Chapter 87

NO ONE greeted him from his household as they arrived at the golden gate. It wasn’t a surprise. He already expected it to happen. He was sure he didn’t have a house anymore. His brother might have demolished it to ashes. But there was an official waiting for him who wore a golden cloak. A line of guards in golden armor stood behind this god.

The official showed a smile on his face, spreading his hands.

“Welcome back, even though you took a thousand years to do it,” the official exclaimed. “You change a lot. You look more human now.”

“What are you talking about? Don’t sprout that nonsense on me when you’re the reason they sent me to the mortal realm,” Xurden said with anger in his voice. His servants were waiting on his back.

“If I hadn’t done that, you would be dead by now.”

“You have a point. I will not argue with you.”

The official’s smile became wider. “But your attitude hasn’t changed a little. I thought you would learn something from humans. I guess I was wrong.”
