“I thought you said nothing’s happened to her?” Nolan zipped down the one flight of stairs from the floor that his office was located on to the floor the Beta quarters were on. As he passed he grabbed Bryce’s shirt to drag him along. Without question, Bryce hurriedly followed Nolan to the ground floor as they both ran out of the house towards Nolan’s Mercedes. “Nothing that we know of. I’m calling because I felt you should know what is going on.” “Where is she now?” He asked starting the car and zipping out of the parking lot, barely giving Bryce a chance to close his door. “She’s with Mitzie and Emma. They went on a rescue mission for Alford and the rest of his team. My husband and I are at the Damos estate awaiting their return.” “I’m on my way,” he said releasing the call. “What’s going on, Alpha?” Bryce’s concerned eyes peering at the Alpha who was breaking all driving laws. “I don’t know. That was Mitzie Damos’ mother on the phone telling me that Marilee went on a rescue m
Mitzie placed a hand on Alford’s shoulder as she wrapped the other around her stomach and gazed into his caramel eyes with her green orbs glowing brightly. “I can feel him, too,” he grumbled pulling his hands away from around her waist. “Team,” he called, turning his body and his attention to the others who had restrained Claris in the same schorl drenched bindings that Alford and Stanley were in. They all looked in his direction waiting for further instructions. Sheera was perched on her haunches with her head leaning forward, growling deeply. “He is here. We must hurry and move out of this place before he lands. We don’t know the size of the army he’s brought, and I know we’ll be outnumbered with limited weaponry to counter.” Claris began heartily laughing from where she lay face-down on the floor with her hands and ankles tied together in double constrictor knots. “You fools,” she spat blood onto the floor from the internal injuries she sustained from Sheera’s attack. “Of course
Japheth quickly stood and sharply turned his back to Mitzie and Alford as everyone’s, including Japheth’s minions, looked towards the warehouse door. A distant ferocious growl echoed across the area, as a swarm of heavy paws hitting the ground could be faintly heard advancing on the enclosure. “Looks like we have company,” Japheth snorted swiftly walking in the direction of the incoming ruckus. “Your majesty! Your highness, what about me?” Claris screamed over the noise unsuccessfully struggling to turn onto her side and look at Japheth’s retreating back. He ignored her as he stopped by one of his men whispering something in his ear before continuing in the direction he was headed taking several of the men with him. “Take care of this for me will you, Captain Spars, while I see what’s going on outside.” The crusader nodded his head, waived for the ten remaining men to follow him, and began cautiously walking towards Mitzie and Alford with a wand in his hand that resembled a short
Mitzie squinted as her eyes slowly opened. Her head was rested against the back of the seat, and she groaned as she cautiously reached her hand to rub the back of her neck. She quickly assessed the environment feeling anxiety creep through her like torrid tendrils. They were surrounded by towering trees that amply obstructed the sunlight above them. Realization struck her that they had crashed through the guardrail on the highway, and although she was unable to tell where they were or how they’d landed, the vehicle didn’t appear to be damaged. She jolted forward with widened eyes as she shot her head in the direction of the driver’s seat. “Alford! Alford!” she shouted in fear as she hastily unfastened her seatbelt while reaching with her free hand to shake his shoulder. Alford’s head was leaned against the driver’s side window with his eyes closed, but he didn’t appear to be bleeding or injured, and his body slightly jostled as he gave out a small grunt in response to her nudging.
