1. Prologe: 5 years ago and the Present.

Dawn Lewis and David Empire are sweet and lovey-dovey couple since they were in college. They love each other more than anything. They were so in love to each other every single day. Until one day, Dawn suddenly asking for breaks up. He wanted to end their relationship. David didn’t agree, he asked Dawn what’s his reason but Dawn didn’t give him answered. Then at the end David never agree instead he walked outside their house then go somewhere to cool off his head. But he didn’t know that Dawn planning to leave that night.

Dawn disappears in 5 years. But fate never fails! They meet again in unexpected event. They become coworkers. David become his boss. Dawn become his secretary. What will have happened to their feelings? It is remaining pure or it become nothing. Is their feelings for each other has a change to forget everything in the past or it will turn everything in the past

June 1, XXXX. The night has fallen in the town of G City. Where Dawn’s heart is about breaks and his tears has fallen to his face, living everything behind in the past. Deceiving his own heart was the right punishment for his decisions.

Their room filled with the silent treatment. Dawn facing David while he lying on the bed. Dawn clench his face and prepared himself to the consequences and result of his plan. He knows very well that this will be the end of their relationship. He knows that this the last time that he will see his beloved David but he has to do it. For David’s own sake. He saw David lying on their bed silently, his eyes are closed, his face looks so calm. Once again, Dawn heart keeps breaking.

“David, let’s break-up.” Dawn said, the room filled with silent environment. David shocked to Dawn just said. Did he hear it wrong?

“You what?” David said, he can’t still figure it out if he really said that. David walk towards dawn and hold him in his both shoulder. His face telling that this was a joke. Dawn can see it. David eyes are confusing asking so many question but nothing came out from David mouth. Dawn let go of David hand then let a huge sign.

“What did you say?” David added, he still doesn’t know, if Dawn was joking or not. Dawn looks serious that gives him uncertain feelings that he shouldn’t have. David wants an answer. He stares Dawn eyes but nothing in it. It’s completely blank and dark. He can’t see through his eyes.

“I said let’s break-up, David.” Dawn said, his tears fallen from his eyes. His heart feels so broke like it’s going to burst anytime because of the pain he feeling right now.

“Damn it! Dawn! You wanted to break-up with me? This---is too sudden. Don’t tell me all this year you don’t love me? All this time you faking it” David said, he so angry to Dawn. He can’t understand where everything goes wrong. Why Dawn suddenly asking for break-up. He thought that they will still together until they both succeed and live a happy life like normal lovers do. He thought they love each other enough to continue their relationship for so long. Then this is happening? 

“N-o, I’m not faking it. I-I just—“ Dawn said, he feel more cornered the moment he saw David eyes. He’s in pain! He’s hurting because of me! Damn it!

“Then why? Answer me?! Damn it Dawn! Answer me?!” David shut at Dawn, he can’t control his self anymore. He doesn’t know what’s happening right now.

“I don’t know! David! I just I can’t do this anymore. Can’t you understand that? I can’t do this anymore with you!” Dawn answered, his eyes betrayed him, he can’t stop crying in front of David anymore. David surprised the moment Dawn said the last line of his words. He just smirking and---

“That’s it? Then if that your reason. I won’t give a damn. Unless, you tell me your reason. I might consider it. But, you know that I won’t let you go. Whatever your reason is, Dawn.” David said in cold-tone the he walk-out in their condo. He leaved Dawn alone, he needs time to calm and thinks everyth ing happened.

Dawn fell in the ground. His feet won’t work. His body and heart feels weak. His tears never stop fallen from his eyes. How can he say the reason? He shouldn’t have told him that he wanted a break up. He should leave instead. He can’t do this by battling in David eyes. This went well, I know that you are going to leave the house, David. I’m sorry to take this as opportunity to leave.

But---David didn’t know that Dawn actually planned everything. He did that on purpose because he actually wanted to leave without saying anything to David. He can’t do that! He might change his mind if he leaves David with words. Saying goodbye to David is pointless. He knows that whatever he will going to say, David won’t listen. He knows him very well more than anyone else. He knows that David will walk out in this room every time they had a fight.

