Ryker

I heard the engine turn off outside. I felt my heart speed up. What the hell is wrong with me? I don't get nervous. I watched the candles dance on the table and watched her walk through the door. It was a small restaurant owned by friends. Iris was laughing about something with Deacon, my driver. He isn't paid to laugh. Stop it, you're being irrational I thought walking up to greet them. "Hello Iris," I said walking towards her. I reached for her hand kissing it but letting go quickly. She looked breathtaking, and I could feel my desire for her to grow. I took a deep breath letting it out slowly looking at Deacon's knowing expression. "Thank you, Deacon. Are you hungry I can send you a plate?" I asked him. Deacon had been with me for a while. He was like family to me. He shook his head no adding that he would rather go eat with his family. I told him I would text him when Iris and I were ready to go home. She smiled at him thanking him for the ride before he got back into the car and pulled off. She turned back to me and I pulled her hand slightly to lead her inside. Her curiosity was obvious as she walked into the building. "What do you think of the restaurant?" I asked her wanting to know what was happening in her pretty little mind. She tilted her head at me slightly before telling me it was smaller than she thought I would choose. "Eh, it's one of my favorites. Best Alfredo around." I said pulling out her chair and asking her to sit down. She did as I asked. I ordered a white wine and poured us both a glass. I set the wine in an ice chill, before sitting down across from her. The flames from the candles danced in her eyes as she looked at me. "How were your classes?" I asked honestly wondering how her day was. Eric Skinnle was very impressed with her boldness, he told me she would be quite a choice in a phone call earlier. I shut him up, telling him I couldn't cross that line. He told me she was sure to accept my offer as my assistant. We will see I suppose.

She told me about her day while she ate her alfredo. I smiled watching her eat a meal that wasn't between two slices of bread. She looked up at me smiling, "What?" she said probably wondering why I was staring. "I enjoy watching you eat something that didn't come from a vending machine," I said chuckling under my breath. "Tis the life of the college student, ya know?" she laughed as well. I didn't know. My father paid for everything when I came to college. I didn't have to struggle at all. He was so happy his pressure sent me into the path he had chosen for me, he did everything to keep me there. She started talking about some guy named Stephen allowing her to borrow a camera for her photography club. If I did pursue this desire for her, these college boys, I can see, would be a headache for me. "That was nice of him." She gave me a look of disbelief. I smirked at her. It was like she knew me well already. My jealousy is usually not this strong, but when I saw Adam with his arm on her, I wanted to break it. "How was your meal?" I asked watching her finish her glass of wine. She smiled and told me it was very tasty. A waitress came and grabbed our plates, taking them away swiftly. She smiled at her and asked what they had as desserts. Eric was right. She is bold. She smiled and lifted her wine glass to me. "I am not much of a drinker, but I could use another glass." She said with a nervous laugh. I knew she wasn't 21 yet, but I would ensure she got to her dorm safely. I got up and refilled her glass along with my own.

"Are you going to explain to me what this offer is I am getting?" She said sitting her glass down and looking straight at my eyes. "I already told you Iris. I want to be your mentor. I want to teach you things you won't learn in normal classroom settings. I want you to be my assistant." I realized I was sounding too eager so I stopped, "But you don't have to." She tilted her head at me like she was confused. "You are going to ignore the attraction I know we both have?" she said outright. Maybe no more wine. I smiled at her, "Iris, I am your professor and quite a bit older than you are. I don't think you fully understand what you are asking for sweet innocent girl." She glared at me for a moment, before standing up and moving her chair closer to mine. "I don't really, no. I do know I don't care about the age difference." she smiled at me with stars dancing in her beautiful eyes. I had to look away to keep from diving into them. "What if we do this first," I said setting the mentorship paper down on the table, "and see how it goes as we get to know one another better?" I ran my fingers down her cheek and they got red with my touch. She is so innocent, that I have to let her run off with Adam, Stephen, or some college boy who has the experience level of one of them. It's wrong for me to want this girl, wrong for me to expose her to my life. I kissed her forehead, "Is that a deal?" I asked as she looked down at the paperwork. She didn't speak but signed the paper smiling down at it. "Iris?" I said trying to get a vocal response. She looked up at me and licked her lips and I felt my pants tighten. Why does she affect me so much? I haven't wanted a woman in so long, but this one is going to weaken me. "I understand Mr. Professor." She bit her bottom lip and I crashed mine into her. I used my tongue to explore hers, tasting the sarcasm she just spat at me. She tasted sweet, but spicy and threatening. I couldn't stay away from her if I tried.

