Amber's pov I stood motionless as I observed Adrian pressing his phone against his right ear, and in my mind, I kept thinking, 'Wouldn't my grandma tell him what I don't want her to say?' If I could have taken the phone from him, I would have done it immediately. "Please, don't call my grandma. If I have any issues with her, we will resolve them ourselves," I said after thinking outside the box and walking towards the house. I was upset, and Adrian quickly followed me. "What's the matter?" he asked, and I could hear his phone ringing. Fortunately, my grandma probably wasn't near her phone, and the call ended without her answering. "What's wrong?" Adrian held my hand as I stood near the door of our room. I didn't want to look at his face. Contemplating my encounter with his mom and my grandma, I felt both furious and confused. "Can you please let me sit down? I've been feeling stressed," I requested. What happened next was that he instantly picked me up, carrying me as if I
Author’s pov Dave sat down in his sitting room all by himself. He rested his back against the chair and occasionally opened and closed his eyes. One of his legs was on the stool and he looked very weak. The glassy table close to him has two empty bottles of alcoholic wine. The time was around 10 am. He pulled his back and wanted to take the glass cup on the table when he discovered that he had finished it. Since morning, he had been drinking. The movement of his body as he tried to collect the cup clearly showed that he had become intoxicated. He checked the two bottles by shaking it and he saw that he had finished it. He waited for a while as he planned to go to the bar to collect another bottle of wine. His beards were unkempt and because he was a hairy person, it made him older than his age. As he tried to stand up, he fell back to the chair. “Amber!” He paused as he demonstrated with both hands. “I am alone. I missed out on a precious and sincere woman. Lust on Gwen has cause
Adrian's pov Amber's persistence has made me think back to when I actually met Dora. It was a sweet and ugly incident which I didn't love to keep in mind. Why does she want to know about Dora and my past relationship? Just like the first time I saw Dora, that was how I saw her when I went to my parents' house. The first time I set my eyes on Dora was when my parents had a picnic several years ago. At that time, I was still in highschool and we were on one holiday. I was sitting on the mat at the beach alone when someone at that time to me was like an angel who fell from the heavens and walked past my ocean view. I was looking at the beautiful rocky waves of the sea when she walked and her beauty distorted my view. At my age at times, no one has drawn my attention. I remembered how I followed her with my looks. She was putting on a black swimming trunks and her hair was so sparkling and long that it's tips reached her waist. I kept looking that I didn't know when I came from beh
Adrian's pov This was something that I didn't want to talk about since I decided to gradually stop communicating with Dora many years ago. I knew my mum loved Dora so much and telling her what she did would definitely make her hate her. Since I had made up my mind to let go of the relationship, I thought it was unnecessary to say it out. She had been my mom's close friend. In fact, her friendship has also brought her parents closer to my parents. I could see in Amber's eyes that she wanted to know what went wrong and the way she lately demonstrated has indicated that she was having some doubt in me. Why will I ever go back to Dora?If she was the only last person on earth, I would rather remain unmarried. And keeping this to myself, would affect my precious relationship that I have established with Amber. “What I am about to tell you shouldn't be used against Dora? Or should you tell anyone else?” “Why will I tell anyone? I want to know why you separated from her,” she repl
Amber's pov When I saw Adrian's mother and Dora entering the house, my heart raced. I couldn't stand and witness what was going to happen. All I could do was to go inside. While I was inside, I heard Adrian raising his voice at his mother. “Mom, what's all these? I never thought you meant it when you said you wanted to bring Dora here.” “Dora is your first love, there is nothing you can do about it,” his mom replied. “Mom, I'm no longer in love with her.” “You better watch your mouth. Why will you say something like that in the presence of a lady?” “Mom, I don't want her here.” Why can't he just tell his mom what he has told me? Why is he so sensitive to someone else's reputation? He saw her cheating, why keep such information that could settle the whole matter? There will be no way that I can stay comfortable in this house with Adrian's mom and Dora. I hate such an environment. I was about to conclude to myself when Adrian entered the room and shut the door. “Darling
Dave’s pov It’s been almost a week since I lost everything that I have worked hard for. My investment that I thought that the Morgan’s family were about to give me back. If I had known, I wouldn’t have allowed Gwen’s seduction to take me away. She made me leave Amber, someone who went as far to almost reclaim all of my properties. If not for Amber, I wouldn’t be living in this house that was initially taken by the Morgan’s family. Why was I so foolish that I let go of the woman that loved me so much. She did all she could to help me stand back financially. As I was still thinking of my life while on the bed, my phone rang. I turned and looked at the screen and saw that it was Benson called. I immediately returned to my previous lying position. Since Benson came and saw me drunk the other day, he had tried his best to help me. But I can’t work under anybody for now. He has successfully arranged for an interview for me and I guess that was why he was calling me now. The interview w
Author's pov “Is it true you are here? Have you come here to ruin the wealth of my friend, Smith?” Dave asked. Gwen looked at him sarcastically, lowering her eyes and also raising them to his forehead before saying, “Did you consider yourself rich in the first place? You, who was eating from the scrubs of Adrian's wealth. I never brought you down because you were already down before I came into your life.” “Gwen, how dare you talk to me like that?” He wanted to hold her fingers that she pointed at him, but Gwen moved back a bit and said angrily. “Leave my property, or I will call the police.” “This is not your property, where is Smith?” Dave raised his voice and suddenly, Gwen became afraid and she lowered her voice. “Why are you doing this to me? Have we not broken up? What do you want from me again?” “I will not allow you to do to Smith what you did to me…” “Darling, what's going on there?” Smith, a man with a deep voice said and he was walking towards the front doo
Author's pov Mrs. Morgan was in her room at Adrian's house, having stayed there for the past three days without any intention of returning to her husband's house. It was morning, and she was alone when suddenly Dora entered the room, engrossed in a phone call. Mrs. Morgan was startled, causing the phone in her right hand to slip from her grasp. Dora had a habit of entering her room without knocking, and both of them were still in their nightwear. Dora walked silently to the other side of the room near the window, oblivious to the fact that her sudden appearance had startled Mrs. Morgan. "Why didn't you knock? You startled me," Mrs. Morgan said, picking up her phone from the floor. However, Dora remained silent. Still a bit upset, Mrs. Morgan approached her, subconsciously seeking an apology. When she turned Dora to face her, she noticed that Dora was crying. Mrs. Morgan's initial anger dissolved, and she gazed at Dora, contemplating how to address her tears. Before she could say
