Kristen's POV

"Don't just stand there, do something. Give him every kind of poison killer you have!" I wail.

The doctors are reluctant right now, one of them even covers up Calhoun's face, something which gives out that they're concluding that he's dead.

"We couldn't give him any poison killer because he was already dead."

It hurts as if someone is stabbing through my heart with a knife straight out of the fire.

"Calhoun cannot die, dammit!" I find my way through the medicine box and start rummaging through it. My heavy breathing surpasses my sobs while I am at this.

Mom is crying, holding onto Calhoun's body and asking him to come back. Even Bruce looks like he's accepted that Calhoun is truly dead.

"How can a powerful man like Calhoun die by poisoning? He's the Alpha of Alphas," I yell at the top of my voice, "you're all too quick to give up on him. I can't believe you ceased from giving him the poison killer because you thought he was dead."

"There's nothing else we can do, Krist

Kristen's POVCalhoun faked his own death after he survived the black bane poison. He hid away from his pack and everyone to make them truly believe he died. The pack doctors had a dead body in place of him and people mourned him for days, when in fact he's alive, plotting something for his enemies.People are gathering at the graveyard for the funeral and I can see people in tears already, mostly his grandmother who completely looks a shadow of herself. If only she knows he's alive and he's planning a huge thing. I haven't seen Calhoun in a week, though. The last we saw ourselves was at the pack hospital, so I am eager to see him today, wondering what exactly he has up his sleeves. Mom is here with her friends. She's still the Luna of the Greyhound pack and people are already tagging her as a widow. I can't even hold her gaze upon remembering how Calhoun pushed her away from his body and came to me. My hands are already balled into small fists as my heart keeps doing dangerous backflips in my chest.Doctor Christopher just smiles and nudges the test result to my side of the table so I can take a look at it.I hesitate because I want to think this is an expensive joke because I came here this morning to run some tests thinking I was ill. It was still Doctor Christopher who suggested the pregnancy test, something which I nonchalantly agreed to.Picking up the result, I raise it to my face and let my eyes skim through it.My first and last name is written on it, and cold runs through me that I shudder because it's almost like I am thrown into a bathtub
