He raised his head thinking it was her, that it was Melia, but it wasn't so. It was Karina, so he let his head fall back onto the pillow and turned away from her. He felt the mattress sink as Karina sat on the edge and caressed his arm.

"I brought you something for breakfast."

"I'm not hungry," he said without facing her, still turned away.

So Karina took the tray with scrambled eggs and toast, turned around, and now sat on the other edge, looking at him from the front. Elijah traced imaginary circles with his finger on the thin sheet without looking at Karina. She took his chin in her hand, and he looked at her still with his head on the pillow.

"I didn't know you sang."

"I didn't know your daughter was a liar," he retorted, and Karina withdrew her hand from his chin.

"She's not a liar, Elijah. She just wants to fix everything."

"Let her not fix anything, what happened, happened."

"In her mind, that doesn't fit," Elijah said, sitting up in bed. Karina handed him the tray, and he plac

Never in his life had he wished so much not to be the center of attention of the whole world, in this case, of the school. In fact, he had never been before, and now that he was, he found it unbearable. The gaze of everyone in the school as he walked in was openly fixed on him. Some approached and offered their condolences, while others only expressed the same from a distance. He truly wanted nobody to look at him that way, he didn't like it, especially not from those who had made his life a living hell.Fox was on his right side, and Rebekah and Helena were on his left; Helena was chatting animatedly with her friends, Rebekah was on her phone, and Fox... was strutting along with his typical runway walk, captivating most of the girls and guys. Sometimes he wondered what Rebekah thought of this, but Fox had told him that Rebekah trusted him and he had eyes for no one else, and Elijah believed him.Weeks had passed since what happened at the church. Classes had already begun, and it was

"But why are you delivering it?" he asked. "He forgot it, he left it on the table," she replied. "He doesn't have to lower anyone's grade anymore," she sang. The principal took the envelope."Your friend saved you, student Orleans," he said. "You're very lucky, feel fortunate."Elijah heard the principal's voice from a distance. His heart was beating so fast that he could even hear it in his ears. He hadn't seen her in days, and seeing her there as if nothing had happened was affecting him. He couldn't take his eyes off her; she was still as beautiful as ever. He wanted to hug her, to kiss her completely, but it was something he couldn't do.He heard nothing more.Melia, on the other hand, didn't pay attention to anyone else, not even to the pale snow-haired boy - he wanted her to. She only spoke to the principal, and the boys sighed in her presence. (Something that never seems to change, apparently.) Elijah couldn't stop looking at her. "It's so hard to open my eyes and not see you there, next to me. There's so much space by my side, so much space in my heart, in my soul. I can't accept that already..."His singing was interrupted by a grunt from Fox, who was sitting beside him on the couch.Fox looked at him."Can you stop singing such sad stuff?"Elijah looked at him."It hurts to know that we're nothing now. I want to believe that it's all a lie..."And as if he wasn't heard, he continued singing. In fact, the last thing he talked about with Melia had him in a somewhat subdued state. Fox rolled his eyes, but at the same time, he had to admit that Elijah sang perfectly. He had never heard him before; of course, he didn't have anyone to bring out that side of him. He caressed his temple, and just before Elijah decided to lock himself in his room, he pulled him back down. The snow-haired boy looked at him, puzzled."I have an idea," Fox said. "Have you ever thought about singing at the event that's happening in two d

" 'If I see you again, my heart stops again,' " she sang, followed by laughter. The bottle in her right hand fell to the ground, shattering. She pulled out another from her coat and took a sip. "Life hesitates to the rhythm of..." Her singing stopped when she felt a gust of wind behind her. She turned and continued singing, "Oh... Oh... To the rhythm of Skalliet!" She shouted when it was her who was behind her. Skalliet stood there in the dim light with his characteristic icy air and black tuxedo."Hello," he said after a few seconds, approaching her clumsily. "Long time, don't you think?" He laughed. "I missed you.""I know you did," she finally spoke, brushing several strands of hair from Melia's face. Her chestnut eyes were dark. "You've been drinking. Among those foolish things was answering the calls from her mother, who was angry with her. Skallie

It was Monday morning, the hallways of the Institute were empty, and the classrooms were full. Classes were underway when the principal's voice echoed through the speakers, announcing that, at the request of the student Helena Chantai, the ancient dance would be more than just a dance that day. They would take that day to pay tribute to the historical figure who had touched many corners of London, Melia Conkinova. All the students buzzed with excitement at the news. This meant that the day would be more like a birthday than anything else. The principal also announced that the celebration would take place in the middle of the month, so they had to hurry. After giving this information, his voice faded into the background.Inside the physics classroom, Elijah stood up and approached Helena."Why?" he asked. Helena looked at him, not understanding. "Why did you change the theme to a celebration as if it were a birthday?""Because I think it will be more fun, and no one will refuse to part

The third hour had arrived. All the students were on the campus, sitting on the green grass in front of the stage, waiting for everything to begin. They were eager to see their fellow students sing or perhaps make a fool of themselves. The principal had climbed onto the stage, asking for attention and offering words of encouragement to all the participants. He applauded the entire student body as they began calling the contestants.Helena stood on one side of the other students, letting out a sigh when she saw the snow-haired boy ascend the stage. Internally, she was thankful; she thought he might not go up after what Rebekah had told her, which she had intuited from Melia."He changed the theme of his song," Fox's voice made her look to her side."He's not going to sing the one he mentioned?" Helena asked. Rebekah and Fox shook their heads. "It can't be... I handed the director what he would sing.""I fixed it," Fox told her. "Now I don't know what he's going to sing. Honestly, I thi

