Author's pov When Amber and Mrs Morgan were in the hospital room with her husband, she received those pictures from Merit. Mr Morgan was awake at the time, and he had managed to sit at the edge of the bed answering a phone call from one of his friends. Mrs Morgan didn't want to involve her husband on the well organized plot that she has done. Perhaps, her husband's remark might not give what she wanted Amber to perceive. “Come Amber,” she held her right hand and pulled her up hurriedly. Her husband only looked at them and continued what he was doing. He had no clue of what his wife had planned and he never thought otherwise. When they got out of the room, she held Amber's hand and said, “Amber, I called you here for very vital information. I have taken you as my future son's wife, but what my son is doing right now at his house is not what I was expecting.” “What is he doing?” She asked with no panic yet and she added, “I will be going to his house tomorrow.” “That decisi
Author’s pov Mrs Williams was inside the house, sitting on the couch closer to the television. It was late noon and there was an empty bottle of wine close to her feet. She looked very sober and her eyes were almost closing. She rested the back of her head against the headrest when she heard the sound of a car entering her compound. “Is that Jasper?” She thought. From where she was sitting, she stretched her body and saw that it was her daughter, Merit. She relaxed herself again and waited for her to come inside. Mrs Willaims couldn’t tell why it took her daughter an unusual length of seconds for her to come out of the car and enter the sitting room. Despite the delay, her mum didn’t try to look outside again, but her eyes were focused on the entrance door. “Where are you coming from?” Mrs Williams thundered. The way she sounded startled her daughter and she stood still for a while and their eyes were on each other. “I said where are you coming from?” She asked again. “From
Amber's pov It was like a bad dream inside a good dream. Some people have experienced it, having a dream inside another dream. Becoming Adrian's girlfriend and being accepted by his aggressive mum was like a good dream. I was shocked to see how nice she was to me at the hospital. We were so close that she couldn't keep to herself what she had discussed with her son. She had been our biggest obstacle. She was so difficult to deal with at first to the point that Adrian doesn't want her to be around him. Maybe it was the persistence that Adrian showed that helped her to reevaluate our relationship. She became the secret mind of Adrian, the first to hint to me of Adrian's engagement plan. Our communication was the initial reason I didn't think otherwise when I sensed Adrian, always trying to prevent me from coming to his house. I kept expecting the surprise, but it was taking eternity. At one point, I felt in my mind that I wanted to go to his house. Later, I started having thoughts
Author's pov When Amber's grandma couldn't open the door, she kept knocking. “Why can't you open the door? You are the one who asked me to leave and now you are calling my name. Stop kidding me,” she said and stood at the door. When she didn't hear Amber's voice again. She hit the door heavily. “Amber….” She screamed. Her heart immediately raced as she had no idea of what was happening to Amber. The door was so strong that she was too fragile to give it a heavy kick. It was at this moment she heard a knock on the front door. Her first inclination was maybe it was one of the women who took care of her. “Joyce, please come inside. Amber has locked herself inside her room and she is not talking to me, and she has been calling for help!” She said quickly. The front door burst open and when she asked for a few seconds, Dave was rushing to her. “What happened to Amber?” He quickly asked. Instead of talking, her grandma involuntarily reacted and pointed at her room door. “Insid
Author's pov Adrian hadn't finished reading Amber's message when his phone fell from his hands. “Oh my god! Where is Amber?” He raised his voice. He was initially shocked and within a very short period of time, he became enraged and as he was about to stand up, James quickly said, “But sir, you are…”James wanted to emphasize the fact that he was taking treatment only for him to get a push from Adrian. “How could you have allowed what happened to happen to me?” He widened his eyes and some of the things that were fixed on his body fell off. His rage attracted one of the doctors attending to him. He rushed in and opened the door. When the doctor saw his anger, he stood afar and used his hands to demonstrate, “Please, consider yourself healthy first. Please!” The doctor in a white lab suit continued to please. “Don't tell me that. Come and take the things away from my body.” “Okay, we will…but,” he wanted to say something, but Adrian opened his eyes and pointed at him.
Author’s pov Adrian lifted his heavy eyes away from the phone screen and blinked his eyes. He took a deep breath and as he was opening his eyes, he caught a glance of James’s eyes on him through the rear mirror. His eyes looked apprehensive and he quickly said, “James!” Adrian shook his head while at the same time lowered his face. When he raised up his face, he asked James, “Tell me what you know and how it all happened? My main concern right now is to get Amber back into my life. But James, I am disappointed in you. You let down your guards James. Why will you allow all of this to happen to me and you know that I was drugged?” He raised his voice. “Sir..Sir, I became aware when Amber came home.” “You mean Amber saw me naked?” Adrian interrupted, but James couldn’t answer out of fear. “Answer me,” he hit the seat with both hands and in the process, his head almost touched the roof of the car as he applied great force. “Yes. But Sir, I tried to stop you when Merit was
Author's pov Adrian didn't or was very impatient to allow the car to finally stop in the front of the hospital where his dad was receiving treatment before opening the door of the car. Immediately the car halted he rushed down and he didn't even wait for James to remove the car key from the mouth of the car. The intensity of his pace became very noticeable when he placed his feet on the hospital's floor. There was a striking sound of his hard Italian black shoes as he walked towards the intensive care unit of the hospital. Adrian was having one thing in me, to take his mom out of the room and asked her a direct question regarding what happened to him. When he got into the room, his dad was awake and he was chatting with his wife. “Adrian!” His dad called out with excitement. Then his eyes were on the door that Adrian didn't close. Adrian couldn't connect while his dad was conscious of the door and he thought that it was because he forgot to close it. Then James entered and cl
Amber's pov My grandma has refused to tell me who damaged my door. It's been almost a full day and she has refused to give me a hint. Why would someone come into the house and damage my door with a hammer? The more I reflected on it, the more I started remembering what happened. Yesterday, I remembered that I started losing breath and I started calling my grandma's name. “Oh!” I stood up at once. My grandma saved my life. I was sitting in the sitting room and my grandma was inside her room. She had just finished bathing when I entered the room. Her towel was still around her chest. “Amber!” she said aloud as she wasn't expecting me and I opened the door without a knock. She was on call and her phone fell from her hand as she was startled by me. She quickly picked up her call, maybe she ended the call because of me or probably the call had ended. I didn't border if my grandma was hiding something from me. I went and sat on her bed and I said, “Grandma, thank you so much for wh
