Kyley stared at the wooden ceiling beams that added a rustic feel to the room's aesthetics, while still deep in thought about what had happened earlier.
" Show me your wounds!" Darren's stern face appeared in her mind as he yelled at her over and over again. Her pain had significantly reduced after Darren had attended to her wounds. However, Kyley still didn't know how to feel about it. The fear and anxiety in her heart still remained, and her body would shudder every now and then. Her trauma had kicked in. Kyley felt like a trapped mouse, waiting to be slaughtered. She was wounded and had nowhere to go. She couldn't help but curse her ill-fate. ' Why do I always have to go through this?' Tears threatened to break out of her eyes. Kyley was hurt, in pain, and was mentally exhausted- she's collapsing. She could barely hold on to the last bit of sanity left within her, Kyley believed she would soon lose it. And Darren was probably the last straw. ' Darren...' Kyley didn't know just what he was trying to do. She wasn't certain just what he intends with her. There were so many questions and doubts in Kyley's mind about him. At first, she'd thought that he was a predator like any other man and would finally reveal his true self after learning that she'd tried to escape after seeing through his 'kind-gentlemanly' attempts. Kyley had this thought about him ever since the first time she met him. That was why she'd tried to submit to whatever ill-will he had towards her so as to buy herself a chance to escape. She had thought that Darren was some sort of hunter at first. Buthe denied being one. Remembering his ragged appearance from earlier with the needle holder, Kyley couldn't help but shudder once again. Kyley felt that he must be some sort of psychopath. After all, what normal person lives in the depths of the woods? However, now that she's calmed down and given much thought about it, she started doubting if it really was what it seemed. ' If he truly was like that, why did he wait till it was morning before he made a move. Besides, he treated my wounds ...' Kyley was confused. She could swear that Darren would have at least heard her crash down the staircase the night before, so why did he wait till morning? He should have rushed out the very same night to prevent her from escaping, right? Did he sleep that much that he didn't hear her crash down the stairs? ' Nonetheless...' Kyley looked towards the door, she was sure it wasn't locked from outside, and the windows were wide open; and neither was she tied down. Although she wouldn't try neither of these 'escape routes' due to obvious reasons, it still left her baffled. However, if she was really threatened, Kyley wouldn't mind jumping out the window just to escape. Kyley knew Darren had rushed into the room this morning after having probably seen the blood stains on the floor. And that was enough fo him to realize that she'd left her room, which meant that she tried to escape. Kyley had thought he'd realized this and that it was why Darren had raged with fury earlier and yelled at her. But the way he stormed off after treating her made Kyley feel that wasn't it. ' Could it be that he is...' Knock! Knock! ' Here?' Kyley jumped in fright when she heard the door being knocked amidst her thought. Of course, it could only be him. There was no one else in the house, not to Kyley's knowledge. " C-come in" Kyley informed in staccato. Creak! The door was pushed open right after, and Darren's figure stepped into the room. Kyley felt her heart beat at a faster rate as she grew nervous and anxious at the sight of him, despite the fact that he'd changed into a better clothing and didn't look as he did earlier. Darren smiled wryly at Kyley as he walked in with a wooden bucket that had a mop stick immersed in it. He placed the bucket down gently and walked to sit on the stool by the table in the corner of the room. Darren shot Kyley a glance, opened his mouth to speak but only pursed his lips tight and lowered his head as he clasped his arms around his knees. He was clearly at a loss of word. Kyley silently watched him, her heart thumping right in her throat. Scared that he would lunge at her any moment now, Kyley didn't take her eyes of off him for even a split second. She watched every bit of his move cautiously while slowly sitting up in bed. " Look..." Darren raised his gaze and was about to say something, but he paused seeing Kyley sitting up in bed. " I wouldn't do that if I were you. It's better that you lay down in bed for now... Until your wounds heal at least" he reminded. Kyley, hearing this, ceased and slowly lay back down in bed. " Look Kyley, I'm sorry I treated you like that earlier. You left me no choice back there..." Darren apologized, his gaze fixated on the floor. He pondered his words for a while before continuing. " I had found blood stains on the stairs this morning and I recognized the blood to be yours. I- I thought someone had broke in to harm you so I was worried. Hence, why I was frustrated as to my negligence" Darren shot his gaze up to meet Kyley's as he sincerely narrated how he felt. Kyley's eyes widened in surprise when she heard this. ' Th-that really was it?' She couldn't believe it. Darren's words made her realize something she hadn't thought of before ' More importantly, he was worried for my safety?!' Although Kyley wasn't willing to believe for some reason, Darren's statement actually made sense. It explained why he didn't tie her down nor try to keep her from escaping like any psychotic person would. It's because he cares!" I didn't mean to hurt you or anything, but you were throwing things at me and making it difficult for me to tend to your wounds. So I had to force you to stop throwing a fit. Sorry if I made you feel some sort of way" Darren slowly recounted, choosing his words carefully. Darren didn't want her to think he was calling her crazy. It was obvious that he believed the pain from her wounds was what made Kyley react as aggressively as she did earlier. He understood, and he wanted her to know he really did. Silence reigned over in the room for a long while. Kyley didn't respond to Darren's apology, she just lowered her gaze in thought.' He is genuinely apologizing?' Kyley repeated in her mind, over and over again as though she were trying to remind herself that this was real. Kyley had never been apologized to by anyone. Never! And hearing Darren apologize to her made her feel some kind of way. ' Moreso, he actually cares' Kyley could tell from the sincerity in his tone that Darren mea
'Huh?' Kyley thought she heard him wrong. " Oh! I have an idea. Give me a second" Darren said and turned around to leave the room. However, he grabbed the wooden bucket and mop stick before leaving the room entirely.' Huh?' Kyley was even more confused. She watched his back with a stupendous expression as he walked out the room. Did he really just asked if she wanted to go outside? Kyley was left baffled. Just what was Darren thinking? Soon, Darren returned to the room while Kyley was still deep in her thought. The latter raised her gaze and was shocked to see Darren row in a wheelchair." I've had to use it in the past, plenty of times" He said with a small grin. Kyley gasped in shock hearing this and she instantly expressed hesitation. Just what did he mean by having used the wheelchair plenty of times? It sounded a bit creepy " O-of course, I've used it myself is what I meant" Darren clarified seeing the look of contempt on Kyley's face. He smiled wryly realizing his mistake.
