AURORA'S POV

I was adjusting the collar of my little boy’s shirt - Liam, the only bestie, the moon goddess grant me after losing his twin to miscarriage, but Liam stay to put a smile on my face, even though his troublesome, but I still love him with everything in me, my fingers moving with careful to adjust his cloth, when a familiar scent hit me. It was faint at first, but it quickly became undeniable.

I looked up instinctively, and just as I’d expected, standing there, just in front of me, was Raymond. My heart stopped for a second, but I forced myself to breathe. Of course it’s him, I thought. Why would it be anyone else?

As I walked a few steps behind Silas, the scent of Raymond only grew stronger. I couldn’t help but think, The moment I stepped foot into this pack, I prayed that maybe Raymond never existed again. That somehow, he would fade away with time, like a bad dream I could forget. But I guess... a prayer like that isn’t meant to be answered.

I had no idea that following Silas back to his pack would bring me face-to-face with the one person I thought I'd left behind. Silas, the man who saved me from an early death, had become more than just a helper - he was a brother, a friend, and more. I owed him for his kindness, especially after losing one of my twins, and his effort till one of them survive - my Liam, of today.

When Silas told me we were going to his pack, I never suspected it would be the same one I'd escaped from years ago.

But here I was, and I wasn't running. Not this time. Silas had pleaded with me to come, having received news about his father's failing health. He didn't want to return to the pack mateless, especially after a decade away. Coming back without a mate would be shameful, and Silas was still healing from the loss of his fated mate. He'd vowed never to love again.

I had agreed to pretend to be his wife until we returned, never realizing that his pack was the very one I'd left behind. Now, I found myself in a complicated situation, caught between loyalty to Silas and the secrets of my past.

Raymond’s gaze was fixed on me, unwavering. The moment our eyes met, I could feel it—the mark on my neck, the one I thought I had buried deep down, stirred and began to itch. I resisted the urge to touch it, to scratch it, but the discomfort was sharp, like it was alive beneath my skin. I tried to pretend nothing was wrong, to ignore it, but it was there, undeniable.

Raymond moved closer, his eyes still locked on mine. He seemed... lost. His gaze was distant, like he was trying to find something in me that I hadn’t even seen in myself in years.

And then, just when I thought I couldn’t be more stunned, Raymond closed the gap between us. He reached out, pulling me into a tight hug.

For a split second, I stood there, frozen. Is he stupid? I thought, almost in disbelief. After everything, he thinks a hug will fix this?

I couldn’t stand it any longer. I pushed Raymond away with more force than I expected, and he stumbled back, nearly losing his balance. My heart pounded in my chest, and for a moment, I thought he might fall.

But before he could regain himself, Liam, stepped forward. With a determined cute look on his face, he raised his tiny hand and smacked Raymond across the leg. “Why did you touch my mom like that?” Liam’s voice was filled with a child’s innocence, but the words hit harder than I thought possible.

Raymond blinked, completely caught off guard. He stared down at Liam, his brows furrowing as he processed the words. “Your mom?” he asked, confusion written all over his face.

Liam nodded proudly, his little chest puffed out. “Yep! My mom.”

Before Raymond could respond, a silas voice broke through the tension.

“Raymond,” Silas said, his tone laced with amusement. “You didn’t greet me, your brother, and you just went on to hug someone who came alongside me?”

I saw Raymond visibly stiffen at the sound of Silas’ voice, but he quickly composed himself, pulling back his emotions. He bowed his head toward Silas in a gesture of respect, though his eyes never left me. “I’m sorry, brother. It’s just that… the……ehn….,” he said, his voice low

Before he could even begin to answer, a soft groan broke the moment. It came from the direction of the room properly where their father lay, and it snapped us all back into reality.

Without a second thought, Silas, Raymond, lucas and I rushed toward the door.

***

As we entered the room, I saw their father struggling to sit up. Silas and Raymond moved quickly to his side, helping him into a seated position. The elder man stretched his hand toward Silas, grabbing it firmly, and a warm smile spread across his face—even in his sickly state

I stood back, watching the scene unfold. Raymond’s eyes were still glued to me, but I acted as if I didn’t notice, keeping my focus on Liam, who had clung to my side. My thoughts mixed. Since I’d known Raymond, I never once imagined he had a brother like Silas. But then again, Silas had mentioned leaving the pack ten years ago, so it made sense. That’s probably why Raymond never spoke about him.

Their father’s voice broke my thoughts. His gaze shifted to Liam, who peeked out from behind me. “Is this my grandchild?” he asked, his voice laced with a surprising joy.

My heart sank. I wanted to shield Liam from this messy reunion, but how could I deny him this moment with his grandfather? Even if Raymond could never claim him, and Silas will appear as his father , but this man was still his blood.

Before I could say anything, Raymond’s voice cut through. “No,” he said abruptly, his tone flat. “I don’t think so.”

Wow, Raymond is going crazy, why will he jump on answering….

Silas turned to Raymond, his expression hardening. “Are you joking?” he asked, his voice low but sharp

I took a step closer to Silas, holding his hand like a couple. I gazed into his eyes and said, "It's because you haven't properly introduced me... and our child."

Silas smiled back, and I returned the smile.

I moved closer to the Alpha bed, my voice filled with curiosity. "Father, How is your health? , he nodded with a smile

“You should get well soon, so you can know us properly “ I said , dragging Liam closer. "Liam, meet Grandpa."

Liam looked up at me and said, "Grandpa?" I nodded briefly.

Before anyone could say a word again, the door opened again,. I turned around, and my heart skipped a beat. The person who had always been on my mind, but seemed to have slipped my memory, walked in - Lilian.
