Sooo....did anyone see that coming? :-) Thank you for the gems! Comments are most welcomed, too!
Mitzie’s eyes grew to the size of saucers as she listened to Emma’s words. “My father was the grand sorcerer, or king if you would, of Parmony. In his attempt to use his magic to force the goddess Aliyah to appear ahead of schedule, he decimated half of the Parmonian galaxy – himself and our mother included. The other kings saw the galaxy’s stars ablaze, but none ventured to see what was going on, except King Samael. When the warriors arrived, under the leadership of Orthos’ father, they found us four siblings clinging to life on one of the planets that had not been destroyed. Luceron and Claris were reluctant to leave Parmony, but since Milvan was the oldest and in direct line of throne ascension, they could not disobey his orders.” Emma began pacing as she continued relaying the story. “I was the youngest sibling, and without parents, I was more than glad to follow my big brother anywhere. He and I were grateful to King Samael for his willingness to send saviors for us. We pled
“With all due respect, Commandant, I don’t know how you ever did it,” Stanley said in a hushed voice opening his eyes to look at Alford. “That was many centuries ago, Elshazar,” Alford responded turning his head to where he could see Stanley. “I was young and stupid. On the goddess, though, I don’t know how I did it either,” he chuckled making a mock gagging noise. Both men chuckled at the conversation as they lay on the cold, hard concrete. “I can’t seem to reach Preticus through the link, can you contact Malshavez?” he asked attempting to slide his body around to fully face Stanley. “No, I was trying to reach her, and it’s like an impenetrable mind block that won’t let me connect,” he replied trying to roll on his other side. “There must be a spell on the building that’s prohibiting our connection,” Alford groaned as he pushed himself against the wall. “I heard Luceron tell Claris that Japheth has entered the Milky Way. We need to figure out how to get out of here.” Alford stra
“So, what should we do with them?” Spandau asked as he twiddled a rubber band with his fingers while sitting at the table that was in the middle of the warehouse open floor. “We’ll let Japheth decide when he gets here. I have no use for any of them…except for maybe Orthos. If he gives in and decides to be with me, I may just keep him around. After all, he’s handy in some ways besides just being a warrior,” Claris wiggled her eyebrows with a smirk on her face. “I did not need to know that,” Spandau grimaced rubbing his hand over his face. “The women are still knocked out,” Marva announced walking towards them from the office space of the warehouse where the three female warriors were being held. “Do you think we should wake them up before he gets here?” “No, let them stay as they are. Orthos and Elshazar are awake. They’re in there,” she nodded her head towards the room she’d left them in, “savoring the show I gave them…” “Oh, that’s just too much! I really don’t wanna hear that!”
Mitzie stayed rooted to her spot as she turned her head, feigning interest in the scenery. It was quiet, with the exception of rodents and ground creatures scurrying about in the dirt and little grass patches that were spread out amongst the terrain. “Hm,” was all she could think to say while she maintained a hold on her bump. “I know that’s not news you’d want to hear, but knowing my sister, she will for sure try to distract you and throw that information your way. At least you’ll be prepared,” Emma shrugged. “Prepared, I would never be to hear something like that. When was this?” Mitzie questioned with arched brows now looking at Emma. Marilee continued studying the ground as if she were uncomfortable being privy to this conversation. “Oh, it was several hundred years ago, your grace. Back when the General and the Commandant rescued us. It was short lived, however. Claris’ will was stronger than her feelings for the Commandant. She’d told him of her plans to retry father’s faile
“Can you feel this loop?” Alford strained his neck trying to look over his shoulder as he and Stanley lay back-to-back, fingers loosely fiddling with the knots on each other’s ropes. “I’m trying to get a grip on it, but the way they’ve got this tied, my fingers are getting more and more numb the more I move them,” Stanley replied, cursing under his breath as he turned his head towards the cement and squeezed his eyes closed in concentration. ~~~~ Sheloah’s head bobbed as she started to regain consciousness. She was slouched on the cement perched against the wall, her legs restrained and bent in front of her, and she could feel the crick in her neck as she tried to adjust her head to a right position. Suddenly, she jolted, and her eyes shot open twisting eagerly from side-to-side trying to take in her surroundings. She slowly shifted her head to observe Zara and Maria who were awkwardly laying on the opposite side of the room in a comatose state. She desperately struggled against t
