Chapter 101

Mel’s POV

I can't stop thinking about how strange Jaxon has been acting the past five days. I haven't seen him much, he's either in his office or disappearing with Ameer. He hasn't even been home at night, but he usually wakes me up with morning sex. Today's different though, I haven't seen him since yesterday afternoon.

Unfortunately, I've been too busy with training the recruits to investigate. I'm starting to have a strong feeling it has something to do with my father, though. It's the only thing that makes sense and explains why he has been so tense. Ever since that night when he told me about the abuse, there's a shadow of fear that appears on his face only when my father is mentioned. I also can't pretend not to notice all of the extra security outside when he isn't around. I plan to head to the hospital as soon as training is over so I can confirm my suspicions.
