Eighty-two

Andreas and the sheriff stood by the abandoned vehicle, their eyes fixed on the ground where the blood had been found. The tension in the air was palpable, both men were lost in their own thoughts.

"I don't know what to make of this," the sheriff said, running a hand through his hair. "We need to wait for the lab results to come back. It could be anyone's blood."

Andreas nodded, his mind racing. He couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible had happened to Rebecca. His heart ached with worry and fear.

Carla's sobs broke the silence, and Andreas turned to see her crumpled on the ground, her husband and son trying to comfort her.

"We need to find her," Andreas said, his voice breaking with emotion. "We can't just wait for the police to do their job. We have to keep looking."

The sheriff nodded, his expression grim. "I know. We'll keep searching. But for now, we have to let the professionals handle it."
