Chapter 7

Ryker

I heard the engine turn off outside. I felt my heart speed up. What the hell is wrong with me? I don't get nervous. I watched the candles dance on the table and watched her walk through the door. It was a small restaurant owned by friends. Iris was laughing about something with Deacon, my driver. He isn't paid to laugh. Stop it, you're being irrational I thought walking up to greet them. "Hello Iris," I said walking towards her. I reached for her hand kissing it but letting go quickly. She looked breathtaking, and I could feel my desire for her to grow. I took a deep breath letting it out slowly looking at Deacon's knowing expression. "Thank you, Deacon. Are you hungry I can send you a plate?" I asked him. Deacon had been with me for a while. He was like family to me. He shook his head no adding that he would rather go eat with his family. I told him I would text him when Iris and I were ready to go home. She smiled at him thanking him for the ride before he got back into the car and pulled off. She turned back to me and I pulled her hand slightly to lead her inside. Her curiosity was obvious as she walked into the building. "What do you think of the restaurant?" I asked her wanting to know what was happening in her pretty little mind. She tilted her head at me slightly before telling me it was smaller than she thought I would choose. "Eh, it's one of my favorites. Best Alfredo around." I said pulling out her chair and asking her to sit down. She did as I asked. I ordered a white wine and poured us both a glass. I set the wine in an ice chill, before sitting down across from her. The flames from the candles danced in her eyes as she looked at me. "How were your classes?" I asked honestly wondering how her day was. Eric Skinnle was very impressed with her boldness, he told me she would be quite a choice in a phone call earlier. I shut him up, telling him I couldn't cross that line. He told me she was sure to accept my offer as my assistant. We will see I suppose.

She told me about her day while she ate her alfredo. I smiled watching her eat a meal that wasn't between two slices of bread. She looked up at me smiling, "What?" she said probably wondering why I was staring. "I enjoy watching you eat something that didn't come from a vending machine," I said chuckling under my breath. "Tis the life of the college student, ya know?" she laughed as well. I didn't know. My father paid for everything when I came to college. I didn't have to struggle at all. He was so happy his pressure sent me into the path he had chosen for me, he did everything to keep me there. She started talking about some guy named Stephen allowing her to borrow a camera for her photography club. If I did pursue this desire for her, these college boys, I can see, would be a headache for me. "That was nice of him." She gave me a look of disbelief. I smirked at her. It was like she knew me well already. My jealousy is usually not this strong, but when I saw Adam with his arm on her, I wanted to break it. "How was your meal?" I asked watching her finish her glass of wine. She smiled and told me it was very tasty. A waitress came and grabbed our plates, taking them away swiftly. She smiled at her and asked what they had as desserts. Eric was right. She is bold. She smiled and lifted her wine glass to me. "I am not much of a drinker, but I could use another glass." She said with a nervous laugh. I knew she wasn't 21 yet, but I would ensure she got to her dorm safely. I got up and refilled her glass along with my own.

"Are you going to explain to me what this offer is I am getting?" She said sitting her glass down and looking straight at my eyes. "I already told you Iris. I want to be your mentor. I want to teach you things you won't learn in normal classroom settings. I want you to be my assistant." I realized I was sounding too eager so I stopped, "But you don't have to." She tilted her head at me like she was confused. "You are going to ignore the attraction I know we both have?" she said outright. Maybe no more wine. I smiled at her, "Iris, I am your professor and quite a bit older than you are. I don't think you fully understand what you are asking for sweet innocent girl." She glared at me for a moment, before standing up and moving her chair closer to mine. "I don't really, no. I do know I don't care about the age difference." she smiled at me with stars dancing in her beautiful eyes. I had to look away to keep from diving into them. "What if we do this first," I said setting the mentorship paper down on the table, "and see how it goes as we get to know one another better?" I ran my fingers down her cheek and they got red with my touch. She is so innocent, that I have to let her run off with Adam, Stephen, or some college boy who has the experience level of one of them. It's wrong for me to want this girl, wrong for me to expose her to my life. I kissed her forehead, "Is that a deal?" I asked as she looked down at the paperwork. She didn't speak but signed the paper smiling down at it. "Iris?" I said trying to get a vocal response. She looked up at me and licked her lips and I felt my pants tighten. Why does she affect me so much? I haven't wanted a woman in so long, but this one is going to weaken me. "I understand Mr. Professor." She bit her bottom lip and I crashed mine into her. I used my tongue to explore hers, tasting the sarcasm she just spat at me. She tasted sweet, but spicy and threatening. I couldn't stay away from her if I tried.

I made myself back away from her still, watching her sit there breathless. I imagined her tied to my bed begging me to kiss her again, and I had to push the thoughts out of my mind. This isn't a club, and she isn't a normal sub. I am not even sure she knows what it means to be one. I won't scare her away with it, but it isn't fair to give her some fairytale of someone I am not. I am someone who imagines bending her over this table and spanking her for mouthing off to me, not a prince charming. I am the older man with the mysterious ways, but it may just be a mystery she doesn't want to be solved. She looked up at me with wide eyes and I realized I was dazing off with a mischievous look on my face. "I'm sorry Iris, did you say something?" I asked softly trying to come back to the table, and out of my dominating imagination. "No professor, I didn't. So as an assistant what are my obligations?" She asked professionally showing me she was ready to play the game. I explained to her what her duties would be. Helping me in class while also helping me grade papers in my office after hours. She would be excused from classes on certain days and I would make sure she got the lesson for that day. She would be with me every day for at least an hour during school hours, and a few after. She smiled at me, now with her mischievous look. "I think I can handle that boss." She rolled her eyes, and it sent an electric shock through my body. I held back the urge to react. "Well Miss Iris, seems we have a partnership of sorts now don't we?" I said holding up my glass for a toast. She held up her own with a smirk.

When Deacon and I dropped her off she didn't kiss me this time, trying to match my energy. Deacon didn't say much during the ride back to my house until we pulled up out front. "That one is a firecracker Ryk, She will give you a run for your money." He chuckled. I ran my hand through my hair, "You are not wrong D, but this is going to stay strictly professional." I said lying to him and myself. "Listen, boss, I don't know why you don't want the challenge, but if not, can I take it?" He said smirking at me, he wanted a reaction. He wanted me to show that I was lying before indeed. I laughed out loud. "Let's hold off on that buddy." He looked at me holding up an okay symbol with his hand, and I help up the Fuck you finger as I walked towards my house. "Let yourself enjoy something again boss!" He yelled before driving away. When I entered the house, I felt alone. This isn't strange as I am always alone, but it stung a little more tonight. "Stop crying about it son, Stay in control always." I could hear my father in my head. I shook off the bad feeling went to the shower and stood in the water for a while. I left my life as a ruthless attorney, came back to this school, and away from the bigger cities to control my urges. My darker lustful demons underneath had become much too strong before. The clubs, the subs I went through, the sex and play, it was all overwhelming. I had to get away, before I was exposed as a deviant to the world. The last was suppose to be the last, after she was married off. How has this young woman taken such a hold on me? Before lying in bed I checked my phone.

Hello Professor, Thank you for a wonderful dinner. I will see you tomorrow for my first day as assistant to the one and only Lorcane. Im Ready.

-IRIS

I smiled.
