Dave’s pov It’s been almost a week since I lost everything that I have worked hard for. My investment that I thought that the Morgan’s family were about to give me back. If I had known, I wouldn’t have allowed Gwen’s seduction to take me away. She made me leave Amber, someone who went as far to almost reclaim all of my properties. If not for Amber, I wouldn’t be living in this house that was initially taken by the Morgan’s family. Why was I so foolish that I let go of the woman that loved me so much. She did all she could to help me stand back financially. As I was still thinking of my life while on the bed, my phone rang. I turned and looked at the screen and saw that it was Benson called. I immediately returned to my previous lying position. Since Benson came and saw me drunk the other day, he had tried his best to help me. But I can’t work under anybody for now. He has successfully arranged for an interview for me and I guess that was why he was calling me now. The interview w
Author's pov “Is it true you are here? Have you come here to ruin the wealth of my friend, Smith?” Dave asked. Gwen looked at him sarcastically, lowering her eyes and also raising them to his forehead before saying, “Did you consider yourself rich in the first place? You, who was eating from the scrubs of Adrian's wealth. I never brought you down because you were already down before I came into your life.” “Gwen, how dare you talk to me like that?” He wanted to hold her fingers that she pointed at him, but Gwen moved back a bit and said angrily. “Leave my property, or I will call the police.” “This is not your property, where is Smith?” Dave raised his voice and suddenly, Gwen became afraid and she lowered her voice. “Why are you doing this to me? Have we not broken up? What do you want from me again?” “I will not allow you to do to Smith what you did to me…” “Darling, what's going on there?” Smith, a man with a deep voice said and he was walking towards the front doo
Author's pov Mrs. Morgan was in her room at Adrian's house, having stayed there for the past three days without any intention of returning to her husband's house. It was morning, and she was alone when suddenly Dora entered the room, engrossed in a phone call. Mrs. Morgan was startled, causing the phone in her right hand to slip from her grasp. Dora had a habit of entering her room without knocking, and both of them were still in their nightwear. Dora walked silently to the other side of the room near the window, oblivious to the fact that her sudden appearance had startled Mrs. Morgan. "Why didn't you knock? You startled me," Mrs. Morgan said, picking up her phone from the floor. However, Dora remained silent. Still a bit upset, Mrs. Morgan approached her, subconsciously seeking an apology. When she turned Dora to face her, she noticed that Dora was crying. Mrs. Morgan's initial anger dissolved, and she gazed at Dora, contemplating how to address her tears. Before she could say
Amber's pov I have never felt this kind of embarrassment before. I stood before those who hated me. Mrs Morgan and Dora took the advantage of Adrian's absence. When Adrian told me that he was about to leave and see his dad, I immediately knew I was in big trouble. It's very obvious, Adrian's mother doesn't love me. She sees me as a gold digger and she uses every opportunity to humiliate me. Dora was the happiest, she kept smiling and occasionally laughed as I was going out of the house. Mrs Morgan didn't allow me to take a single thing of my own. “I was told you came here alone, and you were holding a handbag. My son bought everything you are saying you have. My son will never marry you. Never!” She raised her voice at me. All the guards were just looking at me helplessly as Mrs Morgan was following me as I can out of the house. When I came out of the compound, I went straight to the car I drove here and I was waiting to see if she would come and tell me that it was Adrian
Author’s pov Adrian raced towards his father's house, his heart pounding with fear. On his way here while in his car, he had gripped his phone, tempted to make some calls about the situation, but his mother's words kept resurfacing, holding him back. As he arrived, he hastily parked the car without bothering to lock the door and hurried inside. "Good morning, sir," some of the guards greeted him, but he disregarded them and proceeded indoors. He made his way to his father's sitting room, only to find it empty. It was as he expected, so he hurried to his father's bedroom, but his father was nowhere to be found. Exiting the room, he encountered one of the guards near the dining room. "Where is my dad, and which hospital have they taken him to?" he asked, but the guard was shocked, and he was unable to respond quickly due to the shock caused by Adrian's words. "Are you deaf?" Adrian raised his voice. "Sir, your father is upstairs with a friend." "Are you insane? Do you think I'
Author's pov Dora took all her clothes in her luggage and she could hear Mrs Morgan and Adrian exchanging words in the sitting room. “I am the cause of all those commotion in Adrian's house,” she thought as she was almost done. “If I should stay here any longer, Adrian might embarrass me.” When she heard some footsteps, she quickly stopped what she was doing. Mrs Morgan had stood in front of her some minutes ago, stopping her from packing her things. Dora has given up on this fight. She doesn't want to fight for her place in Adrian's life. Adrian in question doesn't love her again. “What have I done that Adrian hates me so much?” She asked herself. When she didn't hear the footsteps again, she finally arranged her luggage and came out of the room. On getting to the sitting room, Adrian and her mom were sitting on a separate chair. “Where are you going? How many times have I told you to stay in this house?” “Mrs Morgan, let me go. Adrian has hated me to the point that I fee
Author’s pov Mrs Morgan felt a burning sensation all over her body as she could hold back Dora from leaving Adrian’s home. As she reflected on the fact that her only son had left the house to go and meet Amber, she moved around the large sitting room. Her hands were on her back and she was thinking about what to do. “If Adrian had even chosen Anita, the heir to Charlton’s corporations, it would have been better.” She thought and walked up to the wine bar. “Ma, breakfast is ready!” The cook said. “Get out of here,” she shouted. She stood and lost the desire to drink any wine again. Her face was furious. She couldn’t believe seeing that she had lost some large percentage of control over her son that always wanted to please her. Filled with countless thoughts, she collected the glass cup and forgot to take a bottle of wine with her as she walked back to the chair she was sitting down on. “How dare Adrian refuse to listen to me? Never will I accept Amber as the wife of my son.
Amber's pov If Adrian had truly said he loved me, he would have waited a little longer. I sat on the chair, my shoulders feeling weak emotionally, making it difficult to stand and go to my grandma's room. My mind was filled with thoughts, wondering who had informed Dave about my relationship issues with Adrian. "Is he keeping tabs on me?" I wondered aloud. Who has he paid to gather information about me? I explicitly told him never to come here again. Leaning my head against the chair, my grandma emerged from her room. Her kind of face was not what I love to see when angry. "So, if I don't give you your phone, you won't eat dinner?" she questioned. I remained silent, realizing that if she weren't my grandma, she wouldn't dare try what she just did. She intentionally hid my phone and put it on silent. If I had known, I wouldn't have shared the details of what Adrian's mom did to me. It upset her greatly, and she wanted me to be upset too. With such anger, she hoped to break my
