Kristen's POV

Seeing Theodore in front of the rest of the contestants has me on my edge, and I am just trying to cover it up by holding Aiden.

It's clear he truly prepared for this pack run, and the crowd is breaking into a peal of excitement even though they don't know who he is.

They're running in their human form but Theodore is faster than all of them, running like his life depends on it.

It's impossible to feel relaxed at this point when my second mate has so much potential to win this race, even though there are more stages in front.

Once again, I call the attention of Aiden's nanny, and hand the child to her, before leaving my position beside Calhoun, because remaining seated is a bad idea. I stand in front to get a proper view, as I keep hoping something will go wrong with the race and Theodore will be disqualified.

While the crowd keeps cheering for the masked man, I throw my hands across my chest, fearing this evening won't end well for me because, from the look of how

Calhoun's POVAnd true to my predictions, the masked man wins the race. It was clear he'd win, right from the way he even began it all. Effortlessly passed through stages, except for the swimming part where he came out last. But he still won in the end.I am still flabbergasted at the sight of his wolf earlier because I can't recall the last time I saw such a huge wolf. It was big and over six feet tall. Something which struck fear in the hearts of men and women, because of how fearful it looked. And I doubt anyone in my pack's wolf is as large as his, so it's obvious he's not from the Greyhound pack. Who is he?How did he even know about the Greyhound pack run? I am starting to think he doesn't even come from any neighboring pack."And our winner is the masked man," the whistleblower declares, lifting the masked man's hand. The audience erupts in screams. Cheering and chanting 'Masked man.' The accolades are enough to make him raise his shoulders. No one can see the expression on hi

Kristen's POVOh, God, no.This is even worse than I expected.Theodore didn't only demand Calhoun should give me to him, he also announced to everyone that we're mates. It's all my fault! I could have told Calhoun the first time, and things wouldn't have escalated to this extent. Now, my husband will start to lose every trust he has in me.The silence hanging in the air is as sharp as a butcher's knife. And at this point, I can't even find my voice to speak up anymore because the truth is finally out, Calhoun will know that I have been lying to him this entire time."You think I'm joking? Ask Kristen yourself," Theodore address Calhoun with that sick smirk never disappearing from his face.Slowly, Calhoun shifts his gaze at me.And panic starts punching out of my lungs."The moon goddess knows you're already married to Kristen, yet she made both Kristen and I mates because you're no fit for her," Theodore shouts at the top of his lungs."Shut up!" • Let Me Go, Alpha Calhoun    169: Conversations With The Captor

Kristen's POVIt's happening all fucking over again, that it feels like I was cursed to always fall into this position.Kidnapped, and chained to a spot where I can't even escape. I can't even feel my hands because they're right behind me. The way my captor chained me, it's almost like he fears I would transform into a wolf as large as his, break out of these chains, and runoff.Getting kidnapped didn't start until I turned 21, exactly two years ago.First, it was with Jack, the psycho who stalked and obsessed over me until he finally laid his hands on me. According to him, he caught me getting sexed in the back seat of a car, and then he couldn't get me out of his head. He finally had the perfect chance to kidnap, and locked me up in a short cage, along with over two hundred women he had abducted for years.Second, my mom. She wanted to kill me along with my unborn child. She couldn't stand seeing her only daughter be with her ex-husband, who she couldn't get over.Thirdly and bow it

Although I am trying to get out of this place which I am trapped in, buts it's just so hard."..ahoun." The voice rings in my head once more and at last, I wake up with a gasp."Thankfully you're finally awake," Relief hits the face of my beta, "we thought you were gone, man.""Kristen…" That's the only name I can say because the last thing I saw was her tearful face before I passed out. While Bruce just purses his lips as he stares at me with a neutral expression. I manage to sit upright, just in time to see myself shirtless and my body is covered with mashed wet medical leaves instead of bandages.I've had worse injuries than this, but I can't lie it hurts. Still, I am able to ground my jaw to endure it all."Kristen…" I rasp out for the second time."She's not here," Bruce makes

Calhoun's POV"Is there such a thing like one person having two mates?" I don't take my seat when I join the elders at the council hall. I just stand beside the power seat."I'm not so sure of that, Alpha Calhoun," Elder Adolphus is the first to speak up as usual."It was written in this damned book two centuries ago," Snatching the book from my beta, I throw it at the table with a thud. And for a moment, they exchanged puzzled glances at each other before returning their attention to me."Where did you get it from?" Elder Adolphus does the talking once more."Does it matter?" My voice isn't raised but I'm sure the look on my face renders them perplexed."Answer me!" There, I just lost my temper which wasn't completely in check before. Because their few seconds of silence is worsening my mood."You should know he's on the edge tonight," Bruce explains for my sake, with an awkward smile. When he doesn't even need to Elder Festus draws the book to his side of the table and skims through

Calhoun's POV"Calhoun?" Natalie seems stunned to see me here, it's clear she wasn't expecting my sudden appearance when we haven't seen ourselves in a year and three months. Exactly the time she was thrown in here, right after being caught for trying to murder her own daughter."What do you want here?" My ex-wife ruses from the floor but she doesn't make any move to near her cell gate."I think karma is paying me back for hurting you first," I admit at last."What do you mean, Calhoun?" Is Natalie showing concern towards me or I am imagining it?"She's gone…" I blurt out, although it's stupid of me to even come here in the first place and still tell Natalie about her daughter."Who?" My ex-wife seems very interested in finding out, although the look on her face shows that she's already aware of who it is and she just needs to hear me say the name out loud."Your daughter..she was taken away by her real mate," I blurt out while maintaining eye contact to read her expression."Does thi

Cause it's obvious no one is coming to save me.And Calhoun, I don't know if he's alive."A beautiful dress for the beautiful bride," Theodore scoops out the gown from the bag."I singlehandedly picked a black dress because I've always wondered what it's like to see my bride in black at our wedding," Theodore smiles sheepishly as he shows me the back of the dress. He's just like Jack the rogue psycho, except he hasn't made any move to hur