I made myself back away from her still, watching her sit there breathless. I imagined her tied to my bed begging me to kiss her again, and I had to push the thoughts out of my mind. This isn't a club, and she isn't a normal sub. I am not even sure she knows what it means to be one. I won't scare her away with it, but it isn't fair to give her some fairytale of someone I am not. I am someone who imagines bending her over this table and spanking her for mouthing off to me, not a prince charming. I am the older man with the mysterious ways, but it may just be a mystery she doesn't want to be solved. She looked up at me with wide eyes and I realized I was dazing off with a mischievous look on my face. "I'm sorry Iris, did you say something?" I asked softly trying to come back to the table, and out of my dominating imagination. "No professor, I didn't. So as an assistant what are my obligations?" She asked professionally showing me she was ready to play the game. I explained to her what her duties would be. Helping me in class while also helping me grade papers in my office after hours. She would be excused from classes on certain days and I would make sure she got the lesson for that day. She would be with me every day for at least an hour during school hours, and a few after. She smiled at me, now with her mischievous look. "I think I can handle that boss." She rolled her eyes, and it sent an electric shock through my body. I held back the urge to react. "Well Miss Iris, seems we have a partnership of sorts now don't we?" I said holding up my glass for a toast. She held up her own with a smirk.

When Deacon and I dropped her off she didn't kiss me this time, trying to match my energy. Deacon didn't say much during the ride back to my house until we pulled up out front. "That one is a firecracker Ryk, She will give you a run for your money." He chuckled. I ran my hand through my hair, "You are not wrong D, but this is going to stay strictly professional." I said lying to him and myself. "Listen, boss, I don't know why you don't want the challenge, but if not, can I take it?" He said smirking at me, he wanted a reaction. He wanted me to show that I was lying before indeed. I laughed out loud. "Let's hold off on that buddy." He looked at me holding up an okay symbol with his hand, and I help up the Fuck you finger as I walked towards my house. "Let yourself enjoy something again boss!" He yelled before driving away. When I entered the house, I felt alone. This isn't strange as I am always alone, but it stung a little more tonight. "Stop crying about it son, Stay in control always." I could hear my father in my head. I shook off the bad feeling went to the shower and stood in the water for a while. I left my life as a ruthless attorney, came back to this school, and away from the bigger cities to control my urges. My darker lustful demons underneath had become much too strong before. The clubs, the subs I went through, the sex and play, it was all overwhelming. I had to get away, before I was exposed as a deviant to the world. The last was suppose to be the last, after she was married off. How has this young woman taken such a hold on me? Before lying in bed I checked my phone.

Hello Professor, Thank you for a wonderful dinner. I will see you tomorrow for my first day as assistant to the one and only Lorcane. Im Ready.

-IRIS

I smiled.

IRISThe whole time I stood in the shower I continued to picture the stubbled chin of Ryker Lorcane. It shocked me that he didn't choose some unnecessarily large five-star restaurant. I knew he had the money for it, but he said he didn't need it. I respected that. I threw on a soft pair of pajamas and headed to my dorm. I saw Mage heading towards me and tried to dodge a conversation. "Iris wait!" I heard her shout down the hallway causing me to stop. I didn't want to be rude. She had always been very nice to me. I turned around acknowledging her presence with a smile. "Hello Mage, how are you today." She was wearing an oversized hoodie and red plaid pj pants. Her messy bun looked freshly done, and her eyes were lined in thick black like she was headed to a rave instead of a bed. "I am okay Iris. I hope you are well. How was your Philosophy class? Professor Lorcane gave you shit, I hear. If you need to talk to someone who can help you change the class let me know. I have so many impor

