Mount Fuji is close to the Pacific coast and about 100 kilometers southwest to Tokyo. With an altitude of more than 3,700 meters, it is one of the largest active volcanoes in the world. The earthquake in the waters of the Nihon Honshu island several years ago has triggered unusual shaking of the dormant volcano Mount Fuji.