The award for new talent had been proudly presented to the director. The students continued amidst applause and noise, chanting his name even though he was no longer on the stage. He was still on campus, heading towards his locker. He could feel the frowning and perhaps even disappointing looks from his friends behind him as he walked away. But he didn't look back; he kept going until he couldn't feel the disapproving gazes behind him and was in front of his locker. The hallways were empty; he was alone. The rest were on campus amidst the music and the atmosphere. He opened his locker and placed the small trophy inside. While doing so, he heard some repetitive applause, but the clapping was slower. He closed the locker door and saw who was applauding: Melia. She was approaching slowly, still clapping, until she stopped clapping and let her arms fall to her sides."You turned out worse than Posthadong Dogkor, oh Elijah Orleans," Melia said, letting out a laugh. The headmaster called out for the missing one, Elijah. He stepped forward to the stage amidst applause, and the headmaster handed him his diploma, saying,"The woman who is destined to change the lives of many, to dispel the lies of all, and to prove that the impossible is possible, left behind an essay - one that Elijah, of course, did not write." There was a brief chuckle from the audience. "But it was she, Melia, who gave it to me and told me something I only understood recently... I was moved by what I read in that essay. It touched my heart and made me understand many things, including the importance of devotion to the same love of God..." He sighed. "Orleans." He glanced at someone in the audience briefly, then continued. The dim sunlight peeked through her window, announcing its presence. The cool breeze entered as well, rustling the vibrant green leaves that had regained their color after the winter. The trick her mind played caused such a feeling, that memory that appeared so clear of her, standing there, looking at him, just like that time when she thought someone would discover her true self, setting in motion the change in her life. And she had let her go.It hurt to remember that day, let

Skalliet was on the verge of attacking his brother, but Fox wouldn't allow it. A struggle ensued between them. The screams of others could be heard everywhere. Rebekah was locked in battle with the creatures chasing Skalliet, while Melia still held the frostnive by the wrist, dragging him to the center of the arena before releasing him."Don't do it," her mother's voice cut through the chaos. She stood beside Za, just a few steps away from Melia. "Please.""The decision has already been made," Melia replied without emotion. "Your punishment will be this, Jahjah." The frostnive looked at her in confusion, while despair surrounded them, and the sounds of the ongoing fights echoed in the background. I see your soul, I want to paint it black. No more pure colors, if you choose to take my hand. I can see the beauty in your being, the benevolence in your heart. I can see how little I care about that. The cause and effect of all this is that I want to paint you black. People don't understand, they don't understand you. The world around you is too little for what you truly deserve. Love is scarce, mine is abundant. Life is short, eternity is not. Take my hand, let our eternities merge. I look within me, and my heart is black. I see through you, yours is not. I want to paint it black. I want to paint it black. Join your hand with mine in this dance. Our eternity will unite. The sway of our bodies, our locked gazes, is the little understanding for those around us. I don't care about the fall; I want you with me. Do you want me with you? If so, take my hand. I can't stare at the setting moon. If you join your hand with mine, our love will laugh at us before dawn. I'll

"They love each other so much," Elijah said. "It's visible wherever you look.""With all their hearts," Karina added. "They are meant for each other, they are...""The same soul," Za concluded. The faint glow of the lampposts was just on the edge of the darkened sky. The breeze was cold yet strangely warm. The music was in tune with the celebration, and everywhere you looked, it was elegant, more so than anyone had ever imagined. The vast majority of those who usually settled for the first thing they found in their closets were now more than perfect; they caught everyone's attention, the epitome of beauty in their tailor-made dresses, illuminating the campus even more, which served as the backdrop for the dance. The tuxedos fit each of the guys more than perfectly. Their stances and the way they held their partners were in perfect harmony. Tonight was the dawn of a new day when, for once, the majority behaved themselves. In the hallway, Pelinieve struggled with his tie. " Certain things happened around the vicinity of Rome centuries ago," Rebekah replied. "In that place, she stayed with Skalliet for many years... Consequently, when writers heard stories from there, and the name of a certain Melia Conkinova echoed even more... They decided to base everything that happened in her life, with her family, in that city. " And her father? They say he was the owner and practically the king of that place. " Rome, so to speak, would be the creator's domain," Fox spoke. "Elijah, everything you've read, every distorted aspect of places, names... it all happened in the realm above. Never on Earth. " It can't be..." Elijah murmured almost inaudibly. "Are you telling me that Melia was never a terrestrial being? " That's right." In response to the answer, his mouth hung open in shock. Such a thought had never crossed his mind. He found it more credible that, being a terrestrial being, she simply did something very different to survive for so many years. But never

There was no explanation; no one could provide one, and they all swore by everything. Who could have organized the ancient party in such a short time? Most people wondered, including the entire leadership group. Several days had passed, and they thought that there wasn't enough time to organize the party so quickly. Helena had been tasked with distributing the flyers at the director's request. Unlike the others, she had an approximate idea of who could have organized the party, her own party. The classrooms were filled with students in a brief commotion; there would be no classes today as everyone was at the school to help with various tasks. The purpose of the ancient party, celebrating a fictional character, would come sooner than expected.Tonight, it would begin in the early hours. The director entered the classroom where student Chantai was. He greeted the language teacher and stood before the students."I don't know who to thank for organizing such a perfect party that will take