RykerShe slept in, which irritated me, but I let it go. I have to remember that she is young. She is my assistant and not my submissive. She isn't mine. I watched her melt after I touched her pouty plump lip with my thumb, but I felt as if she stuck it out there for me to touch. I wanted to bite it, but I couldn't. I asked her to see me because I wanted to let her know I was not as she believed. I want her to understand she is perfect, just not for a man like me. I haven't always been a mild-mannered professor of philosophy. I was ruthless. I was a taker, not a giver. I needed to have control, and I still operate in that way in my own life. I have spent time in BDSM clubs just to find a like-minded woman. I don't usually meet women outside of that. I don't usually want to. I could bet 10 million dollars that Iris is a virgin, or has barely been touched. Never by a real man, and never by a man like me. I would send her to the moon in seconds, and she wouldn't want to ever come down. Th

IRISI sat there grading papers in silence. I don't know what to say to him. Maybe I pushed him too far. Maybe I don't know what I am getting myself into. I looked up at him and he was focusing hard on his computer screen. "I'm sorry," I said softly but he didn't budge. I started to think he didn't hear me, but he looked up and smiled. "Don't be sorry beautiful girl." He said softly in return. "You aren't wrong Iris. You just don't know the extent of what you are seeing. You don't know what your obvious empathic abilities are showing you." He looked back to his computer. I graded another paper looking carefully at the key. What did he mean by the extent? I could tell he was always in control of his surroundings. I find that sexy. When he grabbed me and put his fingers around my throat I felt a rush I had never felt before. I wanted him to hold me there. I wasn't scared. I didn't think he wanted to hurt me, I could just see how much desire he had to touch me. I could see he wanted to be

I won't lie, her canceling on Stephen made me happy. I looked over the documents one last time before hitting send... Sub: Read it thoroughlyHello Sweet Iris, Please read through these things. Don't rush through it beautiful, I will wait for you to make a decision. There is an out clause as well. This doesn't work if you don't want it to. It only works if you release control to me, trust me, and if we respect each other. It's not something I take, it's something you give. I will make you better, as you will me. IRISI shook my head closing my eyes. This all felt very surreal to me. I had read about these things after that fifty shades of grey stuff went wild. I had an interest in the idea. I had never considered myself being faced with something similar. Ryker laughed at me when I mentioned that reference but it's the only time I had heard about the BDSM community. Hesitating I decided to add Stephen's number to my phone before dealing with the email. I put his number in my contacts sending him a text telling him it was me. Stephen was different from Adam, but also different from Ryker. He was in all black and had chains on his pants. His fingernails were black and I thought he was wearing black eyeliner as well. His blue eyes popped out at you like little stars on his face. He was darker and mysterious, but the first to offer to help me with a camera. His black hair had subtle red highlights and fell over his left eye. He had big silver rings on his fingers, and braided bracelets on his wris

RykerI watched from afar as Stephen walked up to her and reached her the camera. He smiled at her and touched her hair. I took a deep breath trying not to walk over and break his hand. My jealousy has never affected me this much before. I feel like that continues to confuse me. She messaged me at 9 A.m. and told me she was meeting Stephen at 10 A.m. beside the library to get the camera. I like that she told me, I don't like that I couldn't stop myself from coming to watch. She isn't mine yet. I watched as she walked away from him to head to meet Kate, I hid halfway behind the pillar as she walked by. I watched Stephen watch her. I couldn't blame him she was breathtaking. He watched her until he couldn't see her anymore, smirked, and walked away. Fuck. I don't do this. I don't compete. I walked back to my office, pulled out my phone, and messaged Skinnle telling him I hoped Kate was ready. I got a simple, "she is" in return. I didn't want her to convince Iris really, just to tell her