“What will we do with this witch?” Elshazar motioned with his head to Claris, who was still laying on the floor, howling in the despair of Japheth’s abandonment. Alford watched the witch with a smirk on his face. He knew that Japheth would double-cross her, but she wouldn’t have listened to him if he’d tried to warn her. He knew her well from their time together, and she was as stubborn as they come. A small piece of him wanted to feel sorry for her because he was familiar with how Japheth operated, but, after her attempt to give what was his to his selfish cousin, any ounce of remorse for her disposition was nullified. You can’t pick and choose your relatives, and Alford was but a twinkle in the stars when Sheloah’s aunt on her father’s side married King Mortimer. Alford had told Mitzie that he would always fight for family, but Japheth was an exception. “Did she have something to do with my sister getting hurt?” Nolan asked staring at the woman with an arched brow. “Not directly
“Are you alright, my love?” Alford asked Mitzie as they drove home, concern thick in his voice. “I am, I just need a hot shower and some sleep. The sun is almost up and I’m exhausted,” she replied laying her head back on the headrest and rubbing her stomach. “How about a nice warm bubble bath and a foot rub afterwards?” he smiled glancing at her. “Oh, that sounds divine,” she smiled at him. “But, uhm, I should be the one offering you a bubble bath with a back rub,” she chuckled. “Nonsense. You’re the one carrying our king, anything with me is just my duty as your husband and guardian of Etheron to protect you and the king,” he beamed reaching to grab her free hand over the console. “I like the way you think. I tell you what, how about we both take a bubble bath, and I’ll rub your back while you lay on your stomach and rub my feet?” she arched a brow. “I think I can handle that,” he said raising her hand to his mouth and kissing her knuckles. She giggled as she flexed her feet. “
“We’ve got five of the elite warriors guarding the cells,” Grey informed Nolan and Bryce as he entered the Alpha’s office. “Good. Make sure the Omegas know not to enter the chambers to feed them without one of us with them,” Nolan replied. “On it, Alpha,” Grey nodded leaving the office to deliver the orders. “None of the Sularians seem to pose a threat,” Bryce offered leaning back in the chair opposite Nolan’s desk. “Yeah, they may seem harmless, but we’ve seen their kind before with other packs and species. You remember the vampire that went on the human killing spree swore he was only acting on his hive master’s orders, and the moment we gave him pardon, he was running with rogue wolves and randomly killing humans again.” “Yeah, I remember that fucktard,” Bryce giggled. “He didn’t expect to be strung up in the early morning sun when we found him again.” “Didn’t one of his sisters have a thing for you?” Bryce arched a brow. Nolan scrubbed both of his hands over his face while l
Marilee sat in the middle of her the king-sized bed with her legs crossed clutching a pillow to her chest while sniffling and wiping her eyes with a Kleenex. She knew she can’t hold her brother accountable for how Luke treated her. They were taught as pups that there is a mate that the goddess has picked for them, and once they turn eighteen, they’re able to tell who their mate is by smell. On the full moon following a wolf’s eighteenth birthday, the females’ and males’ bodies release a certain pheromone that is only detectable by their mate. Some wolves had been mated to other species, for instance, when Nolan’s mother had been killed by rogue vampires when Nolan was a young pup, their father, the previous Alpha Lance, had been attracted to a pheromone that Marilee’s mother emitted. Marilee’s mother stayed with Alpha Lance long enough to conceive and give birth to Marilee, but she began to miss living among humans, and therefore left the pack to do so. Marilee was given the option t
Hello, my faithfuls! Ok, I know you all are probably thinking that I've abandoned the book. I have not. Some issues with my chapters had to be fixed, and you all will need to delete the book out of your library and reload it for the changes to take effect. If you're this far in the book, you'll begin at chapter 35 (you're able to refresh your read in chapter 34), and proceed from there. Sorry about the mixup and the time you all had to be away from Mitzie and Alford...they missed you all, too! ;) As always, thank you for reading, and the gems are much appreciated!

Hello, my faithful readers! I find myself apologizing again for the delay in chapter updates, however, this time it's due to an error in chapters posting. My editor is working as quickly as possible to get the issue rectified so that I can begin updating again. The wait will be worth it....and the sequel is alreay being written. Wanna guess who it's about? I'll give you a hint: some new characters and some old characters will be involved and play a major role. I'm excited for their adventure to roll out ;-) Thank you for keeping up with Mitzie & Alford/Orthos' adventure!