“There it is,” Emma pointed to the large metal building that stood far enough away for them to stay off of Claris’ radar, but close enough to see with the naked eye. “It’s dark out here, but I don’t see any lights coming from inside,” Mitzie whispered chewing her bottom lip while squinting to observe the place. “The spell that Claris possibly used would conceal any indications of activity. She’d have restricted all methods of communication internally, and the building would appear to be desolate,” Emma responded. “I can get closer to scout the area?” Marilee said in an asking way while looking between the two other women. “Yes, that would be perfect,” Mitzie smiled at her. “Don’t let Sheera attempt a take down. We don’t know what we’re up against, so just scent around, and report back,” Emma instructed as she looked at Marilee. Marilee quickly removed the dress she was wearing, closed her eyes and rolled her neck before leaping forward with Sheera padding down on four paws. The w
“Malshavez? Can you hear me?” Zara was lightly tapping Maria’s cheeks. “Malshavez, we need you to wake up,” Sheloah piped in walking back towards the two. Maria let out a low groan before her eyes jerked opened with panic. “What… where…” she began to ask, confusion thick in her voice. Zara had removed Maria’s bindings, so she was able to sit up freely. “Claris ‘nem dropped a gas bomb on us in the mall meeting hall. No clue where we are. We’ve been trying to figure that out.” Zara said moving from being perched on her knees to sitting on the floor next to Maria. “Where are the Commandant and Elshazar?” Maria inquired looking around the room. “No idea on that, either. I’ve tried mind-linking them, but seems there’s a spell that won’t let me through,” Sheloah answered. Maria rubbed the back of her neck while closing her eyes. “This is bullshit. Can we get out of here?” she asked opening her eyes looking between Zara and Sheloah. “The door is unlocked, but we wanted to wait for you
“I haven’t heard from my sister all day,” Nolan, Alpha of the Mountain Shadows pack – largest and richest werewolf pack in the central and Western regions of the United States – growled as he paced back and forth in his office with his hands on his hips. “It’s not like Marilee to not communicate with you every day. Surely she’s not injured or worse, as you’d have felt it through the pack link,” his Beta and best friend, Bryce assured from the chair he was sitting in across from Nolan’s desk while his eyes followed the wandering Alpha. “I wouldn’t necessarily feel it if she were injured. You know she’s half witch with healing powers, so she could be blocking the pain where I can’t feel it until she heals herself,” the Alpha growled in response stopping at the drink cart in the corner of the room to pour himself some whiskey. He swallowed the two fingers of the deep caramel liquid that he poured in one gulp, slamming the empty crystal glass down on the tray when he finished. “Is she
Hello, my faithfuls! Ok, I know you all are probably thinking that I've abandoned the book. I have not. Some issues with my chapters had to be fixed, and you all will need to delete the book out of your library and reload it for the changes to take effect. If you're this far in the book, you'll begin at chapter 35 (you're able to refresh your read in chapter 34), and proceed from there. Sorry about the mixup and the time you all had to be away from Mitzie and Alford...they missed you all, too! ;) As always, thank you for reading, and the gems are much appreciated!

Hello, my faithful readers! I find myself apologizing again for the delay in chapter updates, however, this time it's due to an error in chapters posting. My editor is working as quickly as possible to get the issue rectified so that I can begin updating again. The wait will be worth it....and the sequel is alreay being written. Wanna guess who it's about? I'll give you a hint: some new characters and some old characters will be involved and play a major role. I'm excited for their adventure to roll out ;-) Thank you for keeping up with Mitzie & Alford/Orthos' adventure!
