Seraphina POVI spent the next couple of days working alongside Callan and completing all of his requests. If I was asked to color-code one more thing, I was going to lose it. For my first task, Callan had me organize all of his books in his library by color– which ranged from forest green to black. Nothing in this packhouse was “colorful.” Once that was complete, I was to organize his already organized closet, including his underwear drawer. I swore it was just to make me annoyed. Instead of organizing his underwear by color, I decided to make the letters F and U in the lighter shades of gray in the middle of the drawer. I had smiled at my handy work before continuing to my other tasks. Callan was less than impressed when he saw my organizing skills of his undergarments. The punishment of having to clean toilets in the employee bathroom was totally worth the look on Callan’s bright red face when he came to ask me about it. I was now back to staying in my room, although for some rea
POV Seraphina I walked out of the restroom when I thought the coast was clear of Lyla and her friend. As my poor luck would have it, Lyla and two others sat at some easels across the room, awaiting the class. I tried to avoid my gaze as I found Maeve, who was placing two drinks for us on the table. I tried to calm my racing heart as I sat down in front of the blank canvas. Maeve leaned towards me and placed a hand on my leather-covered shoulder. “Are you alright?” Her asked with concern. I moved my clutch onto my lap and pretended to be going through its contents. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Drake stood near the opposite entrance of the bar, while our “The blonde across from us with the red head and brunette,” I started.Maeve immediately looked around her canvas, holding no semblance of being discrete. I immediately pulled her closer to me. “Don’t look at her!” I hissed. “I don’t want her to see me.” Maeve looked at me confused. I met her eyes, “that’s Lyla.” Maeve’
Callan POV I paced my study as I waited for Constantine to show up. I checked my smart watch for the umteenth time. Finally Constantine walked in with his hands in his jeans pockets. Exasperated, I tossed my hands up in the air. “About damn time you showed up!”Constantine responded with a knowing grin before clapping me on the shoulder. “Aw, did you miss me, Callan?”I rolled my eyes while I shoved him off, making him laugh. “You wish.” I flipped him off and walked over to my bar cart. “Hey, don’t tease me with a good time. You know I am an equal opportunity-lover.” Constantine plopped down onto one of the leather chairs and crossed one leg over the other. I let out a laugh and turned with the glasses of bourbon. “For some reason I don’t see Adalia taking too kindly to anyone touching her mate.” I teased. Constantine waved me off in response before switching topics. “So will you tell me now, why you have summoned me?” I handed Constantine his glass of amber colored liquid and cl
Seraphina POV I looked around my room with all of my belongings shredded on the floor. To make matters worse the words “LEAVE NOW WHORE” were written in red paint on the wall above my bed. I watched as the paint dripped down the wall and onto my comforter. If I weren’t in shock, I would have started cleaning up the mess. Instead, I sat on the floor surrounded by all of my destroyed belongings. I couldn’t understand why anyone would do this. I knew I was new to the pack, but this, this was extreme. The only staff member that seemed to have a hair across their ass was Stacey. But this seemed over the top, even for her. Callan’s look of pure fury was enough to make me want to curl in a ball and submit. His aura pressed out, making me wince as he saw the words written on the wall. The tick in his jaw was enough for me to know that what came next would not be pretty. I looked down at the floor and played with a scrap of fabric that belonged to my favorite dress. I felt Callan’s gaze on
POV Seraphina The next morning I could hear the other staff members mutter and whisper about what had transpired last night. The whispers only grew louder as every staff member was called in for a meeting with their Alpha. I quietly stood next to Maeve and Drake as we waited for Callan to arrive at the meeting. Everyone in the pack looked up at me with curious and contemplative stares. All of a sudden the room went eerily quiet to the point that only the sound of Callan’s footsteps was all that could be heard. As Callan approached, my heart pounded in my chest as I stood before pack members who were not familiar. And to think this was only a small portion of them. I had yet to see the full magnitude of Callan’s reign. As he walked, Callan was the epitome of cool, calm, and collected with his hands in his black trousers and head held high.Upon entrance of their Alpha, everyone bent to one knee and bowed. The level of respect that these members had or the fear they had of their A
Callan POV Did I need to kiss her? No. Did I use the situation to my advantage? You bet your ass! I needed to satisfy the need to be close to her, so I could shut up my wolf. And boy, was that a mistake! As soon as our lips crashed to one anothers, electricity like i’d never known sparked between us. At first Sera’s body was as stiff as a board, however after just a couple of seconds, she was melting into my arms and molding her body to mine. Just as I allowed myself to sink into the kiss, Sera pushed away. I couldn’t help but love the way her cheeks were tinged pink and how her pouty lips were a bit more swollen than before. ‘Mine.’ Archer roared in my head. I looked back at my staff and pressed out my aura for emphasis. “Does anyone have any questions in regards to the etiquette that is expected with Ms. Steele?” Sera moved back to where Maeve and Drake were standing with an undecipherable expression “No questions, Alpha.” and “No, sir.” echoed in the room before I dismissed e
POV Seraphina “Alpha Allister sent me after we received word where your mother and sister are,” the male guest said. I stood still, holding the tray of tea for the men. Blood whooshed in my ears as I tried to unpack what the man said and what it could mean. And to use the word “Alpha” for Allister made my blood boil. My father was the alpha. HE was the fill-in. I avoided eye contact with Callan so he wouldn’t suspect my inner rage that was scratching my insides to get out. I quickly dismissed myself from the room and stood outside the closed office door to see if I could hear anything further. Before I could hear anything, a forced cough came from behind me. When I turned around, Angelica stood with her arms crossed and her eyes bloodshot from crying. Her eyes turned to those of her wolf before returning to her human eyes. I never knew a werewolf whose eyes turned a cloudy gray color, and for whatever reason, they gave me an uneasy feeling.“Are you happy with yourself?” She bit ou
Callan POV I shifted into my wolf form, allowing Archer to take the lead in finding my any scents that didn’t belong to our pack. I needed his sharp senses if we were going to be successful in our mission. We were walking the border between the Shadow Pack and Night Walker Pack. Behind me, Drake and Rodney had shifted into their wolves and readied themselves for whatever may come our way. I trusted these men with my life and knew they would be perfect for this mission. They were the only two that knew about my true intentions with this mission. Successfully find the missing pack members that were on our borders and be rewarded with a lead for my mom and sister whereabouts. My mind went to the other day after Seraphina had left the room, Elner explained that in order to get the location of my mother and sister, I needed to check out the last whereabouts for wolves that had gone missing. Typical Allister. Making everything about him and his needs. Fucking weasel. We had been away fro