“I’m sorry, David. I’m sorry. I love you, I really do damn! I love you very much but---I have to do this for you. For your future. If it’s for you I will do anything. ” Dawn whisper on their picture while he holding it. He’s seating to their bed for the last moment. He faced his bag, everything is already packed and set into a planned.

On the other hand, David came to his friend’s bar. He drinking alone his friend gives him more alcohol even he doesn’t know why he’s doing it right in the middle of the night. This is rare for him to see David drinking like this. He only thinks about Dawn and David had a fight. He knows about Dawn and David for a long time and he know how much their relationship works. They really care each other.

“Dude, are you guy’s had a fight or something?” He asks David, he shake his head as an answered then he drink his alcohol.

“We don’t have a fight. He suddenly asking for break up. I didn’t control myself so I shouted at him. I made him afraid of me.” David said, his friend Lance Whisky surprise he doesn’t know that this was coming. He knows how much Dawn loves David then why this happening?

“You joking right? I know how much Dawn loves you, maybe he was just missing up with you?” Lance trying to comfort David. But, he doesn’t want to believe that Dawn actually asking for break up. Is that even possible for him to let David go?

“He was not joking. He is serious.” David said, he almost crying. He doesn’t know nothing why his Dawn suddenly become like that. He knows himself that he does nothing wrong that against their relationship. He couldn’t understand Dawn anymore.

“David, you want to believe in that? Have ever asked him about his loyalty to you? We know that he is in love with you. He really loves you much. He will do nothing if there is no reason right? If you love him, why don’t you stop him instead. Why are still here?” Lance said, he also doesn’t understand but he trusts Dawn more than anyone else. If it’s for David, he will do anything for him. So he believes that Dawn has a reason for doing this.

“What’s the use anyway? He doesn’t want to see me right now. I know he will not listen to whatever I say. Just leave him alone. I’ll talk to him tomorrow. I wanted to cool my head off first. I can’t face him like this.” David say.

“David, what if Dawn already leave? What will you do?” Lance said, David stopped drinking. He was still sober. He only realized what’s Lance said. He suddenly run out in the bar then take his car. Lance followed him but he was out already. He still worried about David, he still drinks alcohol and not in the right mind right now. While he is in his drive, he can’t stop thinking different things that Dawn might do when he leaves. His heart feels nervous also his body. He can’t calm down. He made his drive fast, until he arrives to their home. He notices that the light still open, and the place feel quite. He can feel it; the house is feels empty. He run inside the house and immediately looked for Dawn at their house but he didn’t see him. 

“Dawn?” David start to feel uneasy when he saw the picture frame of the two of them folded on the table. He can’t calm down when he can’t hear or can’t see Dawn in this house. He looked for him everywhere in their house but he can’t find him anywhere.

“Damn it! Dawn!! Where are you?! Why are you doing this?! To me. To us! Tell me!” He shouted and calling Dawn’s name in several times until he passed out. He wakes up in the morning with hung over but there is no Dawn showing up in front of him. His tears fall from his eyes, his heart breaking into pieces.

“Dawn---he is gone.” He whispers to himself while crying. Many day has passed but David almost like a dead man. He never eats, never drink even a little. His big sister Devine really worried about him. His mom almost lost her breath when she saw David almost ended his life. They can’t find Dawn either.

“Damn it! Find him in instant!” Dawn shouted everyone on their mansion. He’s gone crazy. He can’t do anything. He can’t find Dawn everywhere. Everyone afraid of him.

“Calm down son. We will find him.” His mom said, even she surprised knowing that her son has relation with a guy. She will find him for David, if it’s for David happiness she will.

“I will definitely find him, for you David. So stop throwing everything.” He big sister said. She knows about them since day one. She just helping David hiding their relationship away from their parents. She definitely finds him. She trusts Dawn, she knows that he will not doing this without reason.

