don't have a good feeling about this," I shake my head, but my feet are moving because Maddy is dragging me along with her to the car.

"C'mon, it's been so long we've had a girls' night out. Our exams are coming next week and it'd be torturous to the brain to read all that load of books."

"Fine, just one drink and then you'll drop me off at home. Calhoun doesn't want me staying out."

"Yes, Luna queen. As you wish," Sapphire gives me a mocking two-finger salute.

Chuckling, I let them pull me into the car for the drive to the club.

Maddy is in the shotgun and Sapphire is driving.

I'm sitting in the back seat because I tend to feel dizzy and nauseous from time to time and

Calhoun's POV"Killing an Alpha and his men during your fake funeral is uncalled for," Elder Festus has displeasure on his face when he points this out."Let's not talk about how he faked his death," this is from another Elder who is seated next to him at the large table in the council hall. They sought my presence a few hours ago, only to throw blame in my face."Your behavior is totally unacceptable, Alpha Calhoun," Elder Festus continues and Bruce puts his hand on his mouth to snicker. While I don't find anything funny here. They're starting to become a pain in the ass."Alpha Ezra tried to kill me first, the first thing he did after two years of not seeing ourselves, was to invite me over and poison me.""Still you could've looked for a proper way to handle things," Elder Festus still objects to me."What if I had died?" I ask, glaring at each and every one of them. This question is enough to shut them up."None of you would have been here with this topic, you would have made some

Kristen's POV'Let me go.''Shut up!' Hit.'Get me out of here!''I said shut the fuck up!" Hit.'Please… just let me go and I promise I won't tell anyone.'More screams, more sobs, more slaps.I thought it was all a nightmare until my eyes lazily flutter open and my ears kick in more of these sounds.Aside from the fact that I am in chains and locked up in a short cage, I have come to actualize the fact that I am not the only female here. There's more of them, probably a hundred or so. I can't remember how I was brought in here, then the last thing I can recall was when that creepy guy…jack, sent his fist flying into my face and I passed out. My throat feels sore and itchy. I am thirsty but I doubt I will be able to drink water because swallowing my spittle hurts as well. And I wonder how long I have been out cold. This place doesn't seem like it's out in the open. It's like an underground prison because I can see several other women with torn dresses, birdnest of hair, bloodshot ey

Kristen's POV"Clegnor," Jack's voice rings out after some time."Sir?" The man dash towards him.Jack looks through the cages before wrinkling his nose as if he just perceived a malodor. It's true though, it stinks really bad here because there's no form of air coming through, so we sweat a lot."I think my wives would like a bath now, the place is smelly," Jack states at last."Yes, sir," Clegnor replies.I am left wondering how the hell that will happen when the said Clegnor connects a green suction pipe to a tap, draws out water, and then he starts splashing it through the cages, making everyone get soaked from water. My mouth flaps open in horror. Is this how females bathe?Like they don't wash their bodies in a toilet or something, they remain in their cages and wait for Jack to pass the order to Clegnor to splash them with water. No wonder it stinks really bad here. It's almost as if we're animals getting washed in our cages by our owners.I shift until my back is pressed agai

Kristen's POV"Sarah's quick death is just the tip of the iceberg, Kristen," Jack hunks down his height to Sarah's dead body and pokes it."She's been here for four years and I got bored of her, so I thought it was high time I saved her from her misery," he strokes her cheek and smiles as if he admired her in death more than when she was alive. The urge to puke comes up again, but I harden my jaw this time because Jack hasn't forgiven me over what happened a few minutes ago. I puked on his face and that even resulted in poor Sarah's death."You want to see more? You want to see what I do to people who disobey me?" Jack looks at me again, with his anger returning. One moment he's hot and the next he's cold. The true nature of a psycho."Answer me, Kristen. You want to take a peek?" His voice is much louder and scary this time."No, please," I tremble out of fright from the menacing way Jack is staring at me."You don't get to decide here, Kristen. I am your husband, I do what I want."

Calhoun's POV"Let me come with you, Kristen is my daughter," It's no other person than Natalie who is scurrying to catch up with me.I stop and quietly turn to face her, wondering what exactly has gotten into her mind for her to act this way."No, just stay back. You don't look too well." I say."You don't expect me to just sit here and do nothing when my only child is out there suffering." There's so much honesty in Natalie's eyes that I can tell she's not faking things. It's really confusing to see her this way. Because she heard the news about Kristen's kidnap yesterday and didn't utter a word, and now she's here like this?"I told you I'll handle things, Natalie. You don't look good enough to go anywhere." "Please, let me come with you." She's holding my hand right from, refraining me from going further. Is this really Natalie or someone impersonating her? She just volunteered to help find Kristen."Please, Calhoun," Natalie implores and from the look of things, she's not willin

Jack stopped with his rape attempt when I told him I was pregnant. He hit me repeatedly in the face and accused me of knowing he was out to get me, so I made Calhoun get me pregnant. As if that even makes any sense. When I didn't even know him until the day he kidnapped me. Jack is worse than a sadistic psycho, I wonder if he has a family somewhere or if he's always been a loner. His smell gives out that he's a rogue, which means he was kicked out of his pack and he refused to join any other pack. So his smell sells him out that he's different. My throat feels dry because I haven't had anything in my mouth for some time now. Not even water. Thankfully the soreness has subsided, that's why I feel even thirsty. How long have I been here? Two days or more?Is Calhoun looking for me?Is mom worried? Calhoun's POVTo think this place has been here and we've walked past it several times. My body is already invigorating for war as we take the lift down underground. Jack is truly a sick person. It's obvious he's spent several years working on this place because it's really wide and spacious. It's dark so my men are making use of the torchlight they're holding. There are skeletons of dead people wrapped in torn dresses and pinned to the walls, as the lift keeps lunging downward."That guy is creepier than I ever thought," someone mutters. My mind drifts over to Kristen and I hope he hasn't laid a finger on her.Bruce assured me that Jack would never hurt Kristen, but the things I am taking count of is making me rather disturbed. The lift takes us sixteen feet down before it stops. "This is even worse than we thought," Bruce has his eyes raised in their sockets as he points ahead of us. There, we see several cages merged together, over two hundred. And inside, are asleep females. "