“Mom?” Mitzie balanced the cell phone between her shoulder and her ear as she used a spoon to scoop some ice cream and the chocolate cake that she was finally able to get her hands on into her mouth. It was every bit as good as she had expected. She licked some of the chocolate-brandy sauce off of the corner of her mouth. “No, Angel, this is dad. Are you all alright?” She could hear the concern in her father’s voice, and she felt bad that she had brought that reaction out of him so many times in her life. They were yet staying at Mitzie’s house for the time being as Emma had cast a protection spell around it, therefore making it the safest place for them. Even though they knew Japheth had left earth, they were still being cautious of any outliers, and with this new threat, it made even more sense. “We’re fine, daddy. Have you all heard from Emma yet?” “No, we haven’t. Your mother has left a note on Emma’s bedroom mirror and at all main house entry doors for her to call you as soo
“My love, let’s go,” Alford took a step closer to Mitzie and placed a hand on the small of her back. Mitzie turned as if to leave, but then turned back around to face Claris again. “I hope what I’ve said to you will sink in through that cap. You can save yourself if you do,” she softly said to Claris while rubbing her stomach. Claris looked back up at Mitzie with an unreadable expression on her face. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it and put her head back down. Mitzie waited for a moment to see if Claris would change her mind and say something, but after a few moments of silence, Alford gently nudged Mitzie to leave. She sighed and walked ahead of him as they went back up the stairs leading them out. Once they were outside with the others, Mitzie stopped walking and turned to face Alford. “Until we find Emma, I’m not giving up on Claris talking,” she said laying her head on Alford’s chest. He sighed and kissed the top of her head. “We’ll find out one way or an
Mitzie couldn’t help the unease she felt as they made their way to the prison in which the Solaris warriors and Claris were being held. She covered her nose as they walked down the dark, dingy corridor to where Claris was. The putrid smell of blood and death hung in the air, but she seemed to be the only one sensitive to the vibrant odors. She would chalk it up to either pregnancy, or the fact that she was not used to being around the stench of death. She was firmly gripping onto Alford’s arm with her free hand, and slightly leaning into him. “Are you alright, my love?” he whispered turning his head to her. “Yeah, just… this smell, it’s making me rather nauseous,” she replied moving her hand from in front of her mouth so he could hear her, but still keeping her nose covered. “If it gets too bad, I’ll take you back out, okay?” he kissed the top of her head. He unwrapped her hand from around his arm and placed his arm around her shoulder giving her the ability to lean into him furthe
“Mrs. Kingsley answered the phone and said that Emma’s not in the main house nor in her quarters,” Sheloah notified the group. “That must mean she knows what’s happening and is trying to figure out like we are,” Alford said standing. “Any idea where she’d go looking for the answer? I mean, if none of you are able to get communications out or in…” Nolan began asking. “Seems like the communications block is being done from somewhere in the Milky Way. Knowing what I know of Emma, she’s probably gone somewhere to conjure a spell to pinpoint where it’s coming from.” Zara, Stanley, Sheloah, and Maria nodded in agreement. “So, you say that Mitzie’s sister, Princess Etheria, has been kidnapped by that asswipe and being held in his galaxy?” Grey asked moving to sit on the edge of his chair. Alford let out a small chuckle that all three of the pack leaders had some sort of derogatory name for Japheth. He couldn’t dispute any truth in those names, though. “Yes, a couple of earth weeks ago
“Princess!” Charlotte screamed as she entered the entertainment room and saw Mitzie laying on the floor. She rushed to her side and carefully lifted her head as she put her ear to Mitzie’s nose to check for breathing. “Princess! Princess! Help, somebody, help!” she yelled, glad she’d left the door open as she screamed towards it while she rushed to where Mitzie lay unresponsive on the floor. “Alpha, the princess.. I mean, Mitzie… she’s passed out!” she mind linked Nolan and the rest of his leaders who had just heard the words from Claris about expecting a family reunion and for Alford to check on his wife. “Shit!” Nolan turned to look at the others. “I just got a message from Charlotte that Mitzie s unconscious,” he advised them ushering them towards the cell’s exit. Claris cackled behind them. “And so it begins. Soon you’ll understand why I said you’re outnumbered.” “We’re not done with you, witch,” Nolan admonished her furrowing his brows in anger. He glanced back at her quickl
Howdy, my faithfuls! I wanted to take this time to apologize to you all for the delay in chapter updates...AGAIN. My editor is working on getting this taken care of as quickly as possible. You all have been super awesome with your patience while we get this resolved. Please delete this book and readd it to your library for the updates to take effect. I want to make sure each of you is where you should be in the chapters, as there are some spoilers lurking for the sequel! I'm excited for that book! As always, thank you for your support and your gems! :)