Few weeks has been passed, Dawn living like zombie. He doesn’t want to do anything at all. He feels empty every day. Thinking about David’s situation. But he can’t have turned back now. There is no way to regret what he did few days ago. He will not surely see David ever again. He will completely have turned his life without him.

“Come on! You have to be strong Lewis. I feel bad for you so I make adobo for dinner.” His roommate said, Yami Smith. But he just ignored him.

“What? Want me to feed yah?” Yami said, Dawn shake his head. Yami did everything to make him eat. But he gives up.

“I give up! Argg—then die you broken hearted psycho!” Yami shouted at him then walk outside in his room. He cry again when Yami already back to his room. “I’ve miss you. David” He whisper while crying.

EVERYTHING buried in the past. David learned to live without Dawn on his life and continue, he become the heir of the Empire Company and never find Dawn everywhere. For the past years. Only pain, anger and hate written on his heart. He hates Dawn so much for leaving him. He only survived in that darkness of pain while hating dawn.

Dawn learned to live alone without David. Carrying the pain and scars on his heart. From the beginning until now, He use the pain to live and survive, to repent the decision he make multiple times on his living. He wants to forget everything but his mind and heart won’t leave him. But he doesn’t regret all of that. That was for David future and he knows that he will never be part of that again.

Team on hold for time being for the sudden announcement.

Magazine Broadcast Company is one of the most popular company on this industry where Dawn is currently working.  They holding artist magazine, media and report news where they support several entertainments in K City, but this company is about to go bankrupt. So it being sold to the unknown person.  Even Dawn didn’t know anything about that. He wanted to save the company but he can’t do nothing, he is only regular employee. Right now, they are being called by their CEO to set the final message for everyone. 

“I have an announcement. From tomorrow onwards. I’m not your director anymore. You see---this company facing huge problem. I didn’t tell you about this because I don’t want to worry everyone.” Mrs. Catharine, the current director of MBC. Everyone love her so much because she’s so kind and generous to everyone. But this announcement is really shocking to everyone. They all feel sad for their director.

“Don’t worry. You are capable of doing your assign task. Everyone performance is good, so you don’t have to be eliminated. You were going to stay here and serve service to this company. You stay to your position, especially you Dawn and Yami.” Director said, Dawn is her secretary and Yami is assign assistant to Dawn. Dawn feel sad, he can’t serve Mrs. Catharine anymore.

“Thank you for all this time, director. We will miss you.” Dawn said, he about to cry but Yami, his assistant-best friend taps his shoulder to calm him down and not to cry. He just really loves Mrs. Catharine. He just doesn’t want to believe that she will leave today.

“That’s sweet of you Dawn. But of course, I’m going to miss everyone too. Always remember that! Do your works properly, don’t wait for the deadlines?! Alright? Don’t let your new director down. Show him that you are guys are worth it, to be keep.” Mrs. Catharine said. Everyone agree and followed her teaching.

They give all their goodbyes because her time in company has already ended. She finally said goodbye to everyone and leave. For the time being, Dawn is the leader of everyone. Until the next day is not come yet.

“Hey, Dawn did you know about our new CEO? I don’t know anything about him. She always forgots what the best part, she never changes aiisstt---” Yami asked him while they are cleaning the office to change it into new one like Mrs. Catharina’s last order. Yami refers it to their previous CEO every time she announced something, she always forgets the best part of the announcement. 

He is Yami Smith, normal citizen in K City. 23-year-old, living in a normal life. He’s certified assistant-best friend of Dawn Lewis. He’s happy go lucky and cheerful. But, when it comes to his works, he’s paying attention a lot to it. He’s cute and pretty guy. He’s height is so much more like a normal woman. He has white and skinny body. He also gay, Dawn’s partner in crime. They lived in one condo since the day they became friends.

“I don’t know who was it. Actually, She didn’t tell me anything about this either. Just like you said, I don’t know nothing about our new CEO.” Dawn answered, he let a small sigh because he still feels sad that Mrs. Catharina is not here anymore. He will serve new CEO from now on.

