I stood up and looked at the clock because I did not think that I had slept that long for it to be four o'clock already, but he was correct.

"I see you at the meeting," Joe said and headed to the door.

"We should get going then," I said and stood up, but Hayden pulled me back.

"It's already evening; everywhere will be cold outside. Go grab a jacket or coat."

"Nope, I feel fine; carrying a jacket for a meeting that may just last for a minute is not on the list of things I want to do."

"Why not? The meeting is going to last more than a minute, maybe up to an hour, because I want to instill fear in a lot of people," he said.

I gave him a look. "What are you up to, Hayden? Why do you need to input fear into anyone?"

He shrugged. "For many things."

"Like?" I asked him.

"Like making sure that no one tries to kidnap you again, poison the twins, or even tries to gun you down."