IRISIt was different, the way I felt when Ryker spanked me. It made me emotional yet excited. When he was done I wanted to give my virginity over to him. I didn't even think about it. I feel like my body responded before my mind caught up. He gave me a card to buy lingerie for our "playtime" tonight. That's what he called it. I didn't want to let him buy me anything but he strongly insisted. I looked up at him when I was leaving his office. His eyes looked dark, carnal, and dangerous. I hadn't seen him look this way before. I think the spanking did something to him as well. It should scare me, but it doesn't. It's welcoming to me, enticing me to follow him into the darkness. "Okay sweet Iris, away you go, I have class soon. I will not under any circumstance risk your education for this. So we need to take precautions. Relationships between professors and students are strongly frowned upon." Ryker said to me his eyes returning to normal. I smiled, "Kate told me. This is why you made me

RykerIt felt like classes lasted longer. I wanted to get off work and meet her at the restaurant. I sat and listened to blonde Barbie number 25 tell me about her Philosophy quote, with no vision, batting her eyelashes and exaggerating her hip movements. I thought fondly of Iris the whole time, this girl couldn't take my focus off of her if she tried. I smiled. "Thank you. Nice Job Dear." I call most of them dear cause its too many names, but they still get all bubbly. I smirked. Michael was one of my older assistants, I used to only use males, so something like Iris didn't happen. Funny I saw her before she even came through my classroom door. "Okay class, these all sounded very good. Very interesting take on these quotes." I lied. "Michael will take all of your essays, and then you may go. I have an appointment I need to go get ready for." I looked to Michael and he nodded. He was a skinny guy with glasses and freckles. He reminded me of a grown-up version of that boy on Home Alone,

IRIS I swallowed deeply when I heard the name. That man was terrifying. Claud. Flashes of the wicked smile he had on his face when abusing me were stuck in my mind. He wanted to hurt me. I looked from face to face, looking for answers in their eyes. No one said anything. Theo reached over for my hand, and I saw Ryker flinch when I took it. I was terrified. I didn’t care whose hand I held if someone was keeping me safe. Deacon was on the phone immediately asking the guys in security to trace and follow the call. Theo pulled out his phone as well, calling his contact to find out what he could do from his side. I closed my eyes. “Tell me where you are mother fucker, don’t be afraid, I wanna chat.” Ryker sounded murderous. I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing. I felt tears burning in my eyes, but I wasn’t sure if it was from fear, anger, or sadness. I had a mixture of them brewing inside of me. “Ryk?” I said softly looking up at him. He calmed. Instead of cursing into the phone he

IrisThe darkness in his eyes when I asked him about his name told me more than his words did. “Its my last name.” He was short and stern with his response, but his eyes told me the most. Lorcane was like his shadow person, the darkness inside of him. The person they all see as dangerous. The one who was violent and cold. Lorcane was someone I have only seen pieces of. He is a prosecutor, but I am starting to think at this point he also played executioner. What I wasn’t sure of was if he still played that role. A lot of what I knew about him, the powerful, well managed, prosecutor turned professor was not who I thought he was. Not as disciplined. Not as in control. “I am not an idiot Ryker.” I said winching as I tried to sit up straight. “I know you aren’t Iris, but I also know I don’t know everything about your past.” His words burned some. His emotional state when he walked in had now turned. He was now defensive and guarded. I am sure he has questions about me, I know he is wonderin

RykerI listened as Deacon talked but the world was spinning around me. I had downed more of that whiskey bottle, and the last one, than he knew. Way more than I was willing to admit to. “Ill drive.” I said, grabbing my keys, knowing inside that I shouldn’t do that. That was the good thing about Deacon. He worked for me, yes, but he also knew how to stand up to me. Not a lot of people did that. He was one of the very few that was permitted to do so. I shook my head when he reached for my keys. “I want her to know that it is me coming for her.” I said in a drunken stupor. I sounded like an idiot. Emotional and irrational. I didn’t know what real love looked like, not loving a woman like this. I believe I have loved before. I thought I loved Ivy at one point. I know I love Deacon, like family. This love was messy, hard, and could destroy me in an instant. It made me open, raw, and vulnerable. Deacon was looking at me differently. I don’t think he was losing respect for me; I think he was