“Mom?” Mitzie balanced the cell phone between her shoulder and her ear as she used a spoon to scoop some ice cream and the chocolate cake that she was finally able to get her hands on into her mouth. It was every bit as good as she had expected. She licked some of the chocolate-brandy sauce off of the corner of her mouth. “No, Angel, this is dad. Are you all alright?” She could hear the concern in her father’s voice, and she felt bad that she had brought that reaction out of him so many times in her life. They were yet staying at Mitzie’s house for the time being as Emma had cast a protection spell around it, therefore making it the safest place for them. Even though they knew Japheth had left earth, they were still being cautious of any outliers, and with this new threat, it made even more sense. “We’re fine, daddy. Have you all heard from Emma yet?” “No, we haven’t. Your mother has left a note on Emma’s bedroom mirror and at all main house entry doors for her to call you as soo
“My love, let’s go,” Alford took a step closer to Mitzie and placed a hand on the small of her back. Mitzie turned as if to leave, but then turned back around to face Claris again. “I hope what I’ve said to you will sink in through that cap. You can save yourself if you do,” she softly said to Claris while rubbing her stomach. Claris looked back up at Mitzie with an unreadable expression on her face. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it and put her head back down. Mitzie waited for a moment to see if Claris would change her mind and say something, but after a few moments of silence, Alford gently nudged Mitzie to leave. She sighed and walked ahead of him as they went back up the stairs leading them out. Once they were outside with the others, Mitzie stopped walking and turned to face Alford. “Until we find Emma, I’m not giving up on Claris talking,” she said laying her head on Alford’s chest. He sighed and kissed the top of her head. “We’ll find out one way or an
Mitzie couldn’t help the unease she felt as they made their way to the prison in which the Solaris warriors and Claris were being held. She covered her nose as they walked down the dark, dingy corridor to where Claris was. The putrid smell of blood and death hung in the air, but she seemed to be the only one sensitive to the vibrant odors. She would chalk it up to either pregnancy, or the fact that she was not used to being around the stench of death. She was firmly gripping onto Alford’s arm with her free hand, and slightly leaning into him. “Are you alright, my love?” he whispered turning his head to her. “Yeah, just… this smell, it’s making me rather nauseous,” she replied moving her hand from in front of her mouth so he could hear her, but still keeping her nose covered. “If it gets too bad, I’ll take you back out, okay?” he kissed the top of her head. He unwrapped her hand from around his arm and placed his arm around her shoulder giving her the ability to lean into him furthe
“Mrs. Kingsley answered the phone and said that Emma’s not in the main house nor in her quarters,” Sheloah notified the group. “That must mean she knows what’s happening and is trying to figure out like we are,” Alford said standing. “Any idea where she’d go looking for the answer? I mean, if none of you are able to get communications out or in…” Nolan began asking. “Seems like the communications block is being done from somewhere in the Milky Way. Knowing what I know of Emma, she’s probably gone somewhere to conjure a spell to pinpoint where it’s coming from.” Zara, Stanley, Sheloah, and Maria nodded in agreement. “So, you say that Mitzie’s sister, Princess Etheria, has been kidnapped by that asswipe and being held in his galaxy?” Grey asked moving to sit on the edge of his chair. Alford let out a small chuckle that all three of the pack leaders had some sort of derogatory name for Japheth. He couldn’t dispute any truth in those names, though. “Yes, a couple of earth weeks ago
“Princess!” Charlotte screamed as she entered the entertainment room and saw Mitzie laying on the floor. She rushed to her side and carefully lifted her head as she put her ear to Mitzie’s nose to check for breathing. “Princess! Princess! Help, somebody, help!” she yelled, glad she’d left the door open as she screamed towards it while she rushed to where Mitzie lay unresponsive on the floor. “Alpha, the princess.. I mean, Mitzie… she’s passed out!” she mind linked Nolan and the rest of his leaders who had just heard the words from Claris about expecting a family reunion and for Alford to check on his wife. “Shit!” Nolan turned to look at the others. “I just got a message from Charlotte that Mitzie s unconscious,” he advised them ushering them towards the cell’s exit. Claris cackled behind them. “And so it begins. Soon you’ll understand why I said you’re outnumbered.” “We’re not done with you, witch,” Nolan admonished her furrowing his brows in anger. He glanced back at her quickl
Howdy, my faithfuls! I wanted to take this time to apologize to you all for the delay in chapter updates...AGAIN. My editor is working on getting this taken care of as quickly as possible. You all have been super awesome with your patience while we get this resolved. Please delete this book and readd it to your library for the updates to take effect. I want to make sure each of you is where you should be in the chapters, as there are some spoilers lurking for the sequel! I'm excited for that book! As always, thank you for your support and your gems! :)