He’s Dawn Lewis. 23-year-old, a serious-workaholic-secretary in MBC. Everyone following his lead. He is super strict to schedules and time. He can only rest when they were home. He’s Yami’s best friend and his gay from head to toe. He became so beautiful and pretty. He has white, fluffy, soft and skinny skin. He has the same height as Yami. They both-adorable but monster in work. That’s their rules, btw.

“That’s confusing you know. We all know about the company problem but we don’t know that this will going too far as this. She actually thinking selling her company just like that! I can’t keep it up when it comes to rich people. Tch--” Yami said, he currently arranging the books to the bookshelf. While Dawn is arranging the table for the new CEO according to the instructions.

“We were going to figure out tomorrow. Just stop asking and finish your works.” Dawn said, they quietly working their works until they finally finished. They going back to their office then start working until late of the night. They well always do this. Every single day, they working until midnight. Sometimes they working the whole night then leaved in the morning. 

“Aren’t you tired, sir?” Yami said to Dawn while smiling like an idiot. Of course! It’s time to go home.

“Are you hungry Mr. Smith? You wanted to go back badly when you are hungry.” Dawn said with teasing tone. Yami nod his head several times like a kid. Dawn just laugh because of what he’s seeing.

“Your acting like kid again. Did you forget that you already 23? A fully grown man.” Dawn said, while fixing hing his bag.

“Grown man? Are you kidding me? I’m still pure in my 23 year of living. Don’t compared me to you, losing your precious virginity at the age of 18, sir.” Yami answered, Dawn smirking and just chuckle,

“At least, I experience the so called heaven. My dear Yami.” Dawn said, then winking to Yami. Yami just let out his tongue then fix his things to. Then they finally off in the company.

“Yuck! Did you heard what are you’ve just said right now? You look pervert, Dawn. You know that?” Yami answers him. Dawn just laugh at him. He knows that he not pure like Yami, but he sure that he only sleep with David, only him can touched him. Not everyone else. He silently smiling for no reason, maybe he remembers when they first doing it?

“You are crazy, smiling for no reason. Let’s see if you can smile after when we meet our new boss?” Yami smirking.

“What if our new boss is a pervert old man. Then good luck to you my dear friend. Haha.” Yami teasing Dawn. Dawn just roll his eyes ball on him. As if he will believe to his nonsense.

“Nonsense, let’s go home. You spotting nonsense when you are hungry.” Dawn said while laughing.

“You are so bad to me. You know that?” Yami said, he just shakes his head then pull Yami. They lived together in a small apartment. That fine with two people. The rent is quite low so they decided to take it. They are friends for 3 years now, so they are together.

They know everyone story about their past and respect each other.

The next morning already came. Today is the day that the new CEO in Magazine Broadcast Company will come. Everyone prepared to welcome the new president. Except Dawn and Yami who’s been handling the previous problem in the other entertainment, so they come late and didn’t meet the new president. But, everyone already knew the new the president is good looking.

“Sir, our new president has already arrived. We also told him the current situation you are facing while ago that why you’re late. So, he said you can go to the office of the president with assistant Smith to meet him personally and to discuss some matters about the lacking two years ago. He told me to bring this with you.” Dawn’s coworker said. He nods his head. He lends the folder were full of employee’s name.

“Thank you. Please go back to work.” Dawn said. The woman bow before go get back to her works.

“Yami, let’s go.” Dawn said to Yami. They both walk forward to the office of the director. When they reach the door. Dawn knock the door three times. They feel both nervous at this time because they couldn’t make in time. They are late for the first time! They made a good impression on their first day meeting with the new CEO.

“Come in.” The voice said from inside, Dawn slowly the open the door and the--

“We’re sorry for being late, Mr. Preside----“ Dawn couldn’t finish his words the moment when their eyes meet. His eyes winded and feel dumb. He can’t move his body like he’s been possess. He literally doesn’t know what’s happening.

