Alex blinked repeatedly as he stared at Sophie Rust, the little devil who had turned his world upside down. He felt utterly lost, unsure of what to say or do in this kind of situation. It was a first for him.

After a while of being speechless, he managed to muster the words, “How did you know it was the same thing?”

“Do I need to remind you that I have the same thing inside of me?" I asked, and he sighed.

"Ah! No," he replied.

“This is all messed up. What are we going to do about it?” I asked.

“What do you mean, this is messed up? There is nothing messed up about this,” he responded with an uncaring expression, and this just blew my hat away.

”And I called you stupid. You were complaining,” I snapped. “Do you know how dangerous that thing is? I wouldn’t even dare to leave it with any of your men, or even you, because I don’t know who you would give it to.” I added, “Drew told me about the rod that pierced my body; it only had a tiny spark of the psyche drugs, yet it was disastrous

    ***The room remained silent, except for Alex's conversation on the phone. 'So what is causing the dissonance?' I couldn't help but ponder to myself.Then I glanced over to Avanska and noticed there was something strange about his intense focus on... the bucket? That's where the drugs were kept. His gaze seemed unusually fixated.To confirm, I stepped into his line of sight, forcing him to frown and glance up at me. I returned a questioning look, and he responded with a reassuring smile, and I returned it.But Wait! Avanska was smiling, Why?He never smiled, not to me or even the boss. Why is he smiling now? I questioned myself just then the dissonance intensified as I stared in his direction.Then I began to notice something was off. His behavior, like how he stood guard at the door, was unusual. As the second-in-command, he wouldn't typically behave like an ordinary guard. Something was definitely not right.Frowning, I quickly pulled out my phone and texted a message to Rick. He c

'You're such a tease,' I murmured as our lips met.“Guilty as charged,” he chuckled, not stopping his kisses.I half-expected him to just keep kissing, but then he started unbuttoning my shirt, and I grabbed his hand in surprise. “Here?” I asked, a little shocked."Yes, I can't wait," he breathed out, leading me to the long sofa.I collapsed onto it, and he followed suit, swiftly removing my shirt and pants in one smooth motion."Alex!" I gasped out his name as he tenderly ran his fingers between my legs, Seeking, touching, an

    ***I struggled to gather my thoughts, still reeling from the intensity of what had just happened.That was what they called adult sex, and my goodness, what an overwhelming experience, not like any I have ever felt, not like I had much experience in the department."You're like an animal," I blurted out between breaths.Smirking, he replied, "Yes, we both are," as he pulled me close into his arms."No, you are," I insisted, playfully hitting his chest.With a smile, he added, "If you say so," before kissing me once more.We both lay glued in each other's arms, naked and glistening with sweat, enjoying the aftermath of our shared passion.After a while, he got up, I felt a bit dizzy and asked, "Where are you going?" while glancing at him."I'll be right back," he replied."Wait! ***Did I mishear him? I pondered quietly, waiting for his response.Time stretched as I waited for him to speak. Instead, he simply stared at me, making me even more confused. My heart fluttered nervously in my chest.I settled back onto his chest, seeking the warmth of his body. "Let's just forget about that. It was probably just a misunderstanding," I suggested softly, though a part of me wished it were true.After what felt like an eternity, he spoke again. "It wasn't a mistake," Alex confessed quietly.I pushed myself up again, sitting upright and fixing my gaze on him. "Do you even realize what you're saying?" I questioned, my tone filled with disbelief and admonishment. "You can't just blurt out something like that without thinking, Mr. Kova," I scolded, feeling like my heart was about to leap out of my chest.God, what am I supposed to do? The rush of excitement threatened to overwhelm me. What if he didn't mean it? That would be a booma.He rested his head on the makeshift pi

    ***Sighing loudly, I sat down on the large sofa in my room and took a deep breath, staring intently at the phone in my hand.After that mind-blowing night we had two days ago, I begged Alex not to make an official announcement about us yet, at least until after I informed my parents about it. And because he was eager to make me his official partner, he handed me a phone the next day."Call them!" he orderedWhich was weird. “Crazy man, but I love him still!” I murmured to the empty room, sighing. Although I would love to go to him, many things had happened while we were mating like crazy dogs.Rick had come back home with Avanska half dead, and thanks to Drew being around, he was currently receiving treatment. When we came out of the room that night, everyone was trying their best not to make knowing faces. Yep, they were trying not to show that they knew what we had been doing inside the bedroom.Being the shameless bitch that I was, I kept a straight face. There was nothing to be as

