AUSTIN. (picking up from the chapter before Marcia’s POV). “I’m your female, Austin. I’m your wife. I will stand by you. And if anyone tries to bring up the past to ruin you in my eyes, I will fight them for you. I got you.” Lexi said those words, her eyes looking deep into my mind, engraving my soul with how much she loved me. No one could be more perfect than the female before me. Everything she said was more than enough to calm my heart. I pulled her closer and crashed my mouth into hers, kissing her bruisingly hard. A soft moan escaped her lips as her arms and legs wrapped around my neck and hips. Our hands gripped each other’s hair as our mouths fought for dominance. “You’re mine, Lexi!” I growled the moment I parted her lips to allow her to breathe. My hands went to her ass as I scooped her up from the railing and moved us back into our bedroom. I shut the sliding door before I dropped our bodies on our bed. Lexi’s hands went to my chest before she pushed me. My back
LEXI. The first three days of the Gamma Camp went without any problems. Twelve Packs participated, as it was the limit per camp. But we did have a large number of delegates, according to Austin, compared to the camps he attended. We had future Gammas as young as fifteen up to the eldest, who was twenty-two years old, as well as warriors ranging from seventeen to nineteen. And so far, everyone is behaving well. Even the infamous Aurora. I finally met her. Although she didn’t say a word to me, as we technically didn’t meet face-to-face as we only welcomed the Gammas personally on behalf of their delegates, I still saw her eyeing me up and down. I didn’t like the way she was looking at me, but so far, she hasn’t made any moves against me or spread anything about Austin. She probably knew Austin would not take any bullshit from her. But unfortunately, it was not the case for Giselle. We heard rumors that words were thrown during bedtime, but so far, none of the females have cros
FUTURE GAMMA GISELLE. I raised my hands up in the air as I stretched further, following the lead of one of the delegates for the morning exercise, while my head was already formulating ways on how to spread out my team into the forest for the next activity. Yes, call me competitive, but in a world dominated by men, having a female Gamma was almost unheard of. I knew this was one of the reasons Alpha Ledger was hesitating to finally name me as his chosen Gamma. Having a female in this position might lead others to see the pack’s security as weak. But my father, Gideon, the current Gamma of the Midnight Pack, already knew this would be a challenge for me, so he trained me early on. After giving birth, doctors advised my mother that she was no longer capable of bearing pups, so my parents were fully aware that it would only be me who would carry the family flag. And I had been working my ass off ever since I understood the responsibility I was about to take. Growing up, Alpha Ledge
FUTURE GAMMA FEMALE GISELLE. ‘Are you and Marlon dating?’ Alpha Ledger asked, and I was sure there was a low growl with it. I was about to answer him when I bumped into Auri, who deliberately bumped her shoulder against mine as she passed by. I could have pushed her, but I didn’t want this camp to have even a small reason to send me back home, so I just ignored her. “Hi, Ledger!” She greeted him so chirpily that my eyes rolled, and I decided not to reply to Alpha’s question. I wanted to look back and see what they were doing, but I restrained myself. I had seen many females, even in our pack, throw themselves at the Alpha. I was so used to not looking at him and pretending in my head that he would just smile at them and throw them off the cliff after. “Are you okay?” Marlon asked. “What’s with the hand on my back?” I asked, chuckling softly. He chuckled. “I was just making the Alpha a bit jealous so he could make his move.” “Stop filling my head with the thought that Ledger
(YOUNG) ALPHA LEDGER. “I want her to be my Luna! Not my fucking Gamma!” There, I said. All these years, I’d been telling everyone I wanted to wait for my mate, but it was Giselle that I’d been waiting for. “Why didn’t you tell her?” “She’s not my mate. Pursue her and make her mine only for our mates to show up and take her away from me?” “Ledger…” “You lived that life, Dad. And I know you are happy and grateful that you had broken it off with Aunt Alba before Mom came, but what if one of us never met their mates? One of us would not end up happy.” “Does she like you?” “I don’t know. She never seems to show any signs that she likes me, but she never dated anyone either.” “Then pursue her. My fate doesn’t mean it will mirror yours or Jillian’s.” “In case she doesn’t like me as his male, pursue her and make her fall for me? And then what? My mate will come around, and I will break her heart?” “Some of my family never met their mates, and they were happy with their chosen. Same
MARCIA. “Are you ready?” Lexi asked me, and I nodded in response. “Do you want me to come with you?” She asked more. I shook my head and smiled at her. “I can do this. And he’s behind bars, so he can’t really do anything to me.” “I’m sure he won’t harm you.” Lexi reached for my hand and squeezed it. “Good luck, Marcia.” “I know we’d talk about this, but I just want to say it again. I don’t think I can accept him because of what he did to you.” “I appreciate that you were thinking of me, but, like I said, I think everyone deserves a second chance. My playboy Gamma was given a second chance. Why not Randall?” “He almost killed you.” “But he didn’t,” Lexi answered back almost immediately. “He could have. He was asked to do those things, but he didn’t go for it. I let him into my life because I felt he had a good soul. Maybe I’m not a good judge of character because I always end up being hurt, but no one really knew the real Randall except him. I want to believe there was a reason
FUTURE GAMMA FEMALE GISELLE I clutched the red flag in my hand tightly as I scoured the quadrangle. We were dismissed for lunch, but it seemed no one wanted to move to the mess hall or go somewhere else as the delegates were still there, huddling and discussing things while I kept looking around, trying to spot my Alpha. I hope he didn’t forget that he promised lunch to me as well. My shoulders slumped when I couldn’t find Auri. Did they leave together? Did the Alpha remember that he was on a lunch date with her and decided to dump me because, of course, I was just one of his warriors and nothing important? Why did I even take the time to wait for everyone to leave the clearing before grabbing this red flag where we raised it? I wanted to show Alpha Ledger that my team won, as I said I would, through this flag. But maybe I missed him, and he went ahead to lunch with Auri. “Lunch?” Emman asked, motioning with his thumb toward the building as he stepped back. He was the future G
YOUNG ALPHA LEDGER.“Exclusively,” I added. I was glad I didn’t forget that part. Dad told me to lay everything out in the open, and if I was okay with taking it one step at a time, then I had to win her trust first. But I didn’t want any males around her, especially since this camp was overloaded with males. I knew I could not change her mind to leave this camp because Giselle was simply not like that. She always finished what she started, so there was no way I saw her quitting this camp before it was over. I just had to live with missing her for a month. But what the heck? Ten hours was not too far to visit her. I looked at her, looking back at me, but she was not saying anything. I must admit, I was terrified of her response. I had always been a confident man. I guess it runs in the blood, as does the fact that I grew up around cocky and arrogant Alpha heirs. I knew my worth and what I was capable of, but around her, I was always unsure. The only time I got this bad — terrifi
