CALLAN POV I stormed out of my bed chambers and down the hall to my office. I swung open the door and didn’t care if it were closed or not. I was beyond pissed that not only did my staff not make sure that Sera was shown around the packhouse, but also that Sera continued to have an attitude with me. No one was doing what they were supposed to. I began to feel my control slowly bein to drip away as if it were a leaking faucet. If I were honest with myself however, I would admit that I was angry with myself for not checking in sooner. She was in fact a guest in my home. It was my job to keep order and control in my home, my pack and myself. ‘She’s ours to protect you idiot’ my wolf Archer griped at me. ‘She isn’t ours. Remember what Beatrice said? We don’t get a fated mate.’ Beatrice was a seer that had visited the pack when my father was still Alpha. Ever since then her words stayed with me. ‘I see a world of darkness ahead. A world with no mate or companion that is yours.’ My m
Seraphina POV “Uh, who are you?” I asked to the short, curvy blonde, who was most certainly not a packhouse staff-member. I placed a hand on my mouth realizing rude I must have sounded. What if this was Alpha Callan’s lover? I had no right asking who she was. She must have read the look on my face and burst out into laughter. “Oh jeeze, you must be Sera, I’m Maeve,” She gave me an expectant look as if her name were to mean something to me. “Nice to meet you Maeve. Alpha Callan isn’t here, but I can let you him know–”“No silly, I am here for you,” She pointed to the ottoman where a basket of women’s products and clothes sat. “Cal asked me to bring you some items to make you more comfortable. He told me what happened,” She said empathetically. Her Chesnut colored eyes seemed to sparkle from the flames of the fire that was burning in the hearth. After the first 15 minutes of small talk with Maeve, I knew she was someone I would want in my corner. Although short, her aura was fierce
Seraphina POV I woke up the next morning with something heavy on my waist and something hard poking at my rear. The black-out curtains did nothing to help me identify the source that was holding me hostage by keeping the room completely black. I wiggled again causing the hardness to poke me further. As I finally became aware of my surroundings and realized no what, but WHO was behind me and what part of him was poking me, did I lurch away from him. Naturally, because things weren’t awkward enough, I miscalculated how much of the bed I had on my side and fell off the bed. With a loud hmmph, I hit half of my body on the area rug and half on the dark wood floors. I sqeaked at the cold floor hitting my bare skin, before groaning when the pain in my knee radiated up my leg. A sleepy, dischelved, Callan looked over the side at the bed and down at me who still lay sprawled on the floor. “You know, the bed is a lot more comfortable than the floor.”I glared up at him. “No shit Sherlock!
Seraphina POVA wave of deja vu crashed into me as I walked into Callan’s office. Although it wasn’t the same as my father’s office, the smells of cigar smoke mixed with leather and spice reminded me of my father’s office. Callan motioned to the leather chair that sat in front of his desk, silently instructing me to sit. I listened and placed my hands in my lap and began to fidget with my mother’s bracelet that I wore. Callan took off his black framed blue light glasses, and looked towards me. The act itself innocent but also alluring. “I want to discuss your role within this pack and what my expectations are of you,” he said assertively while clasping his hands together. I nodded in understanding. “And I would like to discuss our arrangement as a whole.” Callan gave me a slight nod. “Before we get into the job responsibilities, I want to discuss what being Luna of this pack would look like.” He paused as if he were thinking of how he would word his next sentence. “What were your
Allister POV The sight of a raven-haired beauty with indigo eyes was the last thing I remembered seeing as I woke up that morning. I sat up and scrubbed a hand down my face in frustration. Ever since Seraphina left with Alpha Callan, I kept on having dreams about her. Some sexual, some just of her delicate beauty. I wasn’t sure what to make of the dreams, but I knew I needed to do something to get her out of my head. I looked over at the other side of the bed that was empty. No doubt Lyla was at her morning yoga class. Chrissy had been avoiding me since Seraphina had left the packlands. But she would learn what avoiding me would cost her. I quickly got dressed and made my way over to Alpha Samuel’s quarters. Being his Beta had it’s advantages. No one questioned me when I told the guards they were dismissed. This part of my plan was by far my most creative. No one would suspect that I would be the one poisoning Alpha Samuel.“You know Samuel, I always found it infuriating that you al
Allister POVI walked into the pack meeting with my head held high. Today seven new members would become part of our pack. Unbeknownst to everyone attending, these members were part of the initial attack. If anyone recognized the men and women, they didn’t dare say anything. Pack members whispered as I walked down the isle towards the stage. It was weird not having Seraphina here by my side. I stood on the stage as pack members and the soon-to-be pack members gathered around. This would be my first official meeting running the pack. Other than the emergency meeting I conducted, where pack protocol deemed me as Alpha since Samuel was in a coma. The seven new members completed their oath and the rest of the meeting went by quickly since no one seemed to want to speak up during it. Once the meeting was adjourned, Lyla’s smile went into a flat line before she shoved me off. The act took me by surprise. “Why would you announce that?” My surprise turned to shock at her tone. I furrowed
Seraphina POVI spent the next couple of days working alongside Callan and completing all of his requests. If I was asked to color-code one more thing, I was going to lose it. For my first task, Callan had me organize all of his books in his library by color– which ranged from forest green to black. Nothing in this packhouse was “colorful.” Once that was complete, I was to organize his already organized closet, including his underwear drawer. I swore it was just to make me annoyed. Instead of organizing his underwear by color, I decided to make the letters F and U in the lighter shades of gray in the middle of the drawer. I had smiled at my handy work before continuing to my other tasks. Callan was less than impressed when he saw my organizing skills of his undergarments. The punishment of having to clean toilets in the employee bathroom was totally worth the look on Callan’s bright red face when he came to ask me about it. I was now back to staying in my room, although for some rea
POV Seraphina I walked out of the restroom when I thought the coast was clear of Lyla and her friend. As my poor luck would have it, Lyla and two others sat at some easels across the room, awaiting the class. I tried to avoid my gaze as I found Maeve, who was placing two drinks for us on the table. I tried to calm my racing heart as I sat down in front of the blank canvas. Maeve leaned towards me and placed a hand on my leather-covered shoulder. “Are you alright?” Her asked with concern. I moved my clutch onto my lap and pretended to be going through its contents. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Drake stood near the opposite entrance of the bar, while our “The blonde across from us with the red head and brunette,” I started.Maeve immediately looked around her canvas, holding no semblance of being discrete. I immediately pulled her closer to me. “Don’t look at her!” I hissed. “I don’t want her to see me.” Maeve looked at me confused. I met her eyes, “that’s Lyla.” Maeve’