    ***As I followed Alex into the room, I couldn't help but notice that Drew somehow managed to slip past me and enter first. What was up with that? I wondered, but the sight that greeted me as I pushed open the tiny door quickly overshadowed my curiosity.The array of equipment spread throughout the room amazed me. Though the door to the room was small, it felt twice the size of Alex’s room.In the center stood a staircase leading down to the lower control room. Men and women of all ages sat at computer terminals, their eyes glued to the screens in front of them. The room buzzed with activity, and I could see several CCTV screens showing different locations.“Wow! This is amazing,” I whispered to myself, feeling a mixture of awe and nervousness. But my excitement faded when I noticed the guards glaring at me with suspicion. Their stern looks made me uneasy, like I didn’t belong there.Turning my attention away from the guards, I spotted Alex and Drew at the lower control room, deep in

    ****As the gunshots continued, I didn’t just end the call, I couldn’t move. My eyes were closed; I could visualize my parents on the ground bleeding to death, crying for help as their enemy stood close to them with bloody guns and knives in their hands ready to end them completely.My heart was hurting. I’ve never felt this much pain before. I suddenly grabbed my chest as an overwhelming emotion took over me. It was so strong; that I felt dizzy.Was it pain, anger, sadness? I do not know, but it felt so strong that my brain froze, panting heavily.Alex, who suddenly saw Sophie's pained expression, took the phone from her.“Hello!” he spoke into the phone.“Sophie, I can’t talk now…” There were multiple gunshots heard in the background,“Mrs Rust, this is Alexander Kova,” he introduced himself and halted,They were in a long pause. “Oh! ***Nobody was saying anything, and that was fine with me. I welcomed the silence with open arms. I held onto my father's hand, our smiles mirroring each other's. The last time I saw him was the morning of the attack that led to this mess. You can imagine just how much I missed him."Sorry to disturb your reunion, but if you don’t mind, I need to check up on him," Drew suddenly announced, breaking the peaceful moment and disturbing our bonding time.I glared at him. I couldn’t believe my parents were here, alive and well. I turned to the men responsible, my voice thick with emotion. "Thank you for saving my parents," I exclaimed, wiping the

Killing this general was taking longer than I’d anticipated, and the first time bomb I’d planted when leaving the underground facility had already started going off.“We need to end this now,” I muttered, just as another bomb exploded in the distance.It felt like the universe was finally throwing me a bone—the general stumbled, losing his balance. I seized the moment, driving my dagger into his lower abdomen, pushing it deeper with all my strength.He groaned in agony and flung me off, but Alex and my mother were already on him, launching another attack from behind.I stood still for a moment, knowing if I waited for him to go down before making my next move, it would be too late.I scanned the area for someone reliable, but everyone was engaged in the battle—except for… Drew and my father.

    ****"Sorry, come again?" Daniel requested, with his eyes throwing a dagger at him.Drew’s face drained of color, his eyes widening with sudden fear as he realized he’d just betrayed himself.He stiffened, turning his head away, and cleared his throat awkwardly. “I’m afraid I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he stammered, attempting to mask his panic.“Isn’t it a bit late for that?” Daniel pressed, his voice cold and unwavering. “The look on your face tells me you know more than you’re letting on. I just watched my daughter writhing in pain, clutching her head. So if you say—”“Wait!” Drew interrupted, his voice rising in alarm. “You found her already?”Daniel’s eyes narrowed as he stepped closer, his anger palpable. “Yes, to be precise, she found us. Now, tell me what’s going on before it’s too late.”Drew swallowed hard, his composure crumbling under the weight of Daniel’s intense gaze. “I… I don’t think you’re ready for the truth,” he said, his voice trembling.Daniel’s gaze

    ~~~~For my plan to succeed, he needed to lower his guard, even a little. My eyes locked onto the grenade launcher in his hands. Damn...Dert… He was the last of the three generals. I didn't know the full extent of his power, but I knew killing him wouldn’t be easy. Still, it was better to face him in combat than to let him toy with my family's lives.I’d rather gamble with my life, I thought, a devilish grin spreading across my face as he loaded his grenade launcher.“Seriously, is that the best you can do?” I questioned him, marching forward, trying to make him lose his guard. Another grenade flew past my shoulder, leaving burns. I groaned in pain. “This’s hardly a fair fight,” I yelled. “Even when I killed the other generals, it was a fair fight.”He ignored me and continued firing. I didn’t give up, continuing to taunt him. “And you call yourself a man—a general at that.” I halted. “What a waste of a title,” I spat out.At my last comment, he suddenly paused and gently pulled back
    ~~~"This isn't happening," I murmured faintly.The grenade was almost upon my mother, and time seemed to slow. Just then, the cause of my current situation decided to do me a favor—MANA.It was as if I was suddenly filled with a kind of supernatural strength unlike anything before. Instead of running, I saw myself flying. In that instant, I threw myself on her, and she fell to the ground with a loud gasp.The grenade barely missed her as it flew past us, leaving a small cut on my shoulder, while pushing me off my mother and landing on some military men, blowing them to pieces.The chaos around me blurred into a grim symphony of screams and explosions, but all I could focus on was the faint rise and fall of my mother’s breath beneath me. My breaths came in ragged gasps, the pain still pu