DeaconHe didn’t speak all the way back to the city. He didn’t want to. He decided to leave Iris at Ayden’s clinic, and not give her a chance to say anything. He wants to keep her safe. I disagree with him, horribly, but he will not listen to me. I can't say anything. It isn't my place to do so. He went straight to his house shutting the door behind him. The lights were still off. He hadn’t even turned on a lamp. I knew he was sitting in the dark, drinking his whiskey, and sulking in there all alone. I stood outside the security building and stared towards the house. Part of me wanted to go check on him, but part of me knew better. He wouldn’t even answer the door, I am sure. I stood there, leaning against the brick, watching for any movement. My phone dinged taking my attention away from the front door. I reached in my pocket and pulled it out. Check on her. Make sure she is okay. Let me know. -LorcaneHe hadn’t addressed himself as Lorcane in a long time. He was in a very dark plac

IRIS The lights burned my eyes, bright and surprising as I tried to open my eyes. I closed them multiple times trying to adjust to the lights. I couldn't hear anything but machines running around me. The sound of air blasting somewhere and beeping, so much beeping. My head felt like it was going to explode. I heard mumbling, angry mumbling, in weirdly hushed voices. I tried to speak but felt like something was choking me. I tried to move my arms, but someone was holding them down. Tears started to sting my already burning eyes. I started to breathe harder, and the beeping got louder. I felt a hand on mine, and I slightly turned my head. “Iris, calm down. Please, baby, you have to calm down.” Ryker was talking to me softly, bending over now to look into my eyes. He wiped a tear away from my eyes. I blinked twice, like I had seen on television medical shows, to let him know I couldn't calm down. I needed to know what was going on. I needed to be able to speak. “Iris, you were sho

RYKER I watched as she fell to the floor, the color leaving her face almost instantly. I heard someone scream but it sounded as if it was coming through a tunnel. Echoed, and mumbled. Deacon ran to her as I stood frozen. My side burned some, but I couldn't pay attention to that. What was probably only a few seconds felt like hours while I waited for her to open her eyes. “Iris? Keep your eyes open.” Deacon talked to her calmly. I stood there willing my legs to move. “Ryker, call an ambulance.” He yelled at me; I knew what he was saying but I still couldn't budge. He stood up, walking towards me, the closer he got the blurrier he was. He hit me hard, open handed across the face. “Ryker, snap the fuck out of it! I need your help.” He begged. He was shaken, but still calm. Deacon was great under high pressure. I usually was too. I don't know what has happened to me. This woman has changed my whole being. I walked over, suddenly more conscious, but still panicked. I kneeled down beside I

IRIS Ivy laughed hysterically after hanging up the phone. Why was she enjoying torturing Ryker so much? I know he was always good to her. He searched for her till it made him dark, from what I understand. I get what Theo said about whatever these mob men did to her, but why torture Ryker. It wasn't his fault. "What are you staring at?" She said after the laughter stopped. I shook my head, "nothing." She walked closer to me. "Are you worried about Lorcane, I assure you baby girl, he will get over it." Her words were sharp edged. She was trying to stab me through with them. "I am sure he will." I smiled at her; I wasn't going to let her upset me. She didn't deserve that. "Oh, Ivy, why are you so dramatic?" Theo said laughing at her and walking around my chair. I slowly tried to pull on my restraints, trying not to gain attention. "Where are you, Ivy?" I said not returning her pleasantries. "Temper temper. I can't tell you where I am, that's not how this game is played. I wouldn't worry, our friend Theo is taking great care of your girl. Well, she seems to have become his girl. She likes him an awful lot. Just this morning I came, and he was sleeping right on her lap. She was sleeping comfortably like that. I think they are falling in love." Her words tore through me, but I assume that was her intent. I hadn't slept all night, and my nerves were raw, so I wasn't thinking clearly to begin with. "Where are you, Ivy?" I asked again. "I can't tell you that daddy" She sounded pouty. A window in the distance, but they would catch me before I made it there. Thats if I could even get out of the ties on the chair. Theo seems to be an ally, but I don't know if he is legit. Is he trying to trick me? I tried to relax my arms and pull them backwards out of the ropes. I could fight my way out. I am a pretty good fighter. I have always had to be. I know they have weapons. It couldn't be that easy. My hands wouldn't go through the ropes completely. They were still tight. Obviously, Theo loosened the ropes for comfort.