“D-David?” Dawn said, that’s the only words came out from his mouth. They meet each other gaze that send thousand thunder in Dawn’s body. He is trembling and afraid. He is not completely ready for this situation!

“We’re dead.” Yami whisper into himself while he staring at David seating like yakusza boss on his respective chair. Of course! He knows about David! Yami knows everything! They’re staring each other for almost 2 minutes. The time suddenly stop ticking and the earth stop turning. Yami can feel the tension between the two of them. He should do anything to stop the tension.

David noticed that Dawn change so much. He became more beautiful and stunning. He so hot and sexy wearing his office uniform. While. Dawn thinking same thing. He couldn’t believe that David will change a lot then became like this. He is turned into completely different person.

“Ahm—excuse me.” Yami cleared his throat to bring back the environment. He can even feel the great thunder playing between David and Dawn.

“My name is Yami Smith, personal assistant of secretary, Mr. Lewis. Nice to meet you.” Yami started the conversation. Dawn can’t calm because David keeps staring at him like he wanted to tear him apart. Dawn trying to calm down and acting of his usual self. Yami pinch him on his back to turned him back to his senses.

“I’m Dawn Lewis, your personal secretary from now on. It’s nice to meet you. Welcome to Magazine Broadcast Company.” Dawn said to his usual self. His serious and has cold aura that keeps surrounding in his environment.

“Leave.” David said with cold tone. Their eyes winded. Dawn bow his head then turn his back to David and starting to walk but David stop him. Yami and Dawn gives signal to each other with their eyes.

“Not you.” David said, Yami gulp three times. He knows what will happen! He faced Dawn. He notices that Dawn giving him a signal. Don’t-leave-me-please--. But he can do but nothing. He only feels the knife striking on his back from David’s cold-gaze.

“I’m going outside, sir.” Yami said to Dawn, Dawn eyes winded. Don’t-leave-me-alone—wait! Damn it, Yami. You are dead!

“Then let me excuse myself, Mr. President.” Yami added, he turned his back on them and walk outside the office. Even though he wanted to help Dawn. He can’t do anything.

Empire is the powerful-business-family in G City. They are capable of doing anything, even it’s illegal, they can cope with that using their money, they can turn your life into ashes if they want to. They are so fucking rich and no one can beat them.

Then, David Empire, 25-years-old, a successful businessman and the second son of Mr. & Mrs. Empire, the only son and heir of the Empire family. He has older sister named Devine Empire, as her name, she is also powerful and successful in business world.

The whole office filled with the silent but Dawn still in his composure. He walked towards David table and put down the employee record and act as his secretary.

“That is all the employee records. If you need anything, please tell me about it.” Dawn said in calm tone like this the first time he meets David in his life.

“Anything, you say?” David answered then smirking like he thinks something is not right. He stud-up and walk towards Dawn. Dawn composure are failing the moment he steps his right foot backwards.

“Can I have sex with you then?” David added while grin write on his face. Dawn feel nervous and trying to run away from David but too late. David already catch his left hand and pull him closer on his body. David surrounding his hands around into Dawn waist then make him face him. Dawn heartbeat so fast, he feels suffocating in his heart. He can’t breathe properly.

David start roaming his free hands around his body, smell his neck, lick it and kiss it. Dawn only feel pain not pleasure. He only feels fears not pleasure. Why David doing this to him? They were done 5 years ago!

“D-David---don’t do this.” Dawn said while he pushing David’s away but he couldn’t. He just so strong and like he didn’t heard anything from Dawn. He still continues what’s he’s doing. He about to kiss Dawn but he suddenly stopped when he saw his tears falling from his eye. Fears and pain drawing in Dawn’s eyes.

“Get out.” With his cold-gaze and cold-tone. Dawn can feel it! Its piercing into his heart directly. He silently fixing himself, he even bowed his head to David and walk outside in the office.

When he finally got out, he saw Yami standing outside the office, he’s waiting for him. The way Yami looking at him. He can’t hold his tears anymore. Yami run towards him and hugged Dawn.

