Tommy came downstairs and said, "You should head back, Margot. Curtis wouldn't jump to the wrong conclusions if you explain things properly to him."

Margot was speechless.

She followed Doris home in the end.

Once she entered the house, she saw Curtis sitting on the couch in the brightly-lit living room. He looked elegant, dressed in his loungewear.

Margot saw that his expression was extremely dark. She, too, wasn't happy at all and headed upstairs without saying anything.

Curtis wordlessly eyed her retreating figure.

He sat in the living room for a while before heading upstairs. He stood hesitatingly outside before finally entering the master bedroom.

Margot had already taken her place on the bed, right in the middle.

She knew that Curtis would never come and sleep in the master bedroom. As such, she didn't save him any space.

Curtis stood tall beside the bed. Despite being unwilling, he lowered his pride and got onto the bed to lay beside Margot.
