Beca's p.o.v

"The reason that I care so much about her is because she is human and alone. Her parents abandoned her outside our pack's border when she was just a little girl. I had to pay a couple in our pack to raise her as their own since I had no strength to leave her out in the cold and in the dark. She grew up in my eyes and I took care of her as an elder brother would."

I sobbed loudly and clenched Cobi's shirt in my hands as the words played over and over in my head.

It was painful hearing his words. They were making my heart ache badly.

There was no time or day that Ken had ever lied to me. I knew his words were the truth and that's what hurt me the most.

I wasn't a werewolf nor anything special. I was a weak, fragile human being.