“I-I can’t do this anymore, Yami. The pain directly piercing into my heart. What should I do now, Yami—tell me.” Dawn is crying, Yami hugged him ever tighter.

“Shh---let’s talk about it when we get home.” Yami suggested, but Dawn shake his head several time.

“If I continue being here. I might lose my composure. I don’t know—How long I can calm myself in front of David.” Dawn said. Yami wiped his tears with his both hands.

“I know he’s mad at you right the moment you leave him. But he doesn’t know nothing about your pain and your sacrifices. If you quit it right now. Everything will be in vain, you lose Dawn.” Yami said was true. If he gives up now. Everything he did for David all this year will be in vain.

“In fact. We only have one year then our contract will be ended.” Yami added, Dawn feel calm. He stopped crying and pretend that’s there’s nothing happened to him while ago.

Everyone back to their works. Dawn silently working in his office arranging the meeting schedules and conference meeting for all partnership company leaders. He completely closed the environment surround him. Even Yami can’t ask him anything and everyone’s feels that too, so they keep silent. They respect Dawn as their leader after all.

“S-sir Dawn. Please take a rest for a while. You look terrible.” One of their staff said, he just smiled at him.

“Don’t worry I’m fine. I’ll go home early later. Starting from now on, I’m not going to take over time for a while. So do your work at the time. No more deadlines chasing,” Dawn said, they are worried about him but this what they’ve got.

“Yes, sir.” They answered in chorus. But still---Yami is worrying about him. He can draw a picture of what will happened in Dawn, if he can’t hold on to his composure anymore. Dawn almost lost his control inside while ago and give his self to David. But, why he can’t feel anything? He only feels pain inside of his heart. Nothing more nothing less.

He silently working on his table. Thinking about resignation. He pulled himself together then made a resignation letter, he doesn’t want to stay here any longer. He doesn’t care about his sacrifices to go in vein anymore, but when David is here everything will mess up. This will NOT work for him specially when he was still in love with David.

When he is finished his resignation, he sends it to the president email. While on the other hand, David received the resignation letter from Dawn. He just smirking then mark it as a non-valid. Dawn eyes winded, he really ignored it! damn it. He bites his lower lip. But more than that, he notices that David staring at him. He standing in front of his office. He can feel that David is really mad at him right at this moment because of what he did while ago and 5 years ago.

Dawn escape his eyes to David gaze

“I swear. I’m going to get out of here.” He said to himself. Three weeks passed, and David didn’t do anything to dawn, so Dawn barely can do his works properly. Dawn working so hard and keeps avoiding David in the company if possible. David called him only for his reports.

“You have a meeting in 15 minutes. Here’s the documents and the previous documents you wanted to check. I already arranged them and I figure out that there’s someone in your partners sneaking the money of the company.” Dawn said, like he usually does. He’s avoiding eye contact with David. He put the white folder on his table then never talked unless David is asking him.

“If you don’t need anything. I’ll take my leave.” Dawn said then he turned his back and walk outside in the office. As he was returning to his office he met a woman in the hallway, who could almost see her soul because of her dress, it’s too revealing!

“Excuse me. Can you bring me to Mr. Empire? I think I’m lost. By the way, I’m Natasha Silver, David’s girlfriend.” She said in very strange tone. He surprised of what he heard but he still leads the way. She said, girlfriend? He asked to himself.

“This way, Miss.” Dawn said in no emotion tone. He knocked three times before entering. But the Natasha opened the door in hurry. He can’t do anything. They saw David’s back, standing talking someone on his phone. She run towards David and hug him from the back.

“I miss you, darling.” Natasha said in sweet voice. Dawn’s heart feels cold and didn’t feel anything when he’s watching them kissing in front of him. Finally, David faces Natasha, she kissed him immediately, then David answer all of her kisses. He didn’t know that Dawn is inside and watching them kissing.

That moment Dawn knows that he will live as a hell starting from now on.