Kyley looked at Darren for the longest while, confused as to what he meant with his words. The evocative expression on his face made her rather curious as to something." Why?" She asked.Darren switched his gaze to Kyley and raised a brow. " Why do I feel this way?" Darren wasn't sure of what Kyley was asking." Why did you move out here in the middle of the woods?" Kyley rephrased her question. It was something that baffled her ever since, and it shaped her image of Darren being undeserving of trust. After all, who in their right mind lived in the depths of the wood all alone? It just didn't make sense no matter how much she tried to look past it." That's a long story. I'll tell you when it's right time to do so. But... Just know it wasn't by my own decision." Darren said with a bitter smile. How could he blurt out that he'd moved all the way out here because he was cursed? He was trying to win her trust here, not scare her. Kyley would definitely jump out of the wheelchair and fle
In the residence of the Moonblood pack, Jason stood by the window with his arms crossed behind him. He looked outside to watch as his betas brought in the Stingfang pack members who'd been held captive by the Moonblood pack. Jason's gaze was resolute and condescendingly stern. Being at the rear end of the town and secluded, whatever was done in the Moonblood pack residence was hidden away from prying eyes. And thus, no one complained as the captives were pushed into a large building that seemed like some sort of warehouse. Although the structure appeared weathered and old, it blended perfectly with the surrounding as many other buildings in the residence weren't too far from being the same. Save for Jason's house which was a bit more modern, most of the other houses gave off a countryside vibe.Being a cold cruel leader, Jason looking down at the growth of his pack with a stoic expression made everyone reverent of their duties. They operated with due diligence. Having no idea as to
Paige who had been hiding by the entrance hall, opened her mouth wide in shock and gasped hearing Ivan's words. ' To think he's really found that bitch!... Talk about being unfortunate' Paige was devastated at the fact that her chance to redeem herself with Jason was gone, just like that." Where are they now?" She heard Jason ask and couldn't help but give up on her thought and focus on listening in on the conversation even more. " The traitor was spotted in Portico city. He is wounded and is now looking to find help and heal. Caleb Last saw him entering some local pub. Yoldes' palm it was called..." Ivan recounted slowly.' To think that fool has gone that far...' Jason creased his gaze and rubbed his chin in thought for a second before asking. " And Kyley?" " ... I found her myself..." Ivan didn't let up the chance to boast of his achievement. After all, it was a rare opportunity that every other pack member had been hoping to grab so as to impress Jason. However, he didn't was
" Do you not wish to come near me?" She heard Jason ask and immediately shook her head." N-no! I mean Yes! I mean..." Paige was confused as to.what to say. It really was happening, Jason was going to claim her as his!Paige swallowed nervously and decided to take a bold step. She walked slowly and nervously towards Jason until she was standing just a few inches away from him. Jason rose in his seat, standing in his full length and towering above Paige. This left her appalled and overwhelmed, so much that she couldn't help but let out a nervous gasp.Jason raised his hands and gently reached to wrap his fingers around Paige's neck. The latter shuddered at the subtle touch and rolled her eyes up feeling the pleasuring sensation wash through her. Paige found herself in a state of ecstasy at that touch alone. Her heart thrummed faster and faster and she felt it would explode at this rate. So long, it's been so long that she'd fantasized about this moment. And now it was finally happeni
What do you mean?" Alphonse frowned. The old man didn't respond for a while and just shook his head. " The city is a dangerous place for our kind these days, and this shelter is the only hope at survival." " I'm not certain if you've come across one of those human hunters. They are everywhere in the city nowadays, and those dastardly kids who let their feral desires rule them are the reason behind human raising a counter against our kind." The old man sighed. " We can only be grateful to kind Samaritans such as the Luna of the pack, who's quite successful and is a philanthropist towards her race. Seeing her kind being persecuted, she made this safe haven for helpless ones like me and you. It's that simple" " ..." Alphonse was left speechless. He couldn't believe Nicole had done this for no reason other than it being out of kindness and compassion towards the werewolf race. It was quite a pitiful life that werewolves lived. Cursed with feral desires and tendency to shape shif
Alphonse caught whiff of a delicious scent that filled his nostrils just as he walked in. Plush, comfortable seating of two luxurious sofas by the side of a glass coffee table, surrounded by elegant soft lighting, stylish artwork, and flower vases. An office desk and chair was in the far corner, adding an official touch to the room. The sight of the room left him in a daze. Alphonse slowly shut the door behind him , observing the room in an uncertain stare. He felt like he shouldn't be in this place and stared to rethink going back now that it was still not too late. " Took you long enough" Alphonse heard an ethereal voice resound around and he couldn't help but turn his head to the source. There, he met sight of Nicole, standing by a mini bar in the side of the room, her back facing towards him. The mini bar was stocked with a selection of drinks, making it ready for a little unwind session after a productive day. The room was a perfect blend of work and pleasure. Alphons
