Chapter 3: Emergency

{LOVELYN'S POV}

At exactly 7:30pm, mum and I took the goods outside the shop inside the Shope, then locked the doors.

We started trekking home, and when we got home fifteen minutes later, my younger brother, Peter had already prepared dinner.

Don't be surprised, my younger brother was really good at cooking. His favourite hobby was cooking and his foods were always delicious.

"Welcome mum. Welcome big sis." Peter greeted as he set the dishes on the dining table.

"Smells delicious." I inhaled the delicious aroma of the food as we sat around the dining table.

"Hmmm..." I moaned as I took a bite of the food. "This is a masterpiece, Peter."

"Thanks." He smiled and we continued eating.

After eating dinner, Peter and I cleared up the plates to the kitchen and we washed them, then we retired to bed.

{LYDIA'S POV}

After eating dinner with my children, I went to my bedroom.

"Argh!!!" I winced when I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I quickly walked to my wardrobe and I took a small sized bottle. I opened the bottle and poured some white pills on my hand, then I swallowed the pills immediately.

I sighed out softly when the pain started subsiding, then I returned the bottle inside the wardrobe before walking to the bed.

I developed an heart problem sixteen years ago when my greedy husband left me and my children and he ran faraway to marry his rich mistress.

I didn't tell Lovelyn nor Peter about my heart problem because it'd only make the both of them worried, and that last thing I wanted was making my children worry about me.

The pills I just took was the only thing that had been sustaining my weak heart. I would have gone for an heart surgery, but the surgery fee was just too much and even if I worked for one hundred years, I'd never get such enormous amount of money.

The doctors told me that my heart was getting weaker every passing minute, and it wouldn't be long before it stops functioning.

That made me really worried, and I was in deep thought till I fell asleep.

{MICHAEL'S POV}

I was sitting upright in my bed as the goddamn alarm continued ringing loudly. I angrily grabbed it and smashed it on the ground before climbing out of the king-size bed.

I walked to my dressing mirror and a frown formed on my face when I stared at my reflection.

I was looking horrible.

My hair was scattered and my eyes were red. The reason is because I could not get a good sleep last night. Maya was playing a loud music in her bedroom throughout the night, and her bedroom was the next to mine.

I was really angry and I swore to fire Steven, my personal guard, for not taking Amaya to a psychiatric hospital last night.

I undressed myself and I drowsily walked inside the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and stepped under the shower to have my bath.

I stepped out of the bathroom minutes later and I wiped my body with a towel before applying a lotion on my body.

I went over to the closet and opened the door. There we lots of expensive suit, and I picked an expensively tailored white suit on a hanger.

I threw the clothes on and I also wore a pair of expensive black shoes I picked from the shoe stacks.

I walked over to my dressing table and combed my black curly hair. Looking myself before the mirror, I couldn't help but to smile.

I was just so handsome like a Greek god.

I wore a gold Omega wristwatch on my wrist and three gold rings on my fingers. On my index finger, I wore a big Ruby ring which was damn expensive.

Grabbing my phone and my bulky wallet on the reading table, I found my way out of the room, descended the stairway to the dining room.

The maids had already served the dishes.

"Good morning, sir" The maids greeted with their heads bowed. I simply nodded and sat down l, then I started eating.

Maya sang happily as walked inside the living room. She was wearing a white turtle neck and a her blue ripped out jeans with a pair of white sneakers.

"I'll make that witch pay for ruining my night." I muttered as I continued eating.

"Good morning my sweet brother." She ruffled my hair and she sat opposite me.

I glared at her, but she rolled her eyes at me and started eating.

If looks could kill, then she would be six feet below the ground with the way I was glaring at her.

James also walked into the dining room with his right hand buried in his pocket while pressing his phone with his other hand.

"Good morning, Michael." He greeted and sat down beside Maya.

"Good morning, Maya." He greeted Maya, then he started eating.

Minutes after eating, I was out of the house, heading towards the Rolls Royce Silver wraith waiting for me. Steven stood by the door to usher me in.

The guards bowed as I walked towards the vehicle.

"Good morning, boss." Steven bowed.

"Why didn't you take my younger sister to a psychiatric hospital like I instructed her?" I asked, I ignoring his greeting.

"Sir, I took her to the nearest psychiatric hospital, but she did something crazy and psychotic at the hospital, and I had no other choice than to bring back home." He replied.

"What did she do?" I asked, curiously.

"Sir, she tied up a one of the doctors at the psychiatric hospital and she threatened to inject the doctor with an unknown substance." He replied.

"God, why did you give me a crazy sister?" I muttered, staring at the blue sky.

I sighed before sitting in the lush seats of the Rolls Royce and Steven got behind the wheels, then we drove out of the compound which was surrounded with guards.

About thirty minutes later, we got to my company. Steven parked in the lot and he hurriedly driver came down from the vehicle to open the door for me.

I adjusted my suit and my eyes went wide with shock when I saw a Ferrari car speeding towards me.

"Fuck!!" I jumped back in fright, and landed on my butt.

"Are you alright sir?" Steven rushed to me and helped me up.

The Ferrari swerved right and parked in the lot. The doors opened and both James and Maya stepped out of the car, laughing mockingly at me.

"Such a scared baby." Maya mocked.

"Dude, you should have seen the look on your face." James said amidst laughter.

I glared daggers at the both of them before proceeding inside the company while Steven followed me from behind.

"I hope those two fools don't gonna give me an heart attack one day." I mumbled as I heading to the elevator.

{MADAM LYDIA'S GROCERY STORE}

{LOVELYN'S POV}

"Thanks for coming." I said as I gave a customer her change, then she left. Just then, a guy came.

"Good morning" I greeted with a smile, but he said nothing in response. He was just staring at me with an irritated look on his face.

I knew he was irritated by the pimples on my face, but I didn't give a fuck about that.

"What do you want to buy?" I asked in a mean voice.

"A kilo of carrot and two kilos of cabbage." He replied, and I rolled my eyes at him before giving him what he wanted.

He paid and walked away.

I turned around and walked to the inner part of the shop where mum was. I got inside and I saw her laying in unconscious on the floor.

"mum!!!!" I screamed in fright, and I immediately rushed to pick up phone, then I dialled the emergency line.

Luckily, someone picked up immediately.

"Hello? there is an emergency at shop 59, evergreen street. Please hurry up!!!" I said with shaky breathes and disconnected the call.

I rushed back to mum and knelt beside her

"Mon, please wake up." I said as tears welled up in my eyes.

I was so scared. My body was already shaking.

Minutes later, the ambulance arrived and mum was laid on stretcher. She was placed inside the ambulance and I also sat beside her.

"God, please don't let my mum die." I prayed silently as the ambulance drove off.
